  1. It's a vicious circle. People bemoan the lack of English talent while sponsors throw money at foreigners. Young Brits will get there if given a fraction of the backing that overseas riders get.
  2. I was following the Kent official twitter feed. There were fallers / tape breakages in each of the first six heats plus restarts for broken tapes in heat 4&6 I got fed up trying to follow it. All I asked is why there seems to be so many fallers at the Kent track every week
  3. You missed my point. Twitter is faster than the updates site. I got fed up as apart from heat 7 which had RR. every other heat has either had a re start or a fall. I don't know of any other track that has so many fallers.
  4. Tried following the match on twitter but I think every heat has had a stoppage of some kind. Got fed up in the end. What is it at Kent. It's like that every week
  5. Can someone explain the point in making the track completely different between practice and racing ? Why bother with practice in the first place if you're gonna bloody change it !!
  6. How comes nearly every speedway thread soon descends into an almost train spotting level of percentages and averages ? I fear my son has got into this sport at a time where it's just about to disappear up its own exhaust pipe with an almost lemming like tendency to shoot itself in the foot as far as over complicated rules go
  7. My son (Adam Ellis ) represented GB in the U21's in both Italy and Poland this year. Did he even stand half a chance of breaking even, let alone making any money ??? No chance. But in our mind its international experience and should be grabbed with both hands, and if you don't like travelling then you're in the wrong sport. With the GB test being held in the UK it does look as if cook could be shooting himself in the foot as far as future selection may go. Time will tell I suppose
  8. I'm stuck 1,000 kms away but this is a match I'd love to have seen
  9. Adams first meeting at no 1, Tom back, should be good .
  10. So where are all these moto x engines going to come from and what do riders do with the engines they've already got ?
  11. I just used Tom as an example. But if there aren't any suitable Brits out there, one has to ask why ??
  12. It's the vicious circle isn't it Not enough good Brits ( although Tom perry etc are available) " ahh but he's not good enough" the fans will cry So we leave him ( and others) without the means to compete and improve, then ......... Moan that there aren't any good Brits etc ..... Never mind there's lots of foreigners out there who can fill the places I suppose
  13. But when you do get good English riders coming through they usually don't get the help with vans/ accommodation that the foreign guys seem to get
  14. Rasmus Jensen. That's a good British name !! Nice to see clubs giving young British riders the chance to improve eh ?
  15. Unfortunately that's exactly what you have to do if you want to improve
  16. you love "defending your corner" but ........... both riders got fined for the pits handbags Ben accepted it Cook didn't He spat out his dummy and got thrown out of the meeting for being a cock, He himself admitted it. Why after all these pages does it seem soooo hard for you to accept it ? Just take your fishing rod and go and sit by a loch somewhere, your refusal to accept it's not a conspiracy is getting tedious beyond words, if you aren't trolling then you're just incredibly dense
  17. Yes. He took his punishment, didn't smash up the changing room and didnt get thrown out
  18. 26 pages and probably only about four posts on the actual meeting itself, ever wondered why Joe Public thinks that speedway fans are a bunch of saddo's ??
  19. Hmmmm. A 4,000 km + round trip ??? I think I'll go to that meeting.
  20. If Ben can "push buttons" , more fool Cook for falling for it. I have many friends who are professional rugby players. Before every match they study videos if the opposing team to look for weaknesses. If they identify someone who's easily wound up they target him in the hope he'll lose it and end up sun binned for ten minutes. It's all part of gamesmanship. If Cook lost it after being spoken to by the ref that's not Bens fault. I've only spoken to Ben a couple if times and found him approachable and willing to help. Rather than criticising him maybe he could be a clever bugger who knows just how to get under an opponents skin.
