  1. I'm pretty au fait with the rule book and, to this end, would love to know what particular rule (or rules) the Wolverhamton Promotion have broken? If it's purely a case of ethics, then with all due respect to the decent Poole supporters, one or two people on here are making themselves look extremely hypocritical; particularly given events over recent seasons. Tai's inclusion just adds some spice - making a three horse race for the title more exciting. It's good news for the wider sport in general - and is in all probability welcomed by the majority. Just to add, I haven't seen any Belle Vue fans on here yet throwing their dummies out of their prams? That speaks volumes for their excellent club.
  2. Im sure that Swindon need another 'two bob' can't be @rsed Aussie, about as much as I need a tooth abscess!
  3. And yet another thread gets hijacked by the mob from Dorset; and spirals into the blue hole of rhetoric and nothingness. Yawn. zzzzz
  4. Depends if AJ has got over an apparent dose of the trots I guess. Kennett had an headache or something the other week; AJ apparently had food poisoning on Wednesday, and now Zagar has 'tape burns' (never heard of that one before.....aren't they designed to break)? Far cry from my first visit to Hyde Road in 1983. Bo Petersen rode with two broken ankles; and still gave PC and Morts a run for their money. He had to be lifted onto his bike; and after each race, tears were rolling down his cheeks through pain as he returned to the pits. The sport these days is farcical enough with the custodians being clueless - let alone riders now going AWOL. I truly think, in many cases, the only thing they are suffering from is Can't Be@rsed'itis.
  5. Be interesting to see what Cook says on the mic. Best 'stand-up comedian' in Essex since Jimmy Jones! STOP PRESS: From our club's website............R/R for Belle Vue's Matej Zagar. Ongoing 'issues' with tape burns to his neck - I kid you not! www.lakesidehammers.co/hammers-v-aces-meeting-preview/
  6. I wouldn't actually disagree with that statement. Now, let me see - what's the common denominator.............?
  7. No doubt even more so in the 'Brexit Tory obsessed heartlands' of Dorset......particularly amongst the Daily Mail reading 'blue rinse/50 shades of grey' population, eh mate?
  8. Superb news for Cov Bees Supporters and UK Speedway. So very, very pleased that the Lakeside clash will not be the last meeting I witness at your historic, superb Brandon Stadium. We all have our own recollections and happy memories of this place. Mine was taking my first drive up the M1 in 1982, to watch my beloved Hackney Hawks get a usual drubbing. But it was worth every mile. I'd never have thought that years later, I'd be living just a few miles away from it! Every time I visit Brandon, the walk from the car park to the turnstiles takes me back 30+ years; when life was so less complicated but oh so much more fun. If memory serves me right, you had to pay extra (20p?) to get into the main stand seating, then another 20p to go to the enclosed bar area? I remember my old man saying "I need to go for a pee, but I daren't move.......gawd knows how much that's gonna cost me"! Here's hoping for a long-term solution to the problem; but at least for now, it gives all relevant parties time to look at alternatives. UK Speedway would just not be the same without Coventry. I wish you every future success.
  9. It will go the way of the majority of our other away performances over the past 4-5 years: - Start pretty well whilst keeping it close. - Maybe even have a couple of points lead by Heat 6(ish). - After the interval, (Spin) Doctor Cook & Mr. Motivator Tatum will have run out of travel sickness pills. - We will subsequently collapse from thereon in.........generally losing by something around 12 - 14 points. The following day, our website will communicate how "it was a disappointing result" that "we must improve our away performances" but "riders will be spoken to" and no doubt "we realise that to keep our play-off hopes alive, we need to pick up points on the road" (10/10 for stating the bleedin obvious)! Different month, different away track.........same utter management drivel. But no doubt, we aren't the only team in that position.
  10. But only if he is partnered with Hans Andersen at Number 7. Meanwhile, the 'grinning gink' Hancock will come is as number 2. Doubt it? Seriously, nothing these days would surprise me. Meanwhile, Mr. Fraud will outline his 'discontent' with the EL and outline his vision for the UK's Speedway future (with full support of the Dorset grey/blue-rinse brigade) - whereby we have blazing sun for the 6 week school holiday; Lyons Tea Houses on every Dorset street corner; wool shops will reappear in the Dorset high streets and, meanwhile, Captain Mainwaring will be ready with his Enfield rifle; behind a stack of sandbags on the South coast border. Oh how wonderful Speedway would be without 'Johnny Foreigner' (despite the fact that year after year, Poole depend upon 'Johnny Foreigner). Simply loving it!
  11. It may also look big and open on Sky...........when Mr. Cook, in his infinite wisdom, decides to charge full price for admission. Our recent match on Sky undoubtedly looked the most sparse of anywhere I've seen them present from this season. SCB is right in saying that Arena is 'big and open' and there's very little that the promotion can do about it as they do not own the stadium. That said, to expect people to turn up, during a spell of cold, wet indifferent weather and charge them full price to potentially get wet and/or freeze their gonads off, needs a big incentive to do so (in my opinion). Anyway, mustn't say anything too negative about Standartenführer Cook, or he'll try and get this forum closed down as well. As for the two PL meetings. I found them both a breath of fresh air! Clearly the racing could have been better; and indeed should have been - given the teams involved within each fixture. However, that's a chance I guess the Sky producers have to take. In any event, I can't see the EL League surviving anyway beyond 2017/18 in it's current format - so the 'Hoi Polloi' (particularly from Dorset) had better get used to it.
  12. I think it's more a case of the average speedway fan being of an age whereby Alzheimer's would not enable them to get past the third letter!
  13. - Bombing up and down the motorways to away fixtures on Saturdays, following my beloved Hackney, and seeing speedway bikes strapped to the back of cars (riders seemed to have a particular love of Citroen estates). - As already mentioned - tape touching; replaced with the current process which entails numerous restarts and does anything other than speed up the meeting. - Speedway Mail - always preferred it to The Star. - Admission prices that were reasonable AND for more than 15 heats.......spread out over 2 hours!
  14. That's OK. We are quite good at losing away from home............whatever the weather or temperature.
  15. Pure rhetoric from a mercenary that turned his back on British Speedway; and subsequently became part of the problem with our top-tier within the sport (i.e. a lack of World-class riders). Remains however, in his role as a mercenary, available 'to the highest bidder' - thus enabling them to secure a league title. And then patronises Coventry Supporters to 'fight for their stadium'. With all due respect Mr. Hancock, I'm sure that there are many doing a darn sight more to achieve this goal than giving an interview to a local newspaper! What an annoying (grinning) bloody hypocrite.
  16. I thought that 'The Fat Controller' was re-assigned his duties by his bro - from being track curator to having sort out the drainage problems on the dog track, a few years ago? Something else he's cocked up?
  17. Introducing noiseless bikes would do nothing other than cause such utter confusion on the terraces - given that around 75% of today's speedway crowd either have hearing aids, or are well on their way to going deaf.
  18. The red one at The White House apparently does. Worringly, someone made the basic assumption that the likes of Reagan & Bush (Snr/Jnr) could actually read.
  19. I have to chuckle when I read this oh so overly used phrase these days - 'threatening AND abusive language' (or behaviour). Would someone care to explain the actual difference? Isn't it the case that if someone acts in a threatening manner, then it's clearly abusive anyway? And if something is deemed to be abusive, that it is also automatically threatening - particularly as far as the recipient is concerned? Sorry to be pedantic. Getting back on track - the fine imposed by the SCB is truly incredible; and I'm quite certain, could not be justified in a court of law. For a £300 penalty to increase to £7,500 represents an increase (if my sums are correct) of 2,500%! I would love to see the SCB's rationale for this increase; particularly given the initial fine imposed v the severity of the alleged misdemeanour(s). They truly are an utter embarrassment to this sport; and undoubtedly, one of the biggest contributory factors for its sad demise here within the UK.
  20. Words from a man, who's very promotion that he worships, has done more harm to EL Speedway than every other club combined - and that takes some doing! And how utterly laughable that he mentions 'the development of British riders'. Absolute hypocrisy at its finest.
  21. To be fair though, don't most people with an ankle tag need to be home indoors by 9pm at weekends?
  22. Well done Leicester Speedway Club. Any truth to the rumour that Ranieri was in the pits?
