  1. I thought the same as Heedthebaw? I thought the covers saved the first meeting. Was the meeting not abandoned before the semi and final? Think there was a heavy shower during heat 17 or so, there was a tractor break and the riders decided to go on. Then after heat 20 there was another heavy shower and the meeting was called? Was possibly the season before I am thinking about.
  2. If the rain decides to stop the track could possibly be ok? The carpark was slightly soft on Thursday night so I would think after 2 more days of rain I wouldn't think it would be the best for parking.
  3. Will they now have to re-run the Peterborough meeting so all matches in the CS are under the same rules? A meeting with different rules could decide a qualifier from that group.
  4. Is it not like having a 45 point team average. I think bonus points were included in a rider's average years ago and now they aren't which would probably increase the team average by 2 or 3 points? The Newcastle team (as well as others) could easily change so I wouldn't rule the team out (think possibly Glasgow were the only team to start and finish with the same team). I also said at the start of last year that the riders champion possibly wasn't in the league (the first 2 were not) yet.
  5. Why not just use the 2 minute flashing light at the starting gate. It will cancel after 2 minutes and if the rider ignores the start marshal they are excluded. All teams will have this function already in place so won't cost the clubs anything. A point Tai made regarding Zagar at his talk in was interesting. There is no minimum rider/bike limit so someone like Zagar will probably be 10-15 kg heavier than someone like Rohan. Therefore there is no rule to help Zagar so why do people want the rule changed to help shorter riders?
  6. I have always been in favour of any British rider riding in both leagues in Britain if they want (more beneficial to team GB if Cookie is doubling up compared to Sam Masters for example). I think that it's wrong that they are allowed to drop down when the majority of clubs have excluded them from their team plans (affected at least 3 team plans). The riders should have been made available from the beginning of May when it was then a level playing field where any club could have signed the riders not just the clubs who haven't completed their teams.
  7. It must have been Lee that I was thinking off. I remember reading about it in the speedway star so it was maybe Ricky and Lee when they went to Sheffield.
  8. Could be wrong but did they not all come through when foot and mouth disease was going on. Think it stopped them from being in the fields on their bikes so they tried speedway instead? Think Berwick were on about getting some of the motocross riders to have a go on their new training track also.
  9. Not been since Lee's meeting. I wonder if the fixture planners will give Berwick a tour this year since we didn't have 2 away meetings running this season to make a tour.
  10. Why did lakeside not just apply the same rule to signing Eddie as well (or was his previous average a lot higher than his converted average. They cannot expect to get 2 riders on 2016 averages because they are lower than their 2017 converted averages and try to get Eddie on his 2017 converted average because it's lower than his 2016 Championship average.
  11. Only announcing six riders?See the other rider in another post.
  12. Good idea. Or make it that you miss your teams next home meeting (if you are doubling up that alternates between the leagues). This obviously will be ignored if the rider takes ill just before a meeting with a doctor seeing that it's genuine. They could also make it that the rider is banned from guesting for the week after.
  13. I think the BSPA should have the power to ban riders from racing in certain leagues if they believe the rider is talking the p*** out the league. If Bewley, Lambert, Cook and Holder (for example) were banned from racing in the championship for a certain number of years it would stop other riders from thinking about doing the same. Craig then provides evidence that his illness is genuine and the ban is removed. Dan provides evidence he is told when and where to race and then his ban is removed (same with the others mentioned). It's funny how most of the missed meetings were in the championship.
  14. Did Ipswich not get rid of Tony after the 1998 season when they won everything.Think they kept Gollob and Louis instead.
  15. Well done Leon.Just seen that Greg Hancock is racing in the 2nd division in Poland and Nick is in the squad (wonder if that means there is a chance he will be back at Berwick next season)?
  16. Should get a loan of the Glasgow fan who scored 10 points this year (great effort).
  17. I take it he will be dropped from at least 1 of his current teams then (or is there no more doubling up/down etc).
  18. Thanks for the info. I have been on holiday and the averages I was going by was the pairs program. That had Rory listed above Danny. My mistake.
  19. Whilst I agree with you, at least the top 2 scorers are in the final.Looking at the GP's Emil has had 1st pick in a semi-final 5 times this season (meaning he is one of the top 2 scorers) and not once did he make the final. Everyone knows the set-up before the meeting starts like Matej Zagar winning a GP after scoring 7 points less than Jason Doyle in the qualifiers.
  20. I thought it was the Ipswich management who were wrong. Could they not have had a guest for Sedgmen due to him being in a FIM meeting half way round the world (or does that only apply to British riders?). If that had been the case they could then have had IRR for Danny in the second leg.I don't think there can be an argument for a guest in the first leg at Peterborough.
  21. Seems sensible.Did Redcar have a conference league rider for someone who went back to Australia or was it for someone else (they had that many missing it was hard to tell)?
  22. He would have had to qualify for the final though. If he had a bad round in the qualifiers then he wouldn't have made the final.
  23. The format went against us a few years ago with Adrian. Think it was the year Tai won. Adrian picked the wrong gate in the final.
