Interesting to see who is the Wildcard for Cardiff then, how about Davey Watt? He's good enough to go in our GP according to others on here, why not put him in yours. Or can you name someone better? Living and paying taxes in Aussie -

Why all the worry about the wildcard. When Italy run their GP there is no talk of there's no rider good enough. Our Wildcard will be better than theirs -
Because of noise issues with Speedway in Auckland, we have to submit our race dates six months in advance. We share our ground with a karting track who also have to submit dates, so once set that's it. At that time of submitting dates the GP was still being negotiated - let alone a date for the GP being sorted. Now we know it is here for 3 years we will hopefully be able to work it into our plans. The other point is the same few people involved in making sure the SGP is a success in Auckland are the same few who would need to organise the other meeting. So I think this year it is essential we concentrate on getting the GP right first.

Transponders and all the timing equipment is already used widely throughout NZ for the car classes and sidecars that run on car tracks. Western Springs have had all that on hand for years and all linked to the big screen. transponders are hired by the drivers on the night. School boy Road Cycling have plastic chips that clip onto the forks with cable ties

Yes there was
-
not this one, as racing dates with the council had to be confirmed before GP was announced, but next season we should be able to sort something. There is probably a practice night at Rosebank on the Wednesday before the the GP

Threat To The World Cup
kiwi replied to TwoMinuteWarning's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
But on the plus side you would get a race with two riders on the same side in each race competing instead of 1 rider from each country in a race making it closer to league racing than individual racing. It would also make it more global as countries like the US would be back in and dare I say it NZ. National Teams could go back to Test Matches something that was lost with SWC. again a team format rather than an individual one.
