  1. I suspect it would soon turn into a dictatorship or click, where anyone questioning or opposing their ideas, would soon be dismissed or ganged up on.
  2. I would imagine a minimum of eight bikes, wasn't something like that happening when the Honda engines were being tried? Some flat track engines (450 motocross) can be fitted with a heavier flywheel, I believe there are some being used in UK flat track bikes now, so that would be another possibility, basically the F2 bikes that are still doing the rounds. There is also the 2 valve upright Jawa engine that has been developed, that's another possibility but you'd need a different diamond to accommodate them.
  3. Yes they should but that doesn't mean that they should ignore the Holder situation.
  4. Cheap reply! Anyway it wont happen because Poland have never shown any interest in anything but Polish Speedway and I'm sure they'd be very happy if all professional Speedway was Polish.
  5. While it sounds ideal, some riders seem to be strongly opposed to it, when there was suggestion of the sealed GTRs being used in that manner there was a lot of opposition, mind you, if it ever did happen they would be forced to accept it. It might be good if a sponsor could be found so that some challenge matches could be tried.
  6. Yes and Polish riders who have never been here still dominate them.
  7. It probably is and I doubt there'd be a queue of applicants if he stood down.
  8. Sorry but I just don't get this "develop some of their riders" why would they want one of their riders becoming adept at riding round something like Lakeside or some other mini track? It's hardly going to advantage their world domination aspirations, especially when the bulk of world events take place on Polish tracks or tracks that resemble them. Their rider development set up seems to be providing for their needs more than adequately already. Anyway I respect your idea, why not contact the chairman and ask for his opinion?
  9. Why should the Poles be remotely interested ? Their ultimate aim is to swamp the GPs (they already hold a quarter of them and have a quarter of the riders) and most GP tracks, with a couple of exceptions, are big Polish type tracks, I can't see how it would benefit them and they have seemingly unlimited practice and coaching facilities to keep them busy anyway. I wouldn't be against it but I can't see it happening, they'd be more likely to link up with the Swedes if anything.
  10. I doubt many promoters take in £25,000 on a race night.
  11. He had no option but to go after Peterborough.
  12. They have little option, you can't make a living riding there and getting a place and a visa anywhere but here isn't easy (not impossible though).
  13. Chapman HAS to criticise him, he's the boss (makes you wonder how bad the rest are though).
  14. It could also be argued that Holder and (to a lesser extent) Batchellor brought the sport into disrepute. Time to get rid of riders who don't commit to UK racing and those who walk out of meetings where the track has been declared fit to ride on by officials and other riders. Buster definitely isn't the answer though, basically he comes across as enthusiastic but pretty unintelligent.
  15. Yes, I'm sure! It isn't as you describe, we were all aware of the likely line up before the event. If you were aware about the burger you wouldn't have paid for the steak (although I think a reduced admission price might have been appropriate). Time to get rid of the non-committers, even if that means a lowering of standards.
  16. Yes it is, time to get rid of those who don't commit.
  17. No, because it wasn't actually against the rules.
  18. Just why have you posted this twice, you idiot?
  19. He was right to do what he did and it's very likely that Peterborough will be disciplined in some way (and deservedly so).
  20. Except that they lost at home and Zagar actually got double his score.
  21. The difference is that you can play rugby at school and it costs nothing.
  22. There just isn't the money here and probably never will be. With regard to professional speedway, I'm surprised there's any now, most tracks are deserted, with the meager crowd usually crammed into one small corner.
  23. They aren't the same, Thorsell has been with his Polish club all season, Holder hasn't. The visa might have stipulations that affect this situation? Irrespective of all that, it's time to stop this happening, we can do little about the past but we can certainly do something about the future. Even if our leagues have to be downgraded it would be better than teams turning up full of guests, R/R and NL riders, while their supposed regulars are appearing, elsewhere, you have to accept that riders might get injured but some other absences are not acceptable.
  24. Only one is subject to the rules of a visa. If your theory was law we would have to pardon all murderers because someone got off with a technicality in 1914. Whatever has happened in the past, now is the time to make a stand.
