Michael Lee Charged With Rape
Jonny the spud replied to Elephantman's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Jeeez. This topic has had more lines on this forum than any news company could be bothered with. Even the tabloids with their love of seeing celebreties and sports stars get their comeuppance can't be bothered with the case. Just goes to show how far our beloved sport has fallen. Is it really THAT interesting a thread to warrant all these pseudo leal eagles coming on here to give us their learned opinions ? On a related note ( and just as boring I suppose ) the teacher who ran off with the girl we couldn't name ( <removed - YOU might be willing to get charged over a stupid ruling in UK law but WE wont on your behalf>) was caught in my pub in Bordeaux. It was my daughter who recognised him and set up the sting. Funny old world eh ? -

It's the viscious circle for Adam. To up your average you need good equipment. This years equipment was secondhand at the start of the year, there's been quite a few thousand spent keeping the van on the road Ok now he has some experience of British speedway it's the search for sponsors before next season and they're not exactly falling from the trees. I know some people expressed disappointment after the pre season hype, but he is still only 17 and every track he visited this year ( with the exception of two) was for the first time. Broken bones need to heal and the loooong search for sponsorship starts. ( even if the format for next years leagues isn't yet decided) -
Air Fence Safety Performance - Research?
Jonny the spud replied to Elephantman's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Elephantman. Just a quick question. Have you ever raced speedway ? -
That would be a shame as no one stops riding unless they really have to, just look at Ben's comebacks this year after some horrendous crashes. I know that Adam actually put off having his wrist plastered for several days and has since looked into removing it after a week to try out and see if he can hold on, these guys just don't want to let the team down so for the fans not to show up would be a bit demoralising for the riders that are able to be there .

Ellis out Tungate out Lanham out Barker out This has been a long year but obviously not meant to be. Proud to have been a witches supporter this year. Roll on 2014

In his opinion he had one of his best games .... My post was tongue in cheek, being accused of posting rubbish by you is about 2358th on the list of things I give a rats arse about. Anyone who thinks a rider doesn't do his best everytime he rides has never swung a leg over a bike. It's not tiddlywinks out there

If you played hungover, you were hardly giving it your best shot were you ? If you knew you had a game you'd have stayed sober. Obviously cheating the public .... Poor show
-
I think we've all got by now that you don't LIKE the play offs, but do you HAVE to keep using capitals to make us believe everything you write is FACT ?

Looking at the islanders string of injuries this year. I'm amazed they've done this well. Their team now looks nothing like the starting 7 and most riders have missed a meeting or two with injuries. It's a credit to the riders and management that they've managed to keep a competetive team in the hunt throughout the season. -

Well done Kent. Deserved win my first time at this track and it was a bit worrying that the base of the track was showing through the shale after heat one on the first bend. Is this normal ? -

Not tuned. No special parts. Just put together right -
Aren't all these 2014 threads jumping the gun a bit considering the league set ups haven't been thrashed out yet ? If there is a minimum Brit rule / combined EL-PL, I can see a lot of clubs pulling back there assets to cover themselves.

Rider Size, How Much Does It Matter?
Jonny the spud replied to manchesterpaul's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
My 17 year old son is six foot tall and still growing. I think he weighs about 68-70 kg which isn't light. He raced against Dimitri Berge in the French 250 grass track championships and was at a bit of a disadvantage as Dimi is knee high to a grasshopper and weighs 51 kgs. -
It doesn't help riders trying to attract sponsors if they can't say where / what league they'll be riding in either.

Glasgow V Ipswich Pl Sun 25th Aug 2013@3p.m.
Jonny the spud replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
after being taken out heavily in his second ride and with the abysmal state of the stoke track which saw many fallers he decided to pull out He did drive to Glasgow and after being unable to find a hotel ended up sleeping in the van. Hardly ideal preparation but he's up for it.
