Gelsenkirchen Off !
wjasica replied to smartace's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
We went last year and as you mentioned above it was a poor GP, this was the very reason we decided to give it a miss. plus all the reasons you mentioned. You are spot on. I would have been livid it I had gone yesterday and come across this farce. -

Final Gp, From Germany
wjasica replied to Steve Turner's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
[i with lots of fellow Poles coming out of the stadium on Saturday were complaining about the track and the poor racing ( If that was what you could call it) The PA system was useless, only could hear anything by heat 19. Getting into the stadium was a nightmare, and then the stewards who were checking you looked like OAP's. Lots of us were complaining that we had paid over the odds for our seats, when their were far cheaper ones available. We all bought into the idea of the 100th GP and the prize money would provide for a exiting finale to the GP season. How wrong we were, yes it was mainly down to the poor showing of TG, etc. How long before we get fed up with the way Olsen keeps doing the tracks and producing boring racking, but clean advertising. I will certainly think about what GP's I will attend next year. -
Brilliant meeting, plenty of exitement, however for a first class venue, the PA system was hopeless. Could not hear anything. Tried to change seats so that we could hear and was told by the stewards it was not allowed. Stewards told me that the best they could do was radio through to the control centre. Even the big screeen did not show who was riding until late on in the meeting. They need to do something about the it next year.

I think a lot of what you say is correct. In particular to the competitiveness of the EL in that different race nights, the second nature of getting the setup right, all leads to being sharp and ready for any occassion and any track. In regard to the EL being the best, this is where I have lots of arguements with my fellow Poles, who seem to think that Polish is best. It may be the best in regard to exicting speedway and entertainment. But it has not been able to produce riders who can adapt to the different tracks and setups in a way that the Scandinavians and Aussie riders seem to able to manage.

I watched the Final on TV, and in my opinion Lindback was at fault in the semi. Sure there was some elbowing going on, but the fact is that Miskowiak was in the lead going into the bend, Lindback tried a wild burst up the inside and lost control resulting in both riders coming off. Clearly Lindback hit Miskowiak it was not the other way round. As for the track being set up for the Poles, yes I agree, but did not the Danes do the same for the World cup last year.
-
I am told from one who was there that Lindbaeck actually fenced Miskowiak and the decission from the ref. was OK. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No No No! That is absolute rubbish! Didn't you watch it on TV? It was on satellite. Lindback was clearly leaned on to such an extent he had to fall. The ref got it wrong. I don't begrudge the guy his title. The Poles set the track up perfectly for their home riders, but to have the ref side with the home guys as well does give them a bit of an unfair advantage. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can't recieve Polish SAT channels. But as I said I was told that Lindbaeck was on the inside of Moskowiak and lost control of the bike, as he often does, and then fenced Miskowiak. I just wonder what match you have been seeing, as my informations are from two different sources watching the match in live. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Miskowiak has a very good chance to win.

In the papers last week I read that the Austrian referee who ruled out Sol Campbels goal for England in Euro 2004, also recieved death notes and that he had been beaten and had his car vandalised. I hope we are not going down this route, since Speedway prides itself on being fair.

Rempala.............!
wjasica replied to Trapper's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Touted by everyone that wasn't Polish. One of my friends out there couldn't believe that he was in the u-21's and said he was awful - looks like he was right. Kujawa was never regarded as the next great hope, for the following reasons. Never had any sponsorship, Wasn't liked at Zielona Gora. Rafal Kurmanski Jarek Hampel K. Kasprzak. Okoniewski Jankowski. The fact that he was well behind all those above riders in the pecking order. -
Rempala.............!
wjasica replied to Trapper's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I have been told that the bikes he was using were looked after by his British mechanic and that his Polish tuner was coming over on Friday, even had his plane booked, but then the Polish manager decided to put in Rempala and Walasek decided to go back to Poland on Friday. -
What absolute and total rubbish. I have never ever known a race to be stopped because someone loses a chain or because the ref thinks there might be an accident. What do you want next, indicators on bikes. Get real. In regard to Kolodziej's lost chain, the ref had the red light on within a second of him losing control. I have never seen this happen before. How many times has a rider fallen off and no red light been shown until it is clear that the rider is not getting up.

Swiderski isn't the same standard as Janusz? Well he might be at Wroclaw where Janusz didn't get a point in May. He's back in early August at Wroclaw so we ought to get an idea of whether this is going to be a "bogey" circuit for him then. As far as Swiderski being a long way behind Janusz - dunno haven't seen him ride but the stats don't suggest a big gap. Swiderski 6.41 - Miskowiak 7.77 (but a lower average than Swiderski at Wroclaw!) - Janusz Kolodziej 7.59. There's not too much difference there I would say. But, Crazy Munchie, it would seem we both want the same winners. Matej Zagar is a class touch and an undoubted future GP regular in my book. I think he'll go all the way and I think Bjerre, Lindback and Kolodziej will too. Schlein can also join then on top form, but I would make Bjerre the favourite. He has top class experience everywhere and the formbook says Dane! Go Matej! (or Janusz!) I have watched a bit of Swiderski this season on TV, and I must say the lad is not a bad gater. He doesnt always come first, but he is always in the 2nd & third places. Whereas Miskowiak has more wins. Kolodziej will win a lot or come last.
-
Are you suggesting that the Polish riders will get favourable treatment Garf and that they will be "dirty" when you talk about being on the "safe side"? I don't think it matters where the final is being held. If a rider is good enough to win it they will. Over the last few years Poles have won the U21 away from Poland. But to say that they are riding dirty is unfair, considering that the consences is that Danes are riding unfair. NP is world champion at it.

Who will be the chosen 5 for their Countries?
wjasica replied to JT's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think Jagus should be in the team instead of Ulamek and Pepe should be dropped after his display at Cardiff.
