  1. I think the only viable option is part-time or semi-pro racing, based around weekends and bank holidays, It's embarrassing to see meetings on TV with a pathetic number of spectators, we used to get bigger crowds for junior league meeting years ago, I doubt if any club in the country could pay it's way on just gate receipts.
  2. Because it's the best track in the country and the crowd is an embarrassment.
  3. Yes but he would be a disaster, you need someone who can win races, otherwise you might as well bring in Wallinger or Parr.
  4. He didn't make a lot of progress did he?
  5. Becker would be good but would his visa allow it?
  6. I don't they discussed the reason (other than just speculation) just the fact that rumours suggested he might leave.
  7. I have a feeling he won't be riding anywhere but it's just a hunch.
  8. Ben Barker has been released by Redcar and a replacement (as yet un-named) has been found. Personal issues was the only reason given.
  9. Apart from a couple of races I found this event boring, Tatum and Pearson where obviously under instruction to big it up but their misplaced enthusiasm (often after yet another procession) was frankly embarrassing, that is when you could actually decipher Tatum's slurred words (what is it he crams into his mouth in the latter stages of most meetings?).
  10. Apart from the run-off heats I've really enjoyed both meetings, bringing back the World Cup would just be handing it to Poland.
  11. I wasn't aware of that. Apologies for being wrong.
  12. Once the squad is declared you can't change it, surely it's better to have a half-fit rider than no rider.
  13. He can't take time off, that would mean our SON squad was a man down, Bomber would never let the country down.
  14. Yes but Harris has the experience abroad and you have to stick with your squad throughout, anyway Harris isn't likely to ride in the Belle Vue round, it'll be Cook, Lambert and Woffinden.
  15. He hasn't had a good start to the season, the right riders have been selected.
  16. That'll make a change, after some recent performances.
  17. It'll be an easy home win, not because BV have a particularly good team but because t'other lot have cut their own throats.
