  1. Chapman HAS to criticise him, he's the boss (makes you wonder how bad the rest are though).
  2. It could also be argued that Holder and (to a lesser extent) Batchellor brought the sport into disrepute. Time to get rid of riders who don't commit to UK racing and those who walk out of meetings where the track has been declared fit to ride on by officials and other riders. Buster definitely isn't the answer though, basically he comes across as enthusiastic but pretty unintelligent.
  3. Yes, I'm sure! It isn't as you describe, we were all aware of the likely line up before the event. If you were aware about the burger you wouldn't have paid for the steak (although I think a reduced admission price might have been appropriate). Time to get rid of the non-committers, even if that means a lowering of standards.
  4. Yes it is, time to get rid of those who don't commit.
  5. No, because it wasn't actually against the rules.
  6. Just why have you posted this twice, you idiot?
  7. He was right to do what he did and it's very likely that Peterborough will be disciplined in some way (and deservedly so).
  8. Except that they lost at home and Zagar actually got double his score.
  9. The difference is that you can play rugby at school and it costs nothing.
  10. There just isn't the money here and probably never will be. With regard to professional speedway, I'm surprised there's any now, most tracks are deserted, with the meager crowd usually crammed into one small corner.
  11. They aren't the same, Thorsell has been with his Polish club all season, Holder hasn't. The visa might have stipulations that affect this situation? Irrespective of all that, it's time to stop this happening, we can do little about the past but we can certainly do something about the future. Even if our leagues have to be downgraded it would be better than teams turning up full of guests, R/R and NL riders, while their supposed regulars are appearing, elsewhere, you have to accept that riders might get injured but some other absences are not acceptable.
  12. Only one is subject to the rules of a visa. If your theory was law we would have to pardon all murderers because someone got off with a technicality in 1914. Whatever has happened in the past, now is the time to make a stand.
  13. I though Thorssell was a member of his Polish team from the start of the season, he certainly rode in their opening meeting, so maybe a priority had already been established? So it isn't quite the same as the Holder situation and even if it were, one riders absence to compete abroad shouldn't be allowed to set a precedence for all the others.
  14. I doubt that it's 'hot air' and I can't imagine that they'll turn a blind eye.
  15. That's true and anything imposed shouldn't punish the fans (the promoter seems very adept at that already).
  16. http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.32942 Mr Chapman is not amused.
  17. I doubt that, if the Poles rode five nights a week they'd still have riders in abundance.
  18. They would be subject to the same rules as foreign riders, prioritise your British commitments or ride abroad. The most likely thing is that they'd start in the Polish lower leagues, which don't currently impose the same restrictions as the top league (I believe Bates and Ellis currently do that).
  19. In that case I look forward to the rules being upheld (hopefully).
  20. Doubt he'll get a ban when the promoter is already making excuses for his absence and already indicating that he might approve further absences.
  21. Well they re-enforced the Polish league which seems to be making a bid to control the whole of Speedway and acting to the detriment of ours. Besides that, no other country except Poland and Sweden (when it suits them) offers any of our riders the chance to make a living or better themselves. British Speedway should be looking to staff it's teams with riders who are committed and available, that would better British Speedway, even if it meant lowering the averages to start with.
  22. It isn't a ban, it's just a change in the regulations, so that anyone coming to ride here does so as a priority, with the possible exception of those who have home league commitments.
  23. So how much (if anything) is in the brown envelope? I would want to see the team that I paid each week to support. Like others say 'it's time all this nonsense was sorted', British Speedway shouldn't exist as a feeder for Poland, let them employ the Aussie directly.
