  1. I was away for the last Gp and took out the single month subscription to watch life on a laptop on the Saturday evening to save avoiding the result and watching it when I got home on the Monday evening when no doubt the wife would be catching up on Eastenders and Corrie! Absolutely excellent quality and great value for money. The free wifi I was on wasn't the best so every 10 mins or so the footage paused to buffer but rather than miss a chunk the player started in the same spot and ran in time lag mode giving me chance to catch up to live during the ad breaks. If I didn't have the Sky entertainment extra plan it would be a good investment, especially if you watch anything else on Eurosport and with the option to do 12 months at the reduced price. Pleased that I don't need Sky sports now, don't bother with league racing as rarely had the time or even the desire to watch most of the meetings last year. Well done Eurosports!
  2. I might be wrong, but I'm 99% sure that if the ambulance has to make an appearance on track the curfew is pre approved to extend by 30 minutes to 10pm.
  3. Oh dear, seems Tony has a lot to live up to. If the tracks are not deep and grippy there will be trouble next year! However given the outcry when a meeting needs to be delayed or abandoned it will be interesting to see what happens in the event of poor weather, TV will simply not allow for delays and we may find that we do not get live SGP if meetings start getting extensive delays for trackwork. Rainoffs and we might suddenly find the SGP series filmed on a Saturday and shown on a weekday just in case! Gelsenkirchen was a one off and not a typical rain off, (Still a farce though), so that leaves just 2 that I can think of. Sweden a few years ago and then the SWC final this year. I dont expect there to be a great deal of difference on the track prep side of things next year to be honest but lets wait and see.
  4. Haha love this forum sometimes! Gollob spat the dummy, realised and apologised on the podium. Nikki rode a good race and won because hes a world champion, done it in the past, will be back in the future.
  5. Glad to see Ole is still involved with SGP, whether it be a title or active role, speedway would not be as widely seen on TV as it is today without him.
  6. One reason to keep the tracks slick is to allow a smooth flowing meeting in the event of bad weather. Heavy tracks are more liekly to need major work or abandoning, slick tracks can have some more put on far easier.
  7. Peterborough hasnt the facilities for a SGP - It struggled with the SWC with a que for the bar about 100 deep! If they expand the series it needs to be at stadiums that can cope. The German one was a joke too with the daft process to get a drink from the bar with cards that had to be topped up!
  8. Ole was certainly involved in the Cardiff track this year, he spent over an hour working on the cardiff track, in a tractor on the morning of the 2009 SGP.
  9. Gollob always used to do something similar, maybe same reasons. He used to ride back to the pit gate and swop bikes in nearly every race. Cameras always followed it.
  10. Grumpy Crumpy the Ginger Whinger???? mmmm much better???? LOL Well done Nicki. Good to see a select few riders down to pass on their congrats to Nicki, no sign of Leigh Adams the smiler of Speedway
  11. Not really, thats not the main page. go to the m,ain site its advertising the Final GP 2008 but if you go to the german2008 page it does!, same with Cardiff2008.
  12. Should be Smolinski, Holder wouold be a good Wild Card but few others in line before him. Usual cr@p being spouted! Its a German GP with German Wildcard, at least it should be. No doubt its Steves anti Coventry side coming out of him again. Odd really as he spends most of his tim on the Cov threads
  13. Should be applauded for a sensible decision instead of just going and trying to scrape a couple of points. Get well soon AJ
  14. Crumps luck ran out just in time tonight Good to see a forcefull Nicholls in this meeting and nice to see Hans win it. Wonder if he is fit for the next Cov match now??? Nicki seems to have made it difficult for himself, mind you the ref didnt help with the wrong call in the Crump V Pedersen incident, should have it wrapped up anyway though. Shocked by exclusion of Gollob.
  15. Cheers Ballinger Your link working fine for me. Thanks mate.
  16. Add Chris Harris to that list (both of the lists LOL)
  17. The SGP Series is run by British business IMG. Thats why. Mind you, was comical when Gollob carried on in his native language after being asked for something in English!
  18. Well done Greg, pleased to see you take another GP win. Gollob and Nicki were entertaining as usual. Thought Hans was poor, expected more from him doesnt seem as fast as he was before moving to the Bees for the end of 2008. Nichols did better than expected. Thought Glob might have enough in the bike to make more of the final, he almost seemed to be playing with the riders through the heats!! Greg's doing a wonderful job for Monster, they must be chuffed to bits with the publicity he is doing for them.
  19. Agreed, but thats not the point. The riders like Harris, Stead, Schlein should ride any track well, not just the Coventry one. Coventry track is too fair, its not egg shaped or anything dodgy like that its just a race circuit which any rider should perform well on. Looking to the track curator for the blame is a lame excuse IMO. The away team riders can perform on it, the premier league riders who rarely get to ride the track did okay too. Most riders swop team to team nowadays anyway so all tracks should be well known. I can understand the youngsters in the first couple of seasons riding worse away than at home, like Risager but after so long you have to think its the riders not the tracks. Not being convincing on all the different tracks is our biggest issue, if we can't get set up on the Coventry track where many have ridden before, how are we going to attempt a Polish track that some of the team have never seen, or a Danish track like in the Race Off?
  20. It did cross my mind, but we can't be THAT bad surely????? Well maybe LOL
  21. The Brits (English ) riders lack of ability to ride on any track thrown at them is the very reason that we will never go well in the GP series or in the SWC series. As someone else pointed out earlier in the thread, Coventry are also doing very poorly this year so the home track advantage was never a real winner either! And to be fair, whats the point getting to the race off by going through a track doctored to your own tastes anyway. We would be on a high yes, but we would come crashing back down to earth after the first race when riding the slick tracks that for some reason our boys cant quite master!!! We just weren't good enough and I can't see us doing any better in the race off either. Poland 1st, Sweden 2nd followed by the Lame Brits in third place. Close but no cigar I would definitely let some of the younger lads have a go but is it fair to let them when there is less chance of getting through the round anyway. Will it knock there confidence and do more harm than good for them in the future?
