  1. Personally I think Greaves has a very long way to go before he should be considered.
  2. Must be this as he's intending to be back during this season. I would say no. I would prefer it with him in but I don't like this wild card thing anyway and would support scrapping it except for the number 16.
  3. He says on Twitter today, that he's not starting the season.
  4. It'll be good if he makes a proper go of it this time, he did look quite promising in the past.
  5. Wonder which month he'll retire THIS year?
  6. I remember Mike Broadbank saying he once rode in Sweden and travelled with Briggo, who was apparently a frequent visitor. I should add that I think these were open meetings, rather than league.
  7. His tussles with Compo were the stuff of legends.
  8. Both figures are usually published but for team building purposes that would indeed be 8.
  9. Well that sounds to be quite sociable compared to going to a football match.
  10. http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/speedway/redcar-bears-11th-hour-rider-8688459
  11. I've watched Speedway since the early fifties, also was a mechanic and sponsor, apart from Bernt Persson he was the most deliberately dirty rider I ever saw. He even had followers who carried a banner declaring "give 'em the bounce Al" which was a play on words from the Brylcreem bounce adverts of the day. I would bring back Peter Craven but I'd settle for Darcy just now.
  12. Talk about kicking him when he's down! I personally hope he gets notice SAP that he is back. You can stick the boot in as much as you like but I'm far from alone in that thought, Poole know it and Magic knows it. If there's the slightest chance of getting him in they will take it.
  13. We are a long way beyond expressing opposition, that was done very quickly. The long and repeated expressions of opposition are however another thing, I don't want to see them and frankly I find them off-putting. Obviously we can stray off topic at times and I'm guilty of that myself (usually with light hearted quips) but I don't drag it on for a number of days and neither do I rope in some who seem bent on encouraging conflict. Besides all that, isn't there a thread for none Speedway discussions? This is meant to be about a Speedway related matter and the said remark and it's response should have been left at that. And NO I wont be discussing it further!
  14. I bet he's discovered more than two little boys and their toys, where he is.
  15. You can't blame the forum for one persistently boring twatette.
  16. I wouldn't care whether you expressed it or not, but I WOULD care if people attempted to drag this forum through a lot of off topic reactions. On first reading I took the remark to be light hearted more than anything, it was factually incorrect because not everyone of those mentioned is a pickpocket (they have cultivated something of a reputation though), but then, many ON topic remarks are factually incorrect. Sorry if I've contributed to the dragging off topic that I have so complained about, maybe I should have left it to the resident finger wagger?
  17. Yes it does. www.coventrybees.co/news.php?extend.3025
  18. Whatever the reason for it, that is a team that is well short of top end fire-power. If Poole get their proposed line-up they'll thrash that lot on any track. Amazing the differences between some teams, when you consider that they are all assembled from the same averages. Definitely a 'just making up the numbers' team.
  19. The trouble is that we have imported hundreds of thousands of such people and are now expected to stand aside while they convert this country into an odious mix of intolerance and exclusivity!....And no, I don't want to discuss it with you. This is a Speedway forum but since you decided to drag this out etc.
  20. It's no different to what he'd face in Poland or Sweden, he's just getting his excuses in early.
  21. That's nonsense! They'll be lucky to get five seats. They'll probably get my vote but they have no chance of winning my constituency. I'd love to be wrong by the way.
  22. They have a new format for this year, so maybe they ride against different riders to last year.
