  1. I'm not spoiling for anything! Just hate the self assured posts on here! The attitude alone would put me off speedway
  2. I'm prepared for the narrow minded, small town backlash
  3. Having read some of the comments in here by people- (overreacting, patronising and nit picking)it's no wonder speedways in decline if this is the attitude of some fans!
  4. Perhaps speedways decline can be pinpointed to the very fact that no young blood promotes the sport! They may be younger than many promoters, however not young enough to understand what teens/young adults enjoy. It's only my opinion so nobody freak out !!!
  5. In my opinion they aren't young!!! I have no idea how old they are but would say that their views and ideas would not be as on trend as a 20 year old for instance!
  6. Get someone younger on the promotion - that's a good start!
  7. Dunno how many times I gotta say it! But speedway needs to move with the times!! Agree???
  8. It's all very well coming up with ideas for reward schemes and the like- but it needs new fans! More people coming through the gates each week- IMO this can only be achieved if the whole presentation of the entertainment at Berwick is changed, given a re vamp, made more appealing to younger people! Who wants to listen to bewitched in 2012?????
  9. Standardised machinery !! That's one way of improving racing - which in turn may lead to new, returning fans!
  10. Making stamp deals etc ain't gonna help IMO, will be the usual crowd attending! The whole package needs to be improved to make people want to come in the first place, that's where promotion should be looking. If I didn't already know speedway was held at Berwick i don't think I would know at all! the promotion of Berwick speedway (or lack of) that I've seen, a few posters up here n there ain't gonna do much to stir interest! Perhaps if the track was grippy and good racing seen on the nights of reduced admission n free kids entry then maybe the crowds would increase. Cos if im honest and I came to watch speedway for the first time at Berwick I doubt I'd return solely because there's a lack of good, close racing! Gate n go is crap to watch!
  11. It needs to get cooler simple as! Nobody young (I'm sure there's plenty bored teens about berwick) would want to listen to the music or announcing that Berwick has at the moment! It's time for the older generation to step aside for the younger ones- if that means playing rock music, giving the place a more edgy feel then do it!! I think fans would increase! Look at the associated themes that go with moto x! its cool, no reason why speedway can't be! I'm 37 and find berwickspeedways presentation of meetings tradgic! Can't imagine what the younger generation think!!!!
  12. Ok well IMO I think the whe sport needs to be made more attractive to younger, you could say cooler crowd! Start with the music at the majority of tracks for instance- it make you cringe 90% of the time! An announcer and person who announces the times that do it in a way that makes it exciting! Speedway us such a high adrenaline sport, that seems to get dragged down with low octain announcing / music! ! A student admission price with alcohol promotions might work! Turning the hospitality suite into an actual bar serving area for all (a place to go when cold) school visits/trips with vouchers being given out for reduced family entry, that's a few suggestions
  13. Surprised not more people have mentioned the track ! Absolutely zero dirt on first/second bends! How can you expect to find grip and speed and passing opportunities on a track that's slick?? The tractors when grading last night were producing sparks when they made contact with the track on first bend!!! Don't know much about track prep but I'm guessing that's not right??
