  1. You certainly ARE against the GTR! All you've ever done on this thread is criticise it and anyone who spoke favourably about it. There are some riders now in their second season with the engine, they seem to have found it to be 'competitive, reliable and economical.' For the first half of the season Freddie Lindgren did very well with it at all levels, then again, most GP riders seemed to switch engine builders mid-season, so they basically played a game of musical chairs with tuners and where one found failure another found success, with the same tuner! Much of which is just psychology, if a rider feels he's made the right move he'll feel confident, until the novelty wears off.
  2. I know that Dean, I was really referring to his comment about 'average jobs' and didn't want you to think I was having a dig.
  3. With all due respect to Dean, that could just be an indication that most of them aren't among the sharpest knives in the drawer.
  4. Scunthorpe is quite near to both, they have run training schools, experience days and a winter amateur series, over the years.
  5. Surely there's more to your post than that, at the moment it's as clear as mud?
  6. Well they get to some training camps and some have been getting into international events this year, plus there is the Poultec scheme. You might well suggest more things but this is a whole lot more than the nothing of years ago. You already knew all that though Phil, so are you just trying to stir something up or have you any ideas of your own that could realistically be added?
  7. Some very promising names there, I think the most improved rider this year has been Nathan Greaves, I wouldn't have said that prior to this season but he's really come on.
  8. Cookie was in court for it. http://metro.co.uk/2007/07/20/naked-drunk-driver-gets-banned-564097/
  9. Yes but reserves are essential in case of withdrawals, even when we had six man teams there was a system in place if someone withdrew. Tactical's other than reserves were just invented to perpetuate the idea that Speedway isn't a genuine sport but a circus act. It's mainly since the rolling average was introduced that you can get reserves who are better than main body riders.
  10. Exactly and Newcastle are proudly announcing that you only have to pay £20 to see this farce! They'll be lucky if they get 200 there.
  11. Reserves are there for replacing other team members, surely everyone accepts that?
  12. No it isn't, it's in the rules that they can impose a seven day rest period on any rider claiming sickness, as he seems to do this before certain selected meetings and didn't inform them in time to get a replacement, it's understandable and quite surprising that another GB international hasn't yet copped for the same thing.
  13. http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-bees-first-look-plans-13772079 Plans for housing at Brandon.
  14. Well after people have paid to see him and been denied (several times) you might expect criticism.
  15. Exactly! Which strangely occurs before certain meetings but not others, and prevents him giving notice of absence reasonably early.
  16. Funny coincidences about the Actual meetings that Cook has missed and the short notice involved. the mystery illness seems to be very selective as to when it kicks in and when it doesn't.
  17. Probably Scott Nicholls, he's been in everything else this week.
