  1. Sorry Tai, but what's the point of looking over your shoulder after the final bend.
  2. Wow that is shocking. It was proving into being one of the best race of the tournament so far (IMO). Fingers crossed all are ok.
  3. Lots of critics, but I like the idea of this event. As others have said, we have seen some of the lesser nations get in and mix it with the big boys. So let's stop being critical and enjoy some fantastic racing tonight... (I am saying in hope).
  4. Fair play to Cookie for remaining professional. https://twitter.com/CraigCook111/status/1005030186394554369
  5. Not sure it was decent, I never liked the individual aspect of the racing for a team event. I do like the idea of seeing which teams are real 'teams' on and off the track. Which riders look for each other. I like the pairs competition, but as Philip remarks, if it continues next season there are things we can do to improve it. Could the under 21 rider be made under 25?
  6. Well you may be right. But if the referee does their job prior to the meeting to make it abundantly clear what will happen if deliberate slowing causes accidents or riding other riders wide happens then there really would be no excuse by riders to do that.
  7. Not really, it just needs a STRONG referee to warn the riders beforehand that any dangerous riding will see them excluded. We then need a referee capable of kicking out any rider, from the World Champion to the home riders if it's deemed they're riding dangerous (not that I think they need to, they're that good).
  8. typo... 'tells', shouldn't be too hard to work out.
  9. Team riding makes points.... the Poles may be getting 5-1 through the card, so we need Tai to try his best to team ride his partner through from third to second where possible. So team riding is more than synchronised speedway, it could and should = points.
  10. Dunno, but I think in football a player has to have played a minimum number of games doesn't he? Still, as Pearson always tesll us, every point is vital, so maybe if the reserve scores just one point in any round he's eligible for a medal.
  11. Why? Had he done well in his first ride I don't think Rosco would have made a change, or wanted to make a change.
  12. What difference does being there make? FFS.... I wasn't, but are you are suggesting the TV lied? Where he could Woffy was looking, but when there was danger he was doing what he could to secure the points. So 'Mr I was there' if you were there, were you in the pits and listening to the team talks? For all we know, the team talk may have been to Woffy, secure points first, team ride second.
  13. Agree on Woffy, he rode superb all night, and even after missing the gate he gave it a good go and was clearing chasing hard. Not sure on Cook, we only had one race. He's looked off the pace sometimes in the SGP, but didn't he win a 2019 SGP qualifier, so he cant be too off the pace.
  14. Of course the danger with this is the home nation could exit on the Friday... but I was never a fan of home nations being seeded to a final anyway.
  15. No it wasn't at all. Germany was not an obvious call, and Australia could have blown it too, so I don't think it was obvious at all. But unless I missed it, did BT Sport explain the two meeting final? From what I can tell it seems to be points over two nights , if so what is the point of that? To make it more interesting, would it not be better to have the Friday night with the 7 teams and then the teams with the two lowest scores don't proceed to Saturday. The scores are then carried over to Saturday with the remaining 5 teams racing each other once, the bottom team is then out to leave 4 teams, they go again to race each other once (I think that's 27 races in total). The top two then race a final. If a team has a bad night on the Friday, 27 races might give them a chance to catch up on the Saturday.
  16. In what, 6 hours of coverage, I don't think BT have mentioned that.
  17. Fair play to the format, apart from a bit of bad luck then France would be in a run off for a final place with the Aussies. I still think this format's got potential (bit of tweaking perhaps).
  18. He messed up at the start. I don't think it helps at all to keep making accusations that Tai favours Team Aussie over Team GB.
  19. That's why I don't like that prat Pearson saying 'on paper' before a race.... speedway isn't ridden on paper.
  20. Why is he not allowed to ride in the UK? Is it do with his suspension last season?
  21. Why no Chris Holder? Does his license issues prevent guest appearances for Australia too?
