But last season the factory claimed that his engine wasn't frequently stripped down and now they are claiming that all their current engines are the same as his, so are they liars or are you just guessing?
-
Another often missed point is that you have to take or send your GM for all those services and you'll need another as cover while you're at it, so it isn't just the cost of one engine.
-
I agree Dean, although I do take your point about more riders learning to do their own servicing, at least those who aren't riding here there and everywhere, five or six nights a week.
-
How do you know that they aren't competitive? Yes stick with your GM and pay hundreds a month in servicing, while the sport goes bankrupt as a result. Why do you think the BSPA are doing this?
-
And what proof (if any) do you have for that?
-
I think that if the plans for Leicester and Belle Vue are as reported and satisfactorily completed, then that should leave both clubs on a stronger footing and that would certainly be good news (probably already is). The news would be even better if the mess at Coventry is made usable and hopefully a new venue becomes possible.
-
Yes, that'd be something, Poles coming here to watch Speedway after their own is kaput.

This has already been posted as 'ACU press release.'

It didn't take long did it? Just eleven posts and the thread is reduced to nonsense.
-
I suppose the point is, do you want a handful of clubs or the current number (even if most of them are lame ducks). I often think British riders should be unrestricted and overseas applicants should be allocated by a committee to bolster the weaker clubs, rather than clubs dealing direct with them (yes I remember rider control but this would be slightly different).

While I agree with the 50s remarks, there are many other factors, many of which started to come in also in the 50s, = People getting TVs and having more access to other leisure pursuits and holidays, tracks starting to move to areas inaccessible by public transport and eventually a lack of clubs altogether. In those days there were too many riders and not enough clubs, how times have changed! These days there are too many clubs that aren't really financially viable, the situation with guests, doubling up and tactical rides are all attempts to make those clubs fairly competitive with the wealthier clubs, it makes the sport unfathomable to non-regulars and frankly reduces it to circus status. You should have a declared team and if any are missing they should be replaced only by riders who are unattached to other clubs (with the exception of the NL). Promotion and relegation is a good move, as the PL simply existed on it's own for too many riders and supporters (the ambition should always be to get to the top). The National League has too many riders making a career of it and apparently making money, aside from 1 rider coach per team, the rest of the riders should be of less than a certain number of seasons experience.

I don't quite know what you mean by 'official' but here is a news report. http://www.skysports.com/speedway/news/12268/10538896/tai-woffinden-steps-down-as-great-britain-captain

If Buster didn't keep pushing it would now be history.
-
Nobody is stopping them coming on here and saying why they have become ex fans.
-
Eddie Jones is paid a lot of money and is employed full time.
-
There is a Twitter message from him on page 1 which seems to suggest he has done that.
-
He wont improve anything by staying away, he's more likely to be listened to from the inside than the outside. Anyway the kids'll fashion a new ball out of unsold programmes and carry on with the game.
-
A rider should be prepared to commit to his national side, it should be an honour. That goes for the others who declined.
-
I have no opinion on him, other than being disappointed that he wont be representing GB but isn't your reaction a bit delayed?
-
He probably wipes his a**e on it.
-
Ha! Well that's very true.
-
You know what I meant Dean and you know what riders are spending on servicing and how frequently they're doing it, the GTR might just save some people from themselves.
-
It'll pay for itself in the first year.
-
You can have your engine inspected at any time if you have doubts as to it's performance.
-
If a dyno test revealed that, you would take the engine back.
