I think it has been a great success and a winter re-draw to even things up, is all that's needed.

I would have a line several feet back from the start line, once the riders assemble there put them under starters orders, as soon as they have approached the tapes and are looking to be stationary, I would release the tapes. If any of them has committed an offence like tape touching, I would allow the race to finish and then exclude them after the race finishes. Anyone gardening or pretending to adjust their clutch would also be excluded after the race, NO EXCEPTIONS!

I wouldn't stop double-ups, they can help a rider progress and also boost his income. Because of the way the fixtures work it can be difficult to get off track employment and a lot of riders are finding PL only is a struggle. I would get rid of the large number of third rate foreigners who are using the PL to boost their home racing income and their riding progress, the league would do well to consider the Draft system which has greatly helped a number of British riders this season. Other suggestions seem good to me, the whole presentation thing needs sharpening up.

In heats 11+12 the home number one seems to have two rides in succession. I like the current set-up, although it could do with some slight tweaks. I also like the option of squads or two number ones sharing.

After KINGS Lynn Rosco was calling people for telling him to go with the younger end. Well a few youngsters would have done just as well as King and Stead and might have learned something and gained vital experience for the future. Despite his embarrassing posturing all week and those ridiculous remarks about getting a medal, he has achieved nothing. Woffy was OK but not at his very best, Bomber was entertaining but he's past his best. King backed out of every possible confrontation and isn't a hard enough rider for that level and Stead was out of his depth and like King, isn't an international class rider and never will be. Continuing to select any of the bottom three would be a waste.

PK will need to improve a lot to make this work, can he still lift himself?

Some people on here think that strengthening Elite League teams would be a panacea for a recovery to viable crowd levels, it wouldn't! In Sweden and Poland the crowd levels have fallen by just as big a percentage as here and there have been just as many if not more cases of none or late payment to riders. People also seem to skim over the fact that a lot of PL teams are losing money as well, those who always seem to be also-rans and who fill their sides with the less up and coming riders, do so because they really can't afford to compete. You have to do your best with what you can afford and at the moment most clubs struggle to afford what they currently have.

Why have Glasgow, Edinburgh and (sometimes) Cardiff been excluded?

There aren't very many with his ability though.

Assuming that the current rules allow for a team dropping out. Starke would be a good solid addition anyway.

Years ago riders COULD earn a living riding in one league, it also gave them more chance of employment outside of speedway, if they chose to take it. The difference today is costs, engines went many more meetings between services, tires lasted several meetings and even a lot of big names would arrive with one bike on a rack on the back of their car. Unless steps are taken to reduce costs the situation will continue to get worse.
