  1. Just a quick word on this - Lunna's crash was due to a chain snapping. Coty also said after the meeting that his second fall came because he was going faster than the rider in front, who was on the same line as him, and he pretty much had nowhere to go. I think the shape of bends three and four is a big factor, as the momentum automatically carries you to the fence. As Richie said after last week, there's little margin for error on our track. Makes it all the more exciting when Barker does what he does though!
  2. Would you rather that they had soaked it and caused the meeting to be abandoned half-way through?
  3. I can understand many of the frustrations after today - but are you seriously having a go at the staff for the track being a bit dusty in heat one today? If so, that takes the biscuit in terms of moaning for the sake of moaning.
  4. Hi folks, As may of you may be aware, STARs, a supporter-led group in Glasgow, hold two winter events every year with special guests from the world of speedway. This month, we are giving it a slight twist and dedicating our first event to one man - James Grieves. The evening is taking place on November 23, 7pm, in Glasgow's Marriott hotel. There will be lots of great stuff happening on the night as a celebration of the great man's career. If fans from any club around Britain wish to attend, you can pay admission on the night and you'll be made to feel more than welcome. As part of some stuff we're planning, we'd like to get suggestions, comments or memories of some of James' most memorable races. We've already had a lot of the higher profile ones suggested, but are there any others from his time at Wolves, Edinburgh, Redcar, Newcastle or Berwick that us Glasgow fans perhaps wouldn't think of? Any Glasgow fans have a favourite race which might not stand out as obvious? It doesn't even have to be one James won - but his involvement in it stands out! If anyone has any suggestions, please send me a message on here with a couple of details and anything else you wish to say about the race. We'd like to keep things largely under wraps until the night, so please tell me directly rather than commenting on here - though any discussion below about James' races is still welcomed! Cheers, Bryan - on behalf of the STARs committee
