  1. But last night the racing talked for itself, we didn't need it screamed at us, we could all see it. The same with the stupid comments he makes about 'the fans are loving this, they're going wild' which then pans to one or two smiling or clapping fans. Always reminds me of that scene from Escape to Victory where the German football commentators have to mask the crown displeasure at German's scoring by putting on crowd cheering tapes.
  2. That's what annoys me with one or two of the Aussie riders. They seem to forget that for the majority their career was started and made in the UK, yet are quite happy to take pop at British speedway and fans.
  3. Superb racing.... once again spoiled by the shouty one who today was virtually in screaming mode.
  4. Just what I was thinking! But it should be a thing of the past!
  5. I fear this is how promotors view the forum, some sensible but most considered 'non-sensible'. Ok so not everyone will agree all of the time, but it does not mean that promotors should not listen and take on board both sides of the discussion. To simply ignore the discussion simply because people disagree is very short sighted. If your dismissive view is indicative of how promoters think then I am glad I am now an outsider. Ok not all the things of yesteryear speedway will fit in a modern sport, but that's not to say peoples views can not still be considered. Pushing the tapes is one great example, ok that was allowed in the past, but right now there is an ongoing tapes issue that is not resolved with modern speedway, so why not look back at yesteryear and see if that worked any better. If riders are allowed to touch the tapes, then we will have less false starts, less jumping, but does it lead to less false starts/call backs? Worth asking the question and answering... not just dismissing. Reading your post you are dismissive of all speedway fans who are no longer regular attendees. I really hope promotors don't take that view, because these are people with an interest in speedway who could be enticed back with a good product. Surely attracting new customers/fans with an interest in the sport is easier than attracting new customers who don't know the sport?
  6. I do hope though that in addition to dismissing trolls they do take on board some of the constructive criticism about our sport. easy to dismiss the forum as moaning fans, but most on here are also customers.
  7. Still not a reportable offence. Just roll with it fella.
  8. This is what I found coming from a Facebook account of Darcy Ward. Read it how you will. The original post was this - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1166764700013299&set=gm.1341219792555440&type=3&theater
  9. So all those times they have (rightly) wished injured riders well, in what appear to be off the cuff remarks, have been the producers call and not the presenters? I don't think so.
  10. But he keeps qualifying or getting selected. Sure it would be nice to see Emil (I agree with Shovlar, over-rated) but I will like to see that proven on the track but here's the thing, Emil didn't want to ride the GPs. So we can not knock those that choose to qualify.
  11. That's how I feel. I was a fan of Tai, I respect him for his charity work and love his racing. But that does not mean we should blindly support him. I don't agree with him turning his back on British Speedway and dropping/using us at the drop of a hat. Thick or thin, stick behind us and try and change things from within.
  12. It was a fair question. So let's be clear, Yes Tai is World Champion (for now), but he's just another rider. A rider who turned his back on British speedway which Pearson and team gloss over, and now he's back Sky are falling over themselves to promote him. This felt less about the World Champion riding in the UK and more about a PR exercise to big up Tai... remind me again, whose Tai's PR officer?
  13. Maybe I am wrong to say this (and apologies in advance if it was mentioned but I missed it) but is it not really disappointing that the Sky speedway production team tonight did not send their wishes on screen to Charlie? Not every speedway fan is on Twitter or uses this forum so not all will be aware of Charlie's illness. Too busy fawning over Tai I guess.
  14. Why are Sky showing Tai's rides at Wolves?
  15. I also saw two kids walking around the pits, seems pits are a walkabout for anyone these days.
  16. Also part of a clique with Pietersen, Warne and that vile man Piers Moron.
  17. Without going too much off topic, I don't think the clique was the problem, it was KPs failure to be part of a team that was his problem. I don't think it is any coincidence that he fell out with every team that he was part of. Even in the early days the Notts boys got so fed up with him I think they emptied his stuff off the balcony at Trent Bridge in the end. Then there was textgate, I don't think it was an accident that the fact he was texting South Africa got leaked. KP is the original bertie big bollocks, and when you are hitting test century after century you get away with it, but when you are getting out on stupid big shots for 20 or 30 then the team will soon turn on you. As for Tai, I think he is a fantastic and amazing rider, but I lost so much respect for him with that deliberate swearing during the SWC. Then this issue he is again acting unprofessional, and mouthing off without giving any facts of 'why' he is mouthing off. The trouble is that his fanboys lap that stuff up and assume the BSPA are wrong.
  18. On talent he perhaps is, but a but like KP in cricket, if he's going to take that attitude he can idiot right off.
  19. Didn't know that, just found the article - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-36099522 I do have 9 points on my license, but no criminal record no
  20. Absolutely. And when someone line Ched Evans is found guilty but fickle football fans adoring him and celebrating him and attacking women through social media like our Charlie for standing up for women's rights.
  21. You've hit the nail on the head there. She is actually the kind of role model that if I ever have kids, I hope the girls would follow the likes of her example, rather than some of these pathetic reality TV stars. I never minded her interviews, but I know she was not everybody's cup of tea, but nobody can deny what a lovely lady she is and the examples she set (i.e. giving riding a try). I still think she is better than Chris Louis as n interviewer (Chris was far better when commentating with Kelvin I thought).
  22. To be fair all we have so far is Woffinden mouthing off on Twitter. What we don't know is if the BSPA have made effort to involve him discussions and hear his ideas and the outcome of those, or if Woffy was making unrealistic demands.
  23. So much for not wanting to make public comment.
  24. He seems to think he is by the way he posts! I highly doubt that!
