  1. No idea but the alternative would probably be both of them not running.
  2. You call it Belle Vue/Coventry and split the fixtures between the two tracks. Cradley is racing on two home tracks next year.
  3. Well reading this depressing garbage should soon dampen anyone's spirits.
  4. I think you'd struggle to find buyers, especially now that there are so few places left to fill and most clubs are in a fragile state financially.
  5. I think your opinion is much valued Dean, there'll always be snipers whatever is said or done.
  6. I usually find that children are more accepting but fair enough.
  7. So he's never right and you're never wrong? Or are you just irrationally biased?
  8. SpeedwayGB ‏@SpeedwayGB 1h1 hour ago BELLE VUE | More discussions to take place this week to secure the Aces' future. Still on track for completion.
  9. Well there's one Brit. And if it wasn't for him I probably wouldn't watch it. Having said that, I could well imagine Zmarszlik being top or very near to it. Although it's a very strong line-up, I think a number of them are probably beyond their peak now.
  10. Well Ronnie stayed in NZ for about six seasons (partly due to injury) and would have had a much bigger pile of silver wear if he hadn't, it always struck me how he seemed to find loads of room to overtake, Briggo didn't 'find' room, he pushed and harried until a gap appeared, he always seemed to me to be capable or riding closer to others than anyone at the time. Ivan brought professionalism to a new level and that has carried on into the current level of GP rider. I missed out Ove because I didn't want to start a list and because I actually prefered to watch the other three. Just my opinion of course.
  11. I think you can only judge a rider in his own time, for me the Moore, Briggs and Mauger trio where the greatest, but history and statistics and the different competitions available in recent decades, will all tell a different story. There is also quite a list of great names whose potential was unfulfilled due to to accident, early retirement or just misfortune.
  12. When someone can decide to spend his whole career in the National League, or certain clubs and riders consider the second tier to be as high as they're prepared to aspire to, that isn't a sport. The GPs are the nearest bit of Speedway to be a sport, or at least they would be if all competitors were qualifiers and a more standardised level of equipment was used. Guests, tactical rides and a constantly changing rule book, all serve to lessen the credibility and add to the circus-like impression. I still enjoy a good race but trying to sell the concept to anyone new is certainly not easy.
  13. If you sign seven riders on their way down the averages, they wont do as well as seven on their way up the averages, that's why the wealthier set-ups end up at or near the top.
  14. Another problem is access, many tracks can't be visited unless you have transport or someone willing to take you. When I started you could visit lots of tracks by public transport that are either closed or replaced by something miles from anywhere and people nearby accepted the noise.
  15. Kent sounds to be something of an exception then.
  16. Yes and he doesn't like anyone questioning or disagreeing (I have found).
  17. No, but then you'd be doing Flattrack or F2. If everyone used grass bikes we could even hold some meetings in fields or on beaches. People may scoff but it could come to that.
  18. UPDATE | British Speedway Chairman Keith Chapman confirms "positive" talks are ongoing regarding Belle Vue and Leicester. GB Twitter 5th Dec. That is it.
  19. Can't remember where but it was in the last few days.....And I'm not a liar!
  20. The chairman says that progress is being made, both at Belle Vue and Leicester.
  21. Possibly so, I would have preferred one league but you are in the competition that you are in and it is meant to be a sport, not a circus act.
  22. It certainly would but it wouldn't be in the spirit of competition. If fans are happy for their club to be nothing more than a side show then fair enough.
