Eurosport seem pleased with their speedway coverage. Asked Premier Sports if they would be overing it in 2014 and gort this reply - Thank you for contacting Premiersports – Channel 428. Unfortunately we have no plan in showing the Swedish speedway this year on the channel. It appears that Euro sport has taken on the right to show it this year and onward. Please do let us know if you still need additional info by replying to the same email.

It takes some shine off the GP to lose Emil, and also Mr Gollob. Good luck to Troy but I think he will struggle. -

Thank you Brian for that insight and I hope the Brummies crowds go up. In Reading we have a council that has really wanted speedway. But stadium owners with an appalling record in Bristol and Milton Keynes who a few years ago wanted to kick out the Swindon Robins from Blunsdon and have them ride home matches at Reading. Two clubs might now be closed had that happened. Sadly I expect to see pigs fly before speedway returns to Reading . And sadly BSI were a promotional disaster with their Bulldogs, overspending and embarrassing PR. Clarke Osbourne always wants others to build a new greyhound stadium for him. Be glad his company only lease Poole Stadium from the local authority! -
Agree. At Swindon I can see Gustafsson having a great year. Klindt, depends on whether he has got his bottle back. The Kid may lose his HL spot but will win it back. The choices in the NL draft will be very influential and even decisive. Not sure it helps KL who were my tip to get their first ever EL title Expect 1-5 changes at Belle Vue(Palm -Toft, should have been Birks),and Poole. The new formula hits Brummies and Leicester who dont look clever anyway, It helps Wolves. Also no cover for Heat 9 if a NL draft rider gets hurt. And do we still have fixed gate positions or do we go back to the best rider taking what he wants - at Reading Schwartz and Andersson were selfish on this.

I would have thought Cardiff and Swansea are the only Welsh cities that might support speedway, given the fate of Newport. For all his critics Tim Stone built a decent stadium and track shape but after three years it never got the crowds. Isn't there an old athletics stadium on the way into Cardiff City Centre? That might have been Cardiff's fourth venue pre-WW2 SCB?

He said he was fit to ride in last Thursday's Speedway Star, and is keen to help Worrall and Ritchings. You see Rosco as the 21'st century Cliff Richard driving a double decker - magic thought Orlov! Does anyone know what the car park charge is this year? -
Coventry Stadium Sold

The late John Berry predicted this scenario in Backtrack a few years ago. And, to be fair, the place has been for sale for very many years back to the Ochiltree family. A bad day for Coventry and for speedway. -

A bit long in the tooth to be starting out as a team manager? mind you his brother Ronnie is a referee who must be due to be retired soon. -
Well with a passport and NI number that should not take you 5 minutes. It suggests your employer does not pay below the minimum wage and does pay, at least some, UK tax. Perhaps you should also visit Australia and see the restrictions put on YOU. I feel UKIP are where half the Tories would like to be, but value their MP salary and expenses too much. One concession, I would have a pint with Mr Farage, and I dont think he'd give an honour to a hairdresser who attempts to cover his bald spot!

Who Was The Most Frustrating Rider?
remembertheracers replied to Ommer Mon's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Justin Elkins without doubt Also Finn Rune Jensen, at times magnificent but more often embarrassing. At a higher level Kai Niemi and Jimmy Nilsen, world class riders who never seemed to reproduce their form regularly in the league over the years. -
Guess that is why the sponsors and Rosco had to save them? Than god they did we have lost Reading, still undeveloped, and Oxford where the money men want to make a killing. Cant see Fatty Pickles (Tory tubby) turning the appeal down either - he'd be better off holding up the repaired railway line in Dawlish. A good bung could do it//// Just be glad Swindon didn't go under. It nearly did under the awful Mawdsley and perhaps naive Vowles.

You can remove the question mark against Nick Morris and add Darryl Ritchings for Swindon. -

Good luck to Darryl. While Reading took several league titles over the years I dont think we ever had a local boy making the grade. It took a while but a good call from Rosco. -

Rosco - Give the boy a chance in the same way someone did with you 30 years ago, There is hardly anyone better out there anyway. Also I think Stevie Worrall will surprise a few that seem to write him off.... -
Five More Years Of El Speedway On Sky
remembertheracers replied to Steve0's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The sport and the BSPA, together with individual promoters and riders must grab this and work to make it a more attractive night out.. Frankly this is a chance that last year's product did not deserve... As for the presenters' critics I can only say show us someone better in speedway today. Pearson, Louis and Tatum are good. Ermolenko and Charlie Webster are not and you could find better methinks. -

With both Jason Doyle and Alex Davies rumoured to be most unlikely to get visas it looks like there are two spots for young Nick in the PL. Seems like Aussies are going to have to take greater care on their visa position. -
Favourite Closed Tracks
remembertheracers replied to Drop Dead Fred's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
My obvious reaction is to say Reading Smallmead, but many old timers say Tilehurst was more technical and atmospheric. Being neutral I'd say the marvellous little St Austell/Trelawny track at the Clay Country Moto Parc. My father reckons Southampton was terrific too. -

I am sure Morris would have had a gig in the PL by the end of March. However the EL expected to have first rights over the PL, taking out one of their top stars in any fixture clash. A shame Rosco put lodger Morris above Doyle methinks, where the same would apply. For weeks it has been obvious it could only be Leicester and Sheffield for the kid. So I guess its recall Mads and please come back Ashley Birks, who is a show in at Belle Vue And is Josh Bates the next through the Blunsdon revolving door? If it is Ritchings or Reade should come in, but please god not Lee Smart. Let Morris and the puppet string pullers sod off and go without him. Its time Swindon Speedway stood up for their fans p -

My guess is Leicester and Sheffield. I have to say the way Swindon have conducted their business over the last year is deeply unimpressive. The way they handled the Birks situation was dreadful, great lad, decent prospect and Belle Vue with 3.13 left have nothing to lose by including him. Also signing Doyley and not using him for two seasons stinks - great team man, good rider still improving. Mind you if I don't go to crumbling Blunsdon from Reading my nearest track is Lakeside. Tranquilisers please or speedway only on Premier Sports for me... Me thinks Rosco and even Patch were beguiled by the farmers daughter at Somerset, delicious Debbie... And do the Rosco's need another lodger with his full time driving job and Swindon Speedway? -

Birks has a 3.06 average, which is subject I guess to a 2.5% British reduction? My feeling is that Swindon should not have committed until the rest of their team was in place, and that they have let the lad down. Surely given the nature and severity of his injuries at Plymouth, he should have been allowed into the draft. Doesn't Kyle Newman have more experience. Give Ashley a lift. Mind you isn't he a shoe in for the last spot at Belle Vue? -

Klindt looked to have lost his bottle last season unless he could get a roller, and got away with it a few times it on Sky at Birmingham. If the refs twig him putting in a NL draft reserve wont be a good replacement. -

Probably Birks or maybe Gustafsson or Zengota for Swindon. Who on earth would want "I'm injured Oliver" over Nick even if another adjustment is needed? -
Lee Smart will start well but is considerably overweight and has flopped repeatedly over several years, Not Matty's sort of boy? Rather have Ritchings if he gives up the fags(cancer tubes).
