Swc Final 2015
TheReturn replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Get a grip people people. It rained, officials tried to get it on and failed. Always happened in speedway, I dare say always will. Hardly a PR disaster. -

Its's what Pearson does, but at least Andy don't scream it. -

Not sure I agree, but if they are then maybe Team GBs performance to push them so close in the race-off is not a bad result after all. -
So is it feasible something like this could ever be made available to British kids? Would the new Belle Vue have all week or even 2/3 days track access? Is there a way the BSPA could apply for lottery funding to develop British youngsters?

Full quote twoffindenAfter my comments on TV last night I just want to put you in the picture with my thoughts on Team GB, so here goes! I have a lot of ideas and I want to work with British Speedway to help develop the younger riders and, ultimately, make the team a success with the target of challenging for the gold medal. I've had a long chat with the BSPA and we will work together on this, I'm hoping to go and meet them and put my ideas across. I want younger riders to look at how I have developed from the start of the 2013 season until now. It's hard work, dedication and passion for your job. I would like to see the GB squad undergo fitness tests going into the winter, October time, and then again in March at the start of the next season. I'd like us to have pre-season testing on tracks abroad, I'd like us to look at our training and nutrition - if I can help with that by relaying what I've done over the last couple of years then that's great. We need to be better organised, better in every department - and I count myself in that because I'm still learning all the time! I would love to be a part of a World Cup winning team with Great Britain and I hope people understand my passion. I hope that clears up what I was saying last night and thanks again for all your support. Tai

Well Harris goes down in my estimation then for that, but, is this not the job of a Team Manager to influence a rider (especially with Rosco being a former rider). If Rosco knew he was not on a good engine, he should have used the Tac Sub in a Harris ride.
-
His choice.
-
Even if he was against other GP riders? Harris had a bad night, but still not sure why it's a disgrace.
-
Not a Woffie I agree but does not justify the Disgraceful comment.
-
Don't talk crap. Bad night, hardly a disgrace.
-
Chip on shoulder alert. Hampel fell and got injured, hardly got rid of.
-
Somehow the BSPA need an emergency meeting to find a way to get this kid in.
-
Pearson does know a speedway race is four laps doesn't he? Why keep calling the scores after the first bend.

Mr Shouty is extra Shouty tonight.

I meant Mr Shouty, but I take your point

I suppose Mr Fence Sitting Suck Up will waffle on about everything being wonderful in the commentary later. Moving forward to next year, maybe the FIM need to introduce a rule that if a nation fields an understrength team (i.e. 3 riders) they are removed from the event the following tournament. My preference for the SWC. Make it bi-annual. Five man teams, with the fifth rider being a reserve that can take up to four rides of the managers choosing, but only one ride per block of four heats. The host nation are only seeded to the race-off (semi-final), this ensures the home nation get to cheer their team on, but they do have to earn their right to the final. The other finalists are the winners of the two quarter finals, then the top two from the semi-final. The Semi-finalists are the runners up from the quarter-finals and then highest scoring third place team from the two quarter finals.
-
Is it financial? Is that why the Russians keep opting to miss the SWC? Shame pride is not enough to make them want to race.

We need a lot of luck to qualify I think we will all admit that the Poles are red hot favourites. But Poland had a lot of bad luck the other night, so who knows what will happen. However, for me if Team GB finish a comfortable second place I think I would consider that a step forward. I for one will just be looking forward to enjoying what promises to be a couple of great nights racing. Long term though, someone please pressure the powers to be to scrap the hosts being ceded to the final. I would have loved to have seen Denmark racing long before the final on Saturday. The fans are technically being robbed of seeing the likes of Nicki P and the Danes.
-
Ok, I will shut up then because you say so. Let's not debate a ruling, which is frankly ridiculous.
-
Then they should have banned him immediately his GP breath test failure came to light, not allowed him to continue riding.
-
It's history, time to move on... I am not a fan of Ward or Poole, but he was not banned when riding for Poole and there was no suggestion he was riding under the influence so why would his points be removed?
-
Not for Harris, he is not a gater so a bald track is not his thing.
-
I appreciate some people on here are stupid, but writing off King is pretty disrespectful. How many thought Lambert would beat the World Champion? Not me! Unless there is someone considered a track specialist, and guaranteed to score lots more (which to my knowledge there isn't), lets give the same four the chance to prove people right/wrong. Chances are Poland are going to be streets ahead of everyone else, but this is speedway, anything could happen.
-
Great racing, great effort from Team GB all racing hard, so no complaints at all. In theory that four could be our team for several seasons, which bodes well. I don't buy into Rosco choosing wrong, just bad first turns cost us in those last few heats. Only spoiled by that demented fool commentating and calling the scores after each first turn.
