  1. What I don't fully understand is why Belle Vue would want it off? They have been riding well of late and Poole have been well below standard, so one assumes that will turn around in the coming weeks, so I would have thought Poole would be there for the taking at the moment.
  2. I found it interesting that Shouty Pearson last night talking about the pinnacle of the speedway year being the British Final, when in previous seasons it was always the Cardiff GP. It's not just BSI, after he won Cardiff, Pearson was sucking up to him for a year, then he moved on to sucking up to Holder and more recently Ward.
  3. Excellent meeting, some great racing (great track shape, with shale) to provide the racing.
  4. I was just looking at the pics from Belle Vue's website of their puddles on Monday night and it got me thinking. https://twitter.com/...9467520/photo/1 When the problem is surface water after heavy rain, and removing the surface water, would allow staff time to preapre a track, would the 'super sopper' machines used in cricket be suitable to take out water from a speedway track surface, like the puddles in the image above? As anyone ever tried those machines on a track? They may not be suitable for the shale surface, but thought I would ask the question.
  5. That would be open to people lying saying they had driven north. Best I think Belle Vue can do for fans is offer free admission to any Poole fan making the trip north next time, to make it managable for BV, should Poole agree is that any Poole fan wanting to take this up have to apply via the Poole Speedway office.
  6. Just catching up on this, I was wortking up North this week and I was in Manchester Monday and Tuesday, and I arrived to farily warm and clear sky's mid afternoon and it certainly did not look like there had been heavy rain in central Manchester anytime in the preceeding hours.
  7. It was far too buddy/buddy and this reinforces what someone said last week about it being 'jobs for the boys' type thing. Whilst I like Rosco, and he always makes for a great interview, commentary is not his thing, not yet at least. Shouty was his usual self... no point me rehashing what I think about him, without Tatum he is even worse, at least Kelvin adds a little balance. I was pleasantly surprised at Tai and his insightful comments, he seemed pretty relaxed when speaking. Again, like Alun not yet for commentary, but I would not rule him out growing into that role one day, but his punditry type comments I thought were pretty good and I would be not against him sitting inbetween Shouty and Kelvin for other meetings in the season. It would mean we would have to put up wuith Shouty sucking up to him more, but makes a change from him sucking up about Ward and Holder and Hancock.
  8. I wonder if Ofcom would take that view, I am fairly sure the constant references to a commercial product, whilst good for the Star, is against their rules, I read this during the week http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/10010268/ITV-faces-Ofcom-grilling-over-Patsy-Kensit-interview-on-Alan-Titchmarsh-chat-show.html I did notice Pearson actually only referred to the 'magazine' on Wednesday, so I assume someone as rightly had a word. Lets count the references to his 'Dudley' next week This is the point that someone else made about 'jobs for the boys', Sky would be better employing someone that is impartial without any commercial interests elsewhere in the sport.
  9. Mmm, not sure I had noticed! They still do their constant head turning to the camera when talking to each other, not at all professional. They don't need to look at the audience when talking to each other.
  10. A few seasons ago you had no speedway in Fester,.. at least you have some speedway now. Stop moaning.
  11. Totally agree. Tonight is a prime example, the way he screamed and constantly sucked up about Ward was embarrassing and also disrespectful to the other riders. At one point he screamed Ward is all over Iversen, when in fact Iversen was a good 4 or 5 bike lengths clear by that point. Awful commentator, if Eurosport can do their own feed without Pearson, then Happy Days.
  12. General feedback is that this was a fantastic and enjoyable GP. Whilst I appreciate that every track is different in shape and size, I hope that lessons have been learned in the preperation side so that the rest of the GPs the riders are given tracks which they can race on and if they want to, really go for it.
  13. Excellent racing, and all those of us who felt Tai's pick fo rthe GPs was unwarrnated have been well and truly proved wrong, long may that contimnue for the rest of the season. Did he change his bike for the final? He had looked fast all night, until that final race when he seemed flat.
  14. Won't be helped when Pearson keeps giving free plugs for the Speedway Star in the TV coverage. Perhaps did not matter when there was no rival for the Star, but if Inside Magazine becomes a real rival then it will matter.
  15. Fully agreed. I am sure all sportsmen and women do now and again indulge in a wine or beer or two, but those with brains tend to do it behind closed doors. I think it also shows that Ward as got no chance of sorting himself out, when he is hanging around peers, including the sports World Champion acting this way. Which is a shame because Ward is so talented, but I can't see him lasting in the sport to the ages of messers Gollob, Crump and Hancock the way he is going on. Actually based off previous events, if this kind of night out becomes the norm, and upsets the wrong person when pissed he is going to get another pasting like he did at the end of last season, and god forbid what might happen next time.
  16. Oh FFS, that is a pathetic and stupid post to make. Head in sand sydrome? The fact the pictures have surfaced mean the fact kids are in bed is irrevelant, because they will see their 'stars' and 'role models' getting wasted.
  17. Read my post again. I am not saying either of them did!
  18. Some of the Polish tracks are big and wide and allow for the throttle wide open, seem to be perfect tracks to me, yet always seem to produce great racing.
  19. Do you not have kids then? Not worried about him being a role model? So if one of them knocked over and injured or killed a relative of yours, you would not care as long as they entertain on track?
  20. eeer, and inbetween races you want them to just stand their twiddling their thumbs? I quitre like it, his knowledge showed a line that I had not seen in the live action. Ok, perhaps he could point at the screen instead of the gadget, but the gadget is fine in my opinion
  21. I assume so yep, I guess it's why Soccer Saturday points the camera to the pitchside reporter, rather than the field because of contractual reasons for showing the action.
  22. Yep to be fair getting the updates from the other tracks is a great bonus, and I think with a little work could be really good feature, at the moment it is pretty much them just stating the scores. Not sure Ryan or Sam are ready for those roles yet. Chris is always very good at giving insight, and I think his technical bit with the TV and his hand held device is pretty good, when looking at lines. The same with Rosco tonight advising one of his riders to keep his body forward on the bike to give more control when it bucks up, this sort of technical input actually adds to the interest. Good example there of why you need a manager, or at least assistant manager that is a former rider to help the riders out.
  23. I see you got another free advertising plug by your old mate on Sky last night.
