  1. If the original promotion goes bankrupt, anyone owed money would only be entitled to a percentage of any assets. Unless I've missed it, that hasn't been made clear.
  2. Well it is right up to where the fence used to be (the fence has been removed). Tony Mole reckoned he could still fit a track in but his approach was rejected. There are now houses in the field behind the stand (formerly the site of the old Northern View hospital). Or at least, planning has been passed for them.
  3. All double-up riders are prioritised to one club, that situation will remain.
  4. That could be a good move, he had some good teams when at Odsal.
  5. But why would they, there isn't much difference between the Premiership and the Championship? A top team in the Championship will probably equal or better a bottom team in the Premiership, the only likely change when moving up, would be to swap your number seven for a more established rider. Having said that, you seem determined to only see the dark side these days, I like the changes and am happy to give them a chance.
  6. This year their end of season trickery wont be possible.
  7. While the project made them heroes, it also exposed them as out of their depth. Unless Morton already knows what the future of the club and it's promotion is, and has had the nod, I doubt that anyone wanting to take-over the club would want to be associated with this sorry mess. A NEW start is very much needed and hopefully very soon.
  8. They have all made agreement to stand by the promotion and relegation, I gather. You could always lose in the play-offs if you don't fancy it.
  9. You have to know your riders and how to work them, they have to understand that you make decisions for the team. I still remember one fairly prominent rider at Bradford who had done nothing all night and was about to be replaced, he turned to the manager and said "you're taking my living away," which was slightly ironic as he hadn't scored any points.
  10. Well you could hardly blame them if it was, after the way they've been ripped off. I think they've been more than generous in allowing the current situation to continue, hopefully a new broom will get it right.
  11. There are 'experience days' at Scunthorpe and I think at Redcar, Northside and a few others. http://www.speedwaygb.co/training
  12. They're both in the same league now, so it doesn't matter.
  13. Three or less, down to a new minimum of two, so you could get someone on 2.5 or whatever. As Matt say's, only in the Championship.
  14. In that case I apologise for my own reply.
  15. I think a top Championship side will be just about equal to a bottom Premiership side by then.
  16. Promoters aren't necessarily "raking it in" most of them are successful business people or have inherited money, that's how they managed to buy clubs in the first place. The story at Peterborough over the last few years is a good illustration of that.
  17. He'll actually have one average based on all his matches.
  18. With the gap narrowed and everyone on the same averages, I don't think it'll be a problem.
  19. Redcar don't try to do that, maybe Workington have learned from their past mistakes? Plymouth didn't and paid the price.
  20. Whatever changes are made would still bring out the moaners. The 'doer's have just had their conference, they know what they can and can't do and what they can afford. I started watching in the 50s at Belle Vue and Odsal, Halifax later reopened and was always my favourite. I sometimes acted as a mechanic and sponsor, these days I'm getting on a bit and not always so well, in the last couple of years I've visited Redcar, Sheffield and Belle Vue, when able. I think the changes make the sport look more credible to those who don't usually go or those who might be taken along for the first time, it even made the sports section of the BBC website yesterday.
  21. I fully agree! Whatever changes had been made, you'd get the same moaners on here. I'm delighted by the changes and am already looking forward to next season.
