Woffinden's Language.
TheReturn replied to superclamp's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Dear oh dear... you really can't see the difference? Are you telling me that Woffy's examples were not pre-meditated, rather than off the cuff slips? Don't get me wrong, I like Woffy, but I think this season he's let himself down badly and whilst sycophants defend him, there is a risk he will continue with this course of unprofessional behaviour. Out of interest, what would Woffinden have to do in order for you to condemn him? What about one of the Ward off track antics that ended up with him in court, would you still be defending him then? -
Nicki Pedersen Injured.
TheReturn replied to foamfence's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
They used to say the same about Gollob, I was at Hackney the night he was punched because one Aussie felt he had ridden too hard. Fair enough, but to be honest I was being polite. I would prefer to use other words to describe Mr Ward, and they would get me banned -
Why? Didn't set the world alight, and doesn't have Ford choosing which aussies to ride for him. I can't comment if he is a great manager, but whenever I see him interviewed on TV about a race incident, he talks utter tripe.

Woffinden's Language.
TheReturn replied to superclamp's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Hardly, two different things. Lung's was in the heat of the moment, natural and lets not forget his first language is not English. Woffy's was deliberate and unnecessary. You're bit of a Woffy sycophant aren't you Chris? -
Nicki Pedersen Injured.
TheReturn replied to foamfence's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Of course, but can you imagine the outcry if Nicki had refused to help raise funds for Darcy by not agreeing to sell his race suit? Darcy was a prat before his accident and it seems is still a prat. -

Shame that Nicki has been injured. On a slightly different topic, did anyone see what that pathetic prat Darcy Ward said about Nicki on Saturday night after NP had won the SEC. I am pleased to see that Kenneth Hansen and Brian Andersen then responded. Of course Ward being the petulant prat that he is, didn't stop there. This in response to Kenneth. and this on his timeline later. -
Poole would have perhaps brought HanCock in again, but as we know he doesn't like riding at Belle Vue
-
Wolves did not bring Tai back just for the play-off's.
-
That's fine if all 4 teams can suddenly change their teams to bring in a GP calibre rider. If not and only one team is allowed to do that, I call that cheating the league title.
-
New rule needs to come in. Riders are not eligible for the play-off's unless they have raced at least three months of the domestic season.
-
Wow, just seen the news.. but I am not at all surprised Poole managed to bring in someone of Lindback's calibre for the play-off's. It's always Poole. What a farce. I was ridiculed for creating a thread congratulating Belle Vue for winning the league and this exactly why I despise the play off's. The title can be manipulated... cheated!!!!

As the dough is rising all you hear will be Pearson shouting 'It's all very tight' followed by and if it stays like this the Bakewell Tart will be the winner.

Belle Vue V Poole Elb 12/09/16 Sky Meeting
TheReturn replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Indeed. A fair few of us hold this opinion. Many people on here say they tolerate him, but that's different to liking. Other than a few like Philp Rising who keeps telling us Sky think the shines out his arse, I have not really read of many people admitting they really like his commentary. -
Congratulations Belle Vue - League Champions

Indeed, if Belle Vue are denied now through lady luck and injury it would an injustice. -

Ok I am wrong if you say so... but I still believe the tam that finishes top of the table after months of racing should be league champions. -

So we have given the credibility of our league title winners for a few quid from Sky? Is that what you're saying? Like I said, we have a GP system where to find the most consistent world champion, should be the same for the league title. -
Congratulations Belle Vue - League Champions

I am sure 99% of you will say that, but doesn't mean I am actually wrong. Leicester finished the Premier League top of the table in football last season, didn't need a gimmick of play off to keep that entertaining. -
Belle Vue V Poole Elb 12/09/16 Sky Meeting
TheReturn replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Philip Rising informed us earlier that speedway gets thousands of casual viewers from Sky, which is great. But how stupid does our sport now seem tonight after we heard about Rider X is guesting for team B tomorrow and then Rider Y guesting for team C Friday. It really does sound stupid that riders involved in the play-off's are allowed to go and guest for other teams. -
Call me old school, but for me the team that finishes top of the table at the end of the season are the rightly and worthy League Champions. So congratulations Belle Vue on a fantastic season. The Play-off's are a gimmick for Sky. Clearly every season most of you say that you love the play-off's but to me it means the team that's worked the hardest all season long could lose out because of bad luck in the final matches. Effectively the league title is decided across four matches, how is that championship worthy? Surely the point of a league season is to find the most consistent team? After all, that's why we now have the GP's, to find the best rider over the entire season.

He will tweak it and be injured again the following day... not that I am cynical about Poole's ability to replace riders for the play offs. -

Explain it once in a meeting is fine, not constantly . I wonder if the casual viewer will be enticed to come back for future broadcasts with all the shouting and screaming? -

It wasn't really Kelvin, it was Pearson screaming like an idiot, and in the following race. -

The guy is an idiot, shouting and screaming at top of his voice for a move that didn't even come off.
