Any news on the team for Tuesday's clash Oxford in the Jubilee league?

Oxford v Plymouth. 6/7/22

Thank you. Shame that because I think this could be a very good meeting. King is an interesting choice by the promotion given his links with Poole and the battle in the playoffs but he's a good rider and you'll struggle to find anyone better for the position needed. Fancy the Glads to get at least a point here. Heat 13 could be worth the admission fee alone: Nicholls, Batchelor, Barker and Andersen. Reserves will be crucial as well, Heeps and Killeen are likely to be strong at home but Morley is in good touch at the moment. The idea of Morley and Gilkes at reserve at some point this season is hopefully something for us Gladiator fans to watch out for. -

Is there a stream for tonight's meeting? Can't seem to find any details of one? -
Harris is the interesting one. Seemed to really enjoy his visits to the colosseum this season and rode the track brilliantly. Personally, unless Crump's average is drastically different I can't see it happening. My idea would be: 1. Lawson 2. ? Maybe a Kelleher? 3. Harris 4. Bowtell 5. Barker 6. Ruml 7. Atkins

I'd also suggest the Ben Barker is likely to back riding in Devon next year, I accept I could be wrong but it's an obvious move for the management. Ben Barker Richard Lawson Alfie Bowtell Dillon Ruml Henry Atkins....

I haven't seen a thread around yet regarding the Gladiators in 2022 so I thought I'd take the bull by the horns. From 2021, we know there's no Bjarne Pedersen. That leaves Crump, Kelleher, Cook, Ruml and Bowtell. We already know Richard Lawson has committed to 2022. Personally I'd be wanting to keep Bowtell and I'd give Ruml a chance as his second half of the season was a massive improvement. Henry Atkins presumably gets a place in the squad as well.

Hi all, Just been flicking through on what's been said about this season. To cut a long story short, I was a regular down at the 'St Boniface Arena' during the Mike Bowden days when the club first stepped into the second tier. I've been away from the sport for nearly 8 years before returning this season. I cannot praise Mark Phillips and his team enough for what they've done to the club. Thoroughly enjoyed being back down at the track this year. Every meeting I've been to has been tight and competitive. I think in an ideal world, we'd all like every track to be perfect and a little bit bigger but there's something quite special about the unique nature of the track down here in Plymouth. Life would be boring if it was the same everywhere surely? No one is right or wrong with their views, that's what is great about sport with everyone allowed a different outlook on things. I think the way the side was built this season, baring in mind at short notice was with one thing in mind, get people through the gates and build up a strong fan base to really kick on next season... that's been successful I think it's fair to say. Crowds have grown every week and in regards to local, good quality sporting action, I'd say its pushing the City's rugby side now to follow behind Plymouth Argyle in regards to somewhere to be to watch sport for the week. I can't wait for next season, I've enjoyed this year so much I'd say there's a fair chance I'll become a season ticket holder for the first time next season. It would seem that Lawson is in the door already with all signs suggesting Ben Barker will return to the city for 2022. I'd like to see Bowtell and Ruml retained. Dillon has improved and progressed every week and Alfie's talent is clear for all to see. A third heat leader is required I'd say and with everything that's gone on down here this year and the ambitious nature of the promotion and sponsors, I'd suggest you'd struggle to find a rider turning down the chance to wear the Gladiators uniform next year. Apologies for the long nature of my post

So it's happening then, us devils (or whatever we'll be called) have a NL team. I as a fan am delighted with the news because i believe the promotion are finally thinking about the future with Plymouth and investing in better young British riders. Who do i think will ride for us? DAVID ABRAHAM (the mascot) i'd imagine will get a position within the 1-7. BEN READE will be a certainty for me, prepare him for PL life. CONNOR COLES will probably get a place within the 1-7 aswell. If they are sticking to their guns of young local british talent for the future then those 3 will be involved. It wouldn't suprise me to see people like PAUL STARKE, LEE SMART, JAMES COCKLE those sort of Ex Devils return aswell............ Exciting times ahead for the Devils or whatever they'll be called

Looking at tomorrow night's Colin Hill Memorial Challenge between the Devils and the Exeter Falcons line up's apart from Chris Harris, could it all be trials for the majority of the riders? For all who don't know the line up's they are: Plymouth: Ben Barker, Steve Boxall, Ricky Wells, Michael Palm Toft, Mark Lemon. Reserves: Jake Anderson, David Abraham. Exeter Select: Chris Harris, Danny Maassen, Ryan Fisher, A N Other, Kevin Doolan. Reserves: Simon Nielsen, Connor Coles.

Haven't seen one of these for us yet so i might aswell get one going. Obviously this all depends on what happens with league structures but i am basing this on the current league format which of course might be retained. So out of the current team who do i expect to stay: Mikkel Bech - NO!It would be unbelievable if MB was to stay but cannot see it myself. I would expect him to be riding in Denmark, Poland and maybe an EL team next year but certainly not in the PL Todd Kurtz - YES! would keep todd all day, always gives you 100% and fits perfectly in this team Rasmus Jensen - YES i would think we'd be looking to keep 'Rasser'. He's done well since coming in and should go alright next season with 1 full year in the main body. Michael Palm Toft - Would have to say NO, it's been difficult for him coming in with only 8 meetings to go and for me in my opinion he hasn't quite done it. Mark Lemon - Gonna stick my neck on the line and say YES. He adds experience into this team and when needed will chip in and help Lee Trigger (i presume) and help with his management opinion. He chips in with valuable points most weeks and after 1 year at the SBA next year he could come good. Jake Anderson - YES! been our best reserve since we joined the PL, he may not get 10+ most weeks like Lewis Kerr or Max Fricke (early season) but he would help out with 5 or 6 rides a night and get 18 bonus points i think, he's coming good at the SBA and is a must have for next year So far then we have: 1...................... 2. Todd Kurtz (4.93) 3. Rasmus Jensen (7.00) 4............ 5. Mark Lemon (6.92) 6. Jake Anderson (3.68) 7............ This leaves 3 spaces to be filled and only 22.53 used out of the 42.50 allocation so 19.97 left for 3 riders Possible number 1's - Obvious choice is BEN BARKER (9.53), rode for 2 years here, local lad who enjoy's the sba and seemed to enjoy the westernapolis last week and rides once again this week. TY PROCTOR (9.22) was just coming good when he got injured and maybe would be worth another go next season or finally EDWARD KENNETT (N/A) Not sure what his average would be but someone i would enjoy seeing flying around the SBA if we ever got lucky and was able to sign him! Possible number 4's - Only 2 real possibilities, CORY GATHERCOLE (6.82) captain cory was a rock in the middle order of the team and it was a real hammer blow when he got injured, i think 9/10 devils fans you ask would was cory back next season! Other choice would be RICKY WELLS (7.43) a top class rider around the SBA, guested a few times at number 1 and did well apart from 1 off night, a top rider who would fit right into the team. Possible number 7's - todd kurtz with JASON BUNYAN (5.77) who was another to be unlucky in his first year in the devils colours. Been going well for Rye House this year and would be a great number 2 with Todd then slotting in at 6 or 7 and renewing a good partnership between himself and 'Ando'. STEVE BOXALL (N/A) who was supposed to be a devil last year would be another good signing either for number 2 again or at reserve depending on average, he would give us a bit of stability and i think could be a dark horse if we go down that route. Another choice and the on i've decided on is PAUL STARKE (3.00) who rides the SBA brilliantly and he showed with Newcastle he can hold his own at the level and chip in with helpful scores, and if thing's arn't going right for him then'll he'll still give 120% for the cause and that's what we need. My chosen 'perfect 7' 1. Ben Barker (9.53) 2. Todd Kurtz (4.93) 3. Rasmus Jensen (7.00) 4. Cory Gathercole (6.82) 5. Mark Lemon (6.92) 6. Paul Starke (3.00) 7. Jake Anderson (3.62) total - 41.82 (0.68 remaining)

Staged at the St Boniface Arena (Plymouth) Friday 20th September 7:15pm start LINE UP: Mark Lemon, Rasmus Jensen, Michael Palm Toft, Todd Kurtz, Jake Anderson (all Plymouth), Ben Barker (Ipswich), Ricky Wells (Sheffield), Ashley Birks (Scunthorpe), Tyson Nelson, Jason Bunyan (both Rye House), Dakota North (Glasgow), Paul Starke (Berwick). I'm going for a Ben Barker win with Rasmus not far behind! Looks a good meeting though compared to the last running
-
I'm finding it really difficult to see where this number is going to come from at the moment. I believe it will be a rider who will double up from the EL, so someone like Nicolas Covatti or Simon Gustafsson? or am i being to ambitious haha
-
I'd imagine now this 28 day period with Seb Alden will be a trial and if he performs he'll sign if not it gives the management time to look elsewhere
-
Proctor, Alden is riding elsewhere as arranged between both clubs, his debut is next Friday
-
Team for Friday- 1. Kozza Smith (G) 2. R/R for Cory Gathercole 3. Mikkel Bech 4. Todd Kurtz 5. Mark Lemon 6. Jake Anderson 7. Simon Nielsen
-
It's Seb Alden! Confirmed in the herald that he signed last night
-
So maybe proctor might be out for even longer. If a change is needed at No 1 until Ty gets fit.. Who would you like to see? Me personally Ryan Fisher or it might be a little optimistic but would Lewis Bridger or Seb Alden fit into this team?
-
I suppose we'd better quickly forget about this year and move onto the next, hopefully the set up will improve and the devils will be able to move forward............ within the 42.5 limit my ideal dream 2013 devils PL line up would be : 1. Ryan Fisher 9.05 2. Ritchie Hawkins 5.09 3. Cory Gathercole 6.51 4. Tyson Nelson 5.33 5. Ricky Wells 6.61 6. Todd Kurtz 4.80 7. Robert Ksiezak 3.58 Total = 40.97 (1.53 remaining) thoughts ??
