  1. Not harsh at all, i live in a different country to where my son rides, (your club ! ) I've racked up thousands of miles and have spent tens of thousands of euros over the years on speedway and grasstrack. People will always moan, (and sometimes with reason) but TWK doesn't do speedway anymore but won't stop moaning over it. Stop looking back and see what can be done to improve the sport, not whining about 2 valve Jawa's and Black leathers.
  2. I've only been to 4 meetings this season...... But then again my nearest track is over 1,200 kms away. The likes of TWK will always find a reason not to go, just leave them in their 1950's bubble and look forward.
  3. FTR's on £450 a match minimum ? news to me !
  4. No need to apologise to me, i just look forward to you telling Adam he should have a look at himself for his lack of effort (your words). If you have the balls to do it that is ?
  5. The market tavern 15 rue Rode 33000 Bordeaux Come and watch it and I'll shout you a round.
  6. First I've heard of it , (and probably Adam too, I don't know he's in Poland)
  7. Practice was rained off so we went in blind, you can bet the Poles have practiced on that track many times in the last few weeks. At the end of the day you're racing against countries with bottomless pockets budget wise, when they have a stable of brand new highly tuned motors to chose from. It's sad but true.
  8. opinions are like ar$eholes, everybody's got one.... most though are full of $hit
  9. It's Anton Nischler, when he built my engines he used his own home developed camshafts and pistons, as well as different head porting there's loads of different ways to get more power / different characteristics from the same engines. When I stopped racing he was working on his own carbs too.
  10. Sun delays ARE an important thing, imagine riding a bike with no brakes, with three others around you a solid wall on the outside at 60 mph while someone throws dirt at you then all of a sudden you have to close your eyes. Unless you've actually been there it doesn't bear thinking about.
  11. TWK has been a wind up for years, he has no intention of ever going to speedway again. He just prefers to moan on an internet forum about "the good old days", which is why he's all over the Brexit threads like a rash. It's the 1960's all over again, bleedin' foreigners etc .....
  12. As i said on a previous post, instead of the BSPA wasting money on the GTR's (like I did) invest in some PJR GM's, loan them out to our best young prospects and send them to Poland for a weeks training with Tai.
  13. Make sure you get down to near Bordeaux, it's the place to be if you want to see some racing.
  14. At the end of last season there were calls to keep Adam Ellis and Kyle Newman, the two young riders who dragged Poole into the playoffs and were looked upon as a good base for building a young team. With Kurtz and the Younger Holder it was considered by many fans to be a great start in team building. Can't help but have a wry smile here.
  15. Having had personal experience of CL's "management" style. (ie telling you one thing at 10.30 at night, then dropping you in the $hit 12 hours later) Nothing surprises me. Should be interesting in the pits at Foxhall.
  16. They go off song quickly, anyone who's got them running good isn't sharing info, i know of a few riders who've bought them and sold them on as they're a bugger to set up. I've also seen my first tuned one with different cams and a higher revving ignition. same old same old
  17. there's me looking for info on the meeting and all i get is two guys flirting. Just get a room FFS
  18. I've had that happen quite a few times with Brits on stag weekends in one of my pubs
  19. You don't have to do anything wrong to be dropped by Poole, just being a young English rider and giving your all for the club seems to be reason enough.
  20. "aren't we told" WTF does that mean ? by all means expose riders to big pressure meetings, but when you're competing against bottomless budgets i don't care how good you are it's not gonna happen . GTR's ? ... maybe they'll work in a few years but not yet. Adam wanted to ride in the euro championships but the BSPA wouldn't allow it ! Adam also spends a fortune riding in the Polish 2nd division, German league , the fledgling French league and any individual meetings he can get . unwilling ?? have a word with yourself !
  21. When you see on twitter Polish riders testing 5 or 6 brand new GM's mid season on well prepared tracks whenever they want, THAT'S the difference. Instead of the BSPA wasting money on GTR's, ( I just bloody wasted money on one), use some of the SKY money to pick our brightest young prospects, buy them two well sorted GM's each and send them on a camp to Poland for a fortnight. with decent technical support (yes even Tai if he's willing). That will bring better results than the endless year after year hand wringing. It's called investing in the future, oh and try letting them ride in Euro championships as well !!
  22. last years European U21 final was in France, 3 miles from where Adam was born, he knew the track, he knew the crowd, he even knew most of the track staff by name ! It would have been great experience of European big meetings for any young Brits who managed to qualify. Matt Ford even approached the BSPA to see if we could enter riders. All requests were turned down and no one took part, are the deliberately trying to deny our youngsters opportunities to ride abroad ?
  23. saw my first tuned one last night , it's been fettled and had different camshafts, and so it continues .............
