The team is up for sale. Maybe need a new promoter before we can try and convince Leon to race for the Bandits. -
pairs 2019
sparks123 replied to Moranboys's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Not the best. Same happened to Kev for the riders championship this season and last season Berwick's last match was 16/9 and the pairs at Sheffield was about the 8th October (not the best preparation for Kev and David). -
Where was the info about Paul Starke having the most bonus points? Thanks On the speedway gb averages for 2018 both Theo and Kevin Doolan have more bonus points than Starkey (33 and 29 compared to 28) Using the rolling averages page Theo has 27 to Starkey's 25. The info would be appreciated so I can alter my list.
-
What I meant was that I discounted riders who were still on assessed averages at the end of the season (like John Lindman, Kasper Anderson etc).
-
Rider - Ricky Wells (top average from full season) Impressive Team - Peterborough (top of the table) Team Rider - Theo Pijper (Most bonus points) One to watch - Dan Bewley (hopefully fully recovered) Bulldog - Craig Cook (Best Brit in the league) Meeting of the year - Pairs (Somerset) All teams involved and not as much stoor as at Redcar Surprise - Workington - (league winners not really fancied at the start) Underperformers - Sheffield (expected to do well and end up at the bottom) Unluckiest Rider - Steve Worrall (Injured in 1st meeting) Newcomer - James Shanes (Best average for someone in their first season in the league which isn't assessed)

Wild Cards 2019

Didn't Woffy win his first world title when Emil got injured in the GP. Think Emil was leading the standings going into the GP. There isn't an asterix against his name for that championship either. Not set gates so not a great reflection. Some riders always took the worst gates. You also need luck in GP draws as well. Riders have went through full seasons without having a number with 2 gate 4's etc. -
Don't know how you can split Luke and Sam. To close to call for me.

End of season party at Ord House tonight. Seems to be close for Bandit of the year with the deadline for voting being moved back to yesterday.

When the opposition see our number 1 they will think its an easy match. You can jump out from one of the inside gates and surprise them. Heard the Glasgow offer has been removed after Edinburgh's meeting last night. Mr Blobby is going now? That bung you got has worked wonders. -

Emilali Sorry you just missed out. If injuries kick in then you are a possibility. Nobody is messing with that team. -
Workington v Edinburgh 29/09 7:00pm koc 2nd leg
sparks123 replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Have to agree that riders should be ready to race when the 2 min light goes out. If not then they are rightly excluded but you need consistent refs who apply the rules all the time. Can think of 3 times at Berwick in the league match when riders were not remotely ready to race when the 2 min light went out. -
He was the deserving winner with a good pass in the final. Downside to the meeting was that there seemed to be a lot of engine problems last night (hopefully not to costly for the riders). If David is back with Berwick next season maybe we could try signing Kyle as I think his 2 best meetings were Sheffield and this one (maybe he brings out the best in him).

Usually buy DVD's from re-run most years. Was checking an e-mail from them when I asked.
-
Will the track shop have any DVDs from the wins at Edinburgh and Ipswich?

I am for 4 meetings. Jonas B also rode in the cup match as a guest. You therefore got 18 points (haven't watched match yet so going by your points totals) for Cook, Bewley and Riss. I think that's a fairer assessment than saying you got 9 points for Bewley and Cook. On another point about the tie being over. Ask Robert Lambert how his Swedish team got on last week after winning away the week before (Rospigarna 51-39). He won't be very impressed due to getting beat 52-38 at home.

Thought I saw last night that Craig was hoping to ride on Monday so hopefully not as bad as feared"

Workington v Newcastle 21/09/18 7:30 koc2nd leg
sparks123 replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Could the fixtures be better arranged to take into account Polish div 2 fixtures? This could help with these cases as according to Rob in the Speedway Star there are two teams with Sunday race nights. On another point surely a British rider should be racing in Britain when there is a fixture clash in Poland? Was the Friday race nights mentioned as Lakeside seemed to hint in the Speedway Star that there was going to be a problem and that they were talking to Rye House about Saturday's (backing what Rob said about the teams being given a months notice and no matches had been rearranged). Was it mentioned at the fans forum why teams get 29 day facilities instead of 28 day facilities? Did they mention having the riders championship when there are no Polish playoffs? Back on topic Newcastle did well lasting till about the last week in September in the KOC. How many rounds did the two teams get through before facing each other? (funny that promotions say they cannot race when riders are going to be missing and then when riders are missing the team is slaughtered). -
Have to agree. Edinburgh have been through since June and still don't know who they are racing. See Rospigarna led their semifinal 51-39 going into their home leg (with Doyle, Fricke, Lambert etc) and still lost on aggregate
