  1. Just a bit of input from me,..don,t like speedway tracks closing,..still miss the old Perry Barr track use to have a regular crowd of about 6000.Always a great atmosphere!!!! Anyway why don,t they try and sell all the houses/flats that are for sale (as advertised below ... today !!). before they build any more???
  2. A quick check on who will miss what match. Hume will not miss any match, (touch wood ) not taking in re_arranged rain off dates. Daveys dates below, not too bad ,only 2 league matches missing ?? , HOME AWAY DAVEY May 23 I O W LGE RYEHOUSE A June 13 BUXTON NT LEICESTER A August 1 CRADLEY NT SOMERSET A 22 PLYMOUTH NT POOLE A 27 KENT LGE POOLE H Just a Quick check so don,t rely on thees dates but it will probably rely on the weather i think??
  3. Its great that Liam is back on board, but i would prefer him riding!!... Good luck to him though.. As for Davey, he has 11 Swindon fixtures on a wednesday out of 22 available home dates for the Brummies up till September, i think we will only have 2 or 3 Tuesday meetings, no worry for me as i used to attend the old PB on a Monday and i think a Friday?, why do teams miss a Tuesday for fixtures i don,t know.... Biggest worry is Hume,s Ipswich away fixtures as he rides on a Thursday 25 times, a Sunday 3 times and Saturday once, think we will miss him away quite a few times.!!!!? unless the fixtures are worked out perfectly.
  4. Well said Rob , i agree totally.
  5. I like the way he says he will try and get NL place and go back and haunt David. 21 point max at PB . My new year prediction.
  6. This is what JPB says on his website. LATEST NEWS JACK COMMENTS ON 2018 PLACEMENT DISSAPPOINTMENT Devastated could be the only way to describe Jacks reaction to the news that he wasn't in new Birmingham owner David Mason's plans for 2018. Jack went on “Although David Mason said in the press a few weeks ago he could not guarantee me a team place for next season I sort of assumed it would all come together. Birmingham was the only NL team I wanted to ride for and when David told my Granddad of his decision it came has a massive shock. I am gutted to be leaving such a great club and want to stress there has been no falling out. Terms were never discussed it's purely David wants to put his own stamp on the club and I have to accept that although I am bitterly disappointed and there is no animosity. I wish him and the team every success. I have had the best time ever I love everything about the place the track and the supporters are amongst the best in the sport. I take away some brilliant memories and being part of the record breaking team in 2017 was unbelievable. I would also like to say a massive thanks to Graham and Denise Drury who helped and looked after me so well. It was a massive boost for me the faith Graham showed in me and making me Captain last year was a massive privilegeand I gave it everything and was desperate to win something and get into the play offs but we fell just short. Everything happens for a reason I am really looking forward to riding for Glasgow in the Championship and hopefully I can get another team place in the NL and hopefully come back to haunt David and make him regret his decision. Birmingham will always have a special place in my heart, and I would like to thank everyone who have sponsored me and all the Perry Barr public, who have supported me. Time to move on to a new challenge.
  7. Am i a bit slow ???. Everybody are making teams up with just Shanes in the team!. Where is the other Brit ??? Has the 2 Brits rule gone ???.
  8. If the leagues stay the same next year no relegation playoffs please, its so stupid. Because the year after ,both teams will build up or build down to suit their league. Whats the point of it at all. Its time the annual general meeting had ALL the teams in Britain to vote on a 3 year plan to get speedway back on track!!! Trophy for relegation playoffs HA HA HA. Watched the footy and speedway side to side on my laptop then muted Pearson when needed..............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Speedway Needs ------------------------- 1 Two nights a week racing days for each league (premier/championship) ......3 for National,!! 2 Team averages should always be 45.00,in all leagues , there are 90 points a match so why go below that?? 3 Premier league squad system (teams name 9 riders ,including 2 riders from Championship for cover) . 4 3 British riders in each team squad. 5 Old tactical subs. (2 allowed).?? 6 No double headers. (Kings Lynn learnt the hard way). 7 Organized league System,as football>> (prem/champ/national) If relegation DO it don,t run it for a laugh. I would Love to see 3 Leagues of 10 teams (National including reserve teams for the big boys.
  10. Like somebody remarked, it should not come to double headers. Do not the teams give a list of available racing dates to the fixture secretary before the season starts ?? They should all be able to get their matches in to stop this double bubble happening... The fixture secretary needs changing,a lot of teams moaning about going 3 weeks without a home fixture, and as of now and past seasons teams trying to cram in maybe 2 matches a week.
  11. Poole 2018 1 Pugh 2 Pugh 3 Barney Mcgrew 4 R/R 5 Cuthbert 6 Dibble 7 Grub
  12. A squad system was mentioned on the forum last close season, seems the way to go next season? As i see it, next season the Premier League should let teams pick the normal 1-7 with 2 riders added from Championship for their squad. Same for the Championship + 2 riders from the National League. It would help if the 2 Leagues rode on a specific day each week? Otherwise rules are RULES.!
  13. I am not sad for holder or batch, you say no at work and you could get the sack on the spot. The rules (16.3.4) state (No Team changes will be allowed after the 28th july WITH THE EFFECTIVE DATE BEING the 31st july,) does not mention when the riders are told about changes ,............there should be a rule. I have said before that the British leagues should start concentrating on hiring more brits . riders from other countries are not bothered , this situation just shows us that....................!!
  14. It is bad,no idea what the cause is,but if you watch the swedish league on a tuesday there are not a lot of crashes. It must be the must win attitude of the British riders.??
  15. Are Poole going to risk wholesale changes,i would not.19 away points gained so far so changes have to keep that form going. I can still see a strange season for Poole ,where they get more points away than at home.(could be one for the record books)?? Get a decent number 1 that is all i would do. .................................................KK has turned in to another Bjarne Peddle-some. I still think Kings Lynn will sack Holder by the Transfer window and move to Poole in time. (Deja Vu)!!
  16. It's up to the clubs if they want to enter or not. As Islander said that is correct. You have to realize that the Brummies did not enter the Trophy this season because they had a lack of race days ,as Cradley are track sharing this season. That knocks 2 teams on the head. And another team started their season on the 30th april (Buxton),Why so late? I agree the fixtures should of had a run by date , WHO does the fixtures ?
  17. Bet Holder signs for Poole after 28 days, bet you.!!!!
  18. Just watched Klindt win his first race in the European Championship ,very fast does not look injured, nothing wrong with the bloke,he was having a laugh at British Speedway,Should not be let back in Britain. I am not a Poole supporter but I think the Premiership should make the rule next season that there be at least 3 Brits in every team to weed out the unworthy.
  19. I hope the match is on,love to see us beat Guestbourne, weather looks bleak.
  20. My Turn 1 T Perry 8.56 2 J Smith 6.32 3 JPB 6.97 4 S Campos 6.35 5 T Govier 3.30 6 J Lawlor 3.59 7 L Cupitt 3.00 38.09
  21. STOCK CAR RETURNS TO ODSAL | Rugby League ... - Bradford Bulls Its before the match, but if it works ??????
  22. A very sad day for speedway. I want to know if there is a speedway riders union and are the Coventry riders named covered for loss of work??. If there is no union there should be one.
  23. My Turn Depending on injuries,i see this finish. / Then playoffs. 1 Cradley 2 B V / Cov 3 Kent 4 Birmingham 5 Eastbourne 6 Kings Lynn 7 Buxton 8 Mildenhall 9 Lakeside 10 I O W 11 Stoke 12 Plymouth Playoffs Cradley v Birmingham B V / Cov v Kent Birmingham v B V / Cov FINAL As i said i think it will all go down to injuries and available guests.
