  1. Kenny Carter would be ready to race, whatever the conditions, I imagine Nigel Boocock was the same.
  2. While there is a lot of truth in that, I also subscribe to the Kelvin Tatum theory that today's combination of tyres, silencers and engines, makes the bikes unnecessarily unpredictable and thus, too dangerous. There simply aren't enough riders able to handle differing conditions, with the equipment that they are expected to use.
  3. I thought it strange that they should widen the track round the inside and then prepare it so no one can actually ride there, the first few heats you should be able to ride the inside until the dirt moves out but the riders were out wide from the off. OK if you like crashes and near misses, personally I don't.
  4. Couldn't they sign a rider now, ready to come in after 28 days?
  5. He can't, it'll be past the transfer deadline.
  6. I agree about team identity, I think the only way to achieve it is to abandon the averages and have one big league.
  7. Irrespective of my SWC views, I hope Tai gets back in the medal hunt and that Craig can have confidence restored and build on his previous appearances. To be honest, if it wasn't for the Brits, I wouldn't bother watching it.
  8. Chris could have scored more by being more aggressive but his sense of fair play isn't shared by many other SWC riders, it certainly made the Wolves/Rye House match worth watching though. The difference between a medal or no medal was that two riders only managed one point each and those two have done better in the past and will hopefully do better in the future, whatever regime is in charge.
  9. Nothing new actually. He claims that Speedway is the national sport in Poland, I thought Football had more clubs and bigger crowds? I still can't understand why staying away helps his claimed desire to make Team GB SWC winners, surely he would exert more influence by joining in and that might eventually lead to him being in charge? At the moment he's creating division in every aspect of the sport, while he plays intimidation games and boasts about his wealth and personal circumstances. It is undeniable that he cares but ........
  10. Building an arena isn't necessarily an investment, it is more than likely a speculation (Belle Vue comes to mind) and isn't comparable to bribing someone to make a few personal appearances.
  11. That isn't sport though, it's just entertainment and some showmen trying to protect their investment. In that respect it isn't 'relevant' (to me anyway).
  12. I think most people already know about the clay content but other tracks eg Scunthorpe, have a very heavy usage of all kinds of track racing and produce better racing than that. There are also claims that KL isn't as good for racing as it was several years ago.
  13. He doesn't exactly come across as intelligent or inspire confidence, then again, the new league set-up and junior development set-up are still in early days and they are an attempt to change and hopefully better things.... I just wish he'd make Kings Lynn into a good race track.
  14. It certainly is unfortunate for Rob. Bit of a mistake by Rye declaring that "there'll always be a place for him here," they might find a very promising replacement or next years averages might make things difficult if you intend team building from the bottom up.
  15. No he didn't, Tai dealt with the Tai situation very badly. There was nothing to prevent him offering to ride in the SWC and he would have had a much bigger influence on things if he had, staying away solves nothing, neither does making derogatory remarks on Twitter or in interviews. I'm proud that he got two World titles but I (and I suspect many more) would be much prouder if he got back in the game and got on with things, without trying to be disruptive or belittling. It shouldn't have to be a case of "him or me" and I'm sure he could come back if he really wanted. Anyway I won't be back to answer any scything attacks on my post, I'm taking my ball home!
  16. Poor Nathan and he'd made such a good comeback to the sport GWS matey.
  17. Those riding abroad should only be allowed to be replaced by a NL rider, promoters will soon get the message.
  18. I thought Bomber was the difference between poor and entertaining.
  19. Standard engines would certainly get my vote. A 4TT might be an alternative for a cup competition, cup matches that are the same format as league matches would probably add interest if they were changed to something different.
  20. I seem to remember a 4TT years ago where the riders actually rode in pairs, with just maybe a nominated final heat with one from each team.
