I don't want to get into another argument but from the 'outside looking in', we (BFD, me, Steve Evans) and notable Danes can see that the problem you have is not the national league, its your junior program or lack of it, the answer is not to get rid of better riders because the are from another country, but look at how they got that good and copy them. It will take 5 years for a junior programme to start to show worth, but until you start you are always going to be 5 years away from seeing an improvement. I know this isn't always possible, but if I was a parent of a british rider I would be offering board to an overseas rider, befriend them, learn from them, you then have an in to visit them, speedway in the off season, it opens up all possibilities.

hey, i haven't a problem with any rider being in the league if he's good enough, but this thread started with a 16yr old being dropped for another 16yr old and not enough places for british riders to learn and develop. The system that is there at the moment is being used by all under the rules, and the best riders will always get the places.

agree, and those aussies are in the league for a season at the very most and out again. whereas, and not picking on him but as an example jon armstrong has had how many seasons in a 'development league'

Dual nationality riding what is the difference between riding as an Aussie in this case and a Brit, its still the same rider, he's still putting out a British rider as you all see it. It I was a team manager of a Premier league team, I think I'd be using my influence to promote the best British national league riders into my team to strengthen the British speedway bloodline. If you want young riders coming through make the age limit 27. Oh but that would put a few old British riders out of a job, but this is a development league isn't. Speedway is about winners..

Pity Barker mucked up the first turn, would have been much better to see a new wildcard at Cardiff, a young GB rider on his way up rather than, the old guard on their way out. GP this year has shown the new young breed starting to dominate, if GB are to catch up, Barker or King would have learnt more from a wild card position.

don't you think you would then argue these kids from overseas are now taking our team GB places. Buxton are great, they give a kid a chance when they improve they let them go onto bigger things, then they get another one and give them a chance. If all National League teams worked like this the Premier league would be full of British riders. At the speed Buxton moves riders on they're wouldn't be enough aussie riders to fill all the empty spots. Kiwis we've only got 88 riders in the whole country, 8yrs old to 71, we can barely get a field of 16 good riders together, and yet you see us as a threat.

The event is an FIM event, so obviously it requires a FIM licence, If a rider is injured or is unfit before the meeting, the place should rightly be taken by the meeting reserve not another brit as a brit was injured. imagine if the meeting reserves were Brits and an Aussie got injured and replaced him with another Aussie. there would be pages of abuse on here
