  1. He also looked very handy over there, finishing on the podium in an individual meeting and scoring reasonably well in a challenge match, they seem to be spoilt for choice, or maybe a young Pole needed a place, which is exactly what we should be doing (prioritising our own).
  2. You can't, but then how can you give him a place ahead of a young Brit who wants to climb the ladder but keeps getting overlooked? You have to impose an average that means that the local lad is the better and less riskier signing.
  3. That's all rather a generalisation, there have been plenty of very sociable British riders and a few Aussies who were often best avoided. Not that any of that matters to me, the racing is everything. I think we should put our own riders first whatever it involves and whatever contract and rule changes are deemed necessary.
  4. This is what was needed for Belle Vue...... http://www.moto2x2.com/en/
  5. Glasgow for all it's finery is still too far away for the bulk of supporters, the line-up wasn't exactly brilliant either.
  6. In football I doubt if the big clubs would want him with one years experience, they might sign him and leave him there, in such cases I believe they actually pay a fee to the host club and his wages. That is a chance such as Brady Kurtz would have to take. He could always try his luck in some other country, we owe him nothing.
  7. Can we have this in English please? I said elsewhere that overseas riders coming here to gain experience and improve their status, should have to sign-up to a minimum period here (say 5yrs). Time for the BSPA to counter what is going on. I wouldn't actually ban riders of any nationality but I would certainly impose a commitment clause.
  8. It is when we are producing that 'person'. I said in another post that overseas riders coming here to work their way up should be expected to commit to prioritising British racing for a number of years, I hope such a contract comes in, meanwhile Poland will carry on cherry-picking the big names that we have produced. One person one club is a good thing, in the 50s and beyond, that's what we had and we are now producing more junior riders than ever before, so hopefully we might get back to that. I just hope that the BSPA show some metal in how they react to this.
  9. Exactly! There is now more junior racing than ever before.
  10. Well as you're a lover of all things Polish I might have expected that. The fact is that the boot isn't on the other foot and it seems that they wont be happy until the other foot has been rendered totally ineffective. At the rate they are going theirs will be the only professional league. What next, even more GPs to add to their current 3? You're right though, they haven't done anything wrong...on paper anyway.
  11. So Sedgmen is better than King is he? Or Fricke is better than King? Well not if he's in Poland practising or whatever.
  12. You can blame Poland! At this rate they will be the only professional Speedway country left! They already have three GPs and the top league but greed has gotten hold of them.
  13. It was the Facebook comments I was after. No matter though.
  14. Can't find it, it would help if I knew what I was looking for. can anyone post a link?
  15. If a non-Polish rider misses British fixtures because of this ruling, he should only be replaced with a NL rider. That ruling alone would make promoters more discerning about who they sign and it might make some riders (particularly non-EU) think twice, after the complexities of gaining clearance to spend their European season as Polish based riders. Another possibility is that riders who start their league career in Britain, should be required to sign a commitment to Britain above Poland, at least for a given period of eg. 5yrs. (as the Poles wouldn't entertain bringing in unknown riders, that would counter this Polish action).
  16. British riders should all be contracted before any club is allowed to approach an overseas rider, doubling -up (seemingly a current necessity) should only be offered to British riders, as should the chance to ride as a guest. Any overseas rider who can't commit to the full fixture list of the club of his intentions, should be blocked by the BSPA.
  17. http://www.britishspeedway.co/2017_speedway_regulations_website.pdf The above link is for 2017 and still indicates double points for tactical rides.
  18. It was in the Guinness Book of Records, as mentioned in this article... http://www.devonlive.com/nostalgia-comment-speedway-exeter-8217-s-past/story-27514929-detail/story.html
