  1. Good GP. But all appears a bit of a clique. I liked the commentary bar 1 comment from Crump (Re NP mechanics should not get involved etc, he would not have made such comments re Holders brother having a dig at NP on the track) Tai looked v quick Hancock looked class (I think if NP had done the same as Hancock in the final he would have been excluded) Plenty going on a good GP
  2. The faster you go the more chance of an injury or a death occuring! (But you must remember the guys are RACING so want to go as fast as the rules allow) A few changes in the rules maybe? Suggestions. 1, Minimum weight of flywheel (stop ultra light flywheels) 2, Maximum tread depth of rear tyre or harder rear tyres (Shore number) (less grip but more consistent and rideable)(also longer lasting) 3, Carb restrictor (tuners will still develop motors to go as fast over time tho!) You could even have a bigger restricter the higher the league ie 25mm National League, 27mm Premier, 28mm Elite (or whatever the motors need to run well! Beena while since I worked on a bike!!! lol (A double up rider just changes carb and a few settings)
  3. if he had gone down quicker he would have got back in race!!!!!
  4. Heat 15 Did it not look like they let them pass a little easy? Or is it my natural cynicism?
  5. Just a Question. Who decided (came up with the name NATIONAL STADIUM?) For Manchester track. And is it realy a National Stadium or in name only? M
  6. It appears to me now that: There is a thuggish pack mentality from Gregs little gang! (sycophantic) Sorry had to use this word and put definition in at bottom of page! lol (Well it made me smile anyway) Which can do no good to anybody involved! A group of people (Speedway riders!) egging each other on, as if they are a gang of teenage schoolboys. All being whipped up into a frenzy by their older leader! Who should know better! If there is a racing "Accident" now and Nicki gets taken out what will it look like? ( A revenge attack) every incident now will look dubious! sycophantic ˌsɪkəˈfantɪk/ adjective adjective: sycophantic behaving or done in an obsequious way in order to gain advantage. "a sycophantic interview" synonyms: obsequious, servile, subservient, deferential, grovelling, toadying, fawning, flattering, ingratiating, cringing, unctuous, oily, slimy, creeping, crawling, truckling, slavish, bowing and scraping, Uriah Heepish, gushing; informalbootlicking, smarmy; vulgar slangarse-licking, arse-kissing, brown-nosing; vulgar slangsuckholing "his clique of sycophantic friends"
  7. White Knight, probably not no! but he is not held up as a god like example of niceness either! lol
  8. What a shambles of a statement "SELF DEFENSE"! "no apology to Pederson"! From what was a massive over reaction from Hancock. Be realistic everybody. Correct to exclude Pederson, but realy just a normal move that happens every week in Speedway (sometimes they fall, sometimes they stay on, sometimes the rider against the wall rolls the throttle off and cuts inside) Be realistic, if you want people to race this will happen! I agree Greg does get an easier ride from his "mates" bless him (His mind games on them have done that) Good luck to him I agree Nicki does get an easier ride from his "enemies" bless them! a little fear maybe (His mind games on them have done that) Good luck to him. Fights etc in any sport a fine and a ban (maybe just a week or two) 2nd offence bigger fine and longer ban! People get away with some naughty stuff in Speedway (Holders brother / team starting on Pederson on the track etc, in my opinion they started that and Holder was responsible as its his crew!) All entertaining tho and mainly handbags Have respect for both riders in different ways and it makes life interesting! Greg has all his mates messaging & tweeting silly things which looks soooooooooo bad! almost comical and doing him no favours at all!
  9. I agree with weatherwatcher & ch958 But it does show the current precarious position UK speedway is in. Not enough fans Not enough money Elite L riders wages to high (against business income) 8 clubs in the EL! Prior to 1978 (I think there were 19 teams in the then BL) 13 in PL 10 in NL
  10. Just a thought. When teams WANT to get promoted to the Elite League (or next league up) you know you have a thriving sport. Bottom team relegated Top team promoted etc etc. If there is no "want" for promotion or "fight" to stay away from relegation the sport will just stagnate and dwindle even more. I know the choices are made for financial reasons, but it shows a sad state of affairs overall for Speedway in the UK
  11. Harris is averaging 7/8 so must pass somebody if he gates last
  12. Strange arguements realy! Hancock is dull because he can gate quicker than everybody else (most of the time) Thats not his fault! Chris Harris is never dull and commits 110% as Tatum keeps saying (But he rarely makes the gate) Who would you rather watch? Who would you rather be if you were a racer? Who would you rather have in your team?
  13. Of course he should! No doubt at all! Silly silly question!
  14. If only they prepared the tracks to his liking ! He would win a few GP's every year and prob be in top 3 at the year end! But no ! They pander to the smooth slick track gaters! Different view point on it?????????????? ha ha
  15. It would have been a great GP i think (If they had planned it properly)!!!!!!!! The planning always lacks something Loose surface racing should always have a little track variation! thats the nature of it But the tapes farce NO EXCUSE
  16. I agree its the right move 50,000 fans cant be wrong can they ? (will they go back again if it was run again next week?) Go big to build the sport . Then Every cock up costs long term in fans leaving the sport. In this day an age it cost dear to make basic mistakes. I wish the sport well and a big future. I HOPE THEY GET IT RIGHT AND QUICK!!!
  17. "Yes, it was bold. but the right move" ? Its only the right move if you plan things properly! no back up tapes? surely that is basics!!!!!!!! There are businesses that move premises over a weekend at open again on Monday, BECAUSE THEY PLAN EVERY DETAIL! There are event companies that travel and set up exhibitions and stands at events GP's because they are experts in planning and leave as little as possible to chance!
  18. Statistics on x2 GP's so far 50% of the tracks to rough 50% of the tracks to slick On average the tracks are perfect so far 50% of the tracks can not be bothered to get starting tapes to work Chris Harris can ride bad rutted tracks with a bit of random grip 100% Chris Harris not so good on gaters tracks 100% First time I have seen Hancock slide off a bike in a long time 100% 100% Shambles so far Seriously what a mess for a professional set up /sport! If this was an amateur sport committee members would be resigning over this debarkle in embarressment! Genuinely feel sad for the sport and the way its run (GP and Elite) M
  19. Ha Ha silly question. He should ride for GB / England whatever we are called nowadays
  20. x2 Eastern European ones ? on minimum wage? or less?
  21. RIP Great voice and realy one of the voices of Cricket
  22. Dont Speedway riders dont have any friends or family then?
  23. Trying to be controversial speedibee? People who work hard, people who run businesses, people that love to race, people who pay there own way race cars for fun. Or you could pay for the professional Speedway racers that produce as often quoted (Boring Speedway Meeting) I agree we all have different likes and dislikes, but if a track had to rely on 1 to keep it open what would they pick? (Brafield tarmaced, Birmingham Wheels tarmaced?) Some cross pollination / support would probably benefit us all (keep the tracks open/ work together etc)
