While that would certainly make fixture planning easier and it does now seem to be set in stone, it will actually increase the likelihood for doubling up. Some might have no problem with that but there are a lot who dislike it (as various threads on here seem to prove).
He seems well liked and listened to by his riders. It will always be something of a disadvantage to be based at the best track in the country and one that almost everyone seems to relish riding on.
Personally I don't miss any of them but you might get a few looking for extra rides, especially if rumours about Swedish Speedway are true, let's hope they don't bankrupt any more clubs if they do come. Your comment about Rob Shuttleworth is in extremely bad taste, I would always support British riders over imported ones whatever level they happen to be at.
I reckon they'd reapply. The Premiership is hoping to have between 10-12 clubs. I think the promotion thing was introduced before Coventry and Lakeside withdrew, so there would have been 10 clubs in each.
I'm not sure that I go along with that, if I wanted to add value to my commercial brand, I would think that I'd invest in something more in the public eye, 99% of people will never hear of Freddie Lindgren etc, no matter who sponsors them.
I think the biggest doubt is over the second tier, with two clubs reputed to be moving up and possibly two others dropping down or out, we could easily end up with a six team second tier and that surely wouldn't be viable. From what we read though a single league seems unlikely. Uncertainty is never good for the sport (particularly during a long winter) so the sooner we actually know the situation, the better.
