  1. Gotta agree Rob & his team do an excellent job of getting the track back from the brink, credit where credits due there. Rob & his team were disappointed last night, real shame as it isn't easy trying to put a track together for good close racing.
  2. Agreed, but it's a sport wide issue, therefore you would think the BSPA & SCB would be actively lòóking for a valid solution too, that way all clubs, riders & fans are on a win, win situation. They maybe are on the case but that I very much doubt. Shame as speedway could be right up there, especially if GB win the world cup?
  3. Got the call enroute from one of the team, arrived @the track nearly all the Scunny riders had fled, the Berwick riders were still there. I personally think we could've raced as we have raced in worse conditions, but hey that's speedway. Just wish there was a sensible solution & a cost effective way to cover the track.
  4. Heat 1? I'm pretty sure that was Klindt that moved? As for Thomas, watch his reactions they are lighting fast, the reaction time is 0.5 of a second as measured by sports analysist @Loughborough university, but of course they could be wrong too, of which I doubt. And by now I'm pretty sure this sport would benefit from transponders, but as it's a loss loser I'm sure SCB won't let the sport move forward.
  5. Dreadful referee last night, Thomas didn't move yet gets pulled back.
  6. Funny how Birks got heat 15 on 8 points when Thomas had more? Am I missing something?
  7. Errr, Thomas has a "suspected" broken bone in his wrist, un-confirmed at this stage. Would just like to thank the big gob who has gone and opened their mouths!
  8. Was good to see Thomas getting going, his motor issues seem to be on the right track. Hoping to produce the same @Scunny. Good work from the team, nice touch by Josh to allow Thomas to take the race even though the ref thought otherwise. And what was the start marshal doing, I'm all for a little home advantage but seriously, trying to get the Scunny riders into trouble with the ref is a little extreme. However, I do think that some riders to do a little more faffing around than others. Steady was on fire, he's hitting form just at the right time for team GB selection, good on him I say, nice guy too.
  9. He will come good he's struggling with engines so I hear. Changed tuners, will get it dialled in, him & his mechanic are working hard, they never stopped Tuesday at Pboro or at Plymouth. Have the faith he'll come good
  10. Very good meeting last night, exciting racing by Scunny to get back into it. Have to say Jørgensens ride around Dryml & Ulrich was pretty hair raising, then Douglas did it on the last bend too. Scunny impressed me last night, the last meeting I saw them they were poor. I was also impressed by the activity in the pits by Scunny me mechanics, they seemed to be rallying around helping each other out. Good team spirit.
  11. Hi, how much for the Blixt carby, and how old is it approximately? Regards Steve
  12. There will always be a difference of opinion, it's a great sport which got turned into a farce, this is not the only meeting with bad refereeing decisions and I'm damn sure it will continue, as most have no conception of how a speedway bike works. As for the damage to Thomas' equipment, I saw it in the pits, I saw the mechanic have to take the chain from around the sprocket, you do not have to be Einstein to notice him bending down on track to get the bike moving, then walking the bike back still bending down holding the chain off the sprocket. And no he didn't move at the start, it was a clean start, as were the others which were pulled back. As for Robson only being given two lots of two minutes, read the rules my friend, as you cannot have a further two minutes once under starters orders. Simples, the ref robbed the fans of a better spectacle of speedway and Scunthorpe the win.
  13. The ref excluded Thomas Jørgensen not once but twice, when both should'be been all four back. He stopped four race when Scunthorpe riders made excellent starts, not jumped just excellent starts. Gave Stuart Robson four minutes to get his second bike going. The list is horrendous. If that's value for money, then if I were you I would ask for a refund. However, they do say it's grim oop north, and they are not wrong!
  14. White Knight are you for real? Guess you have no idea how a speedway bike works, typical a.n.other keyboard warrior- blurp!
  15. Funny as the mechanic had to remove the rear chain from the behind the rear sprocket before moving the bike not just pull the clutch in, if anyone needs help it's you. I watched the mechanic then remove the rear wheel and badly damaged sprocket all caused by the contact, and fit another sprocket. You pay your money to watch a good meeting ran by an un biased ref, what you actually watched was a farce. I would get your facts right pal, next time Newcastle Cheaters are in town, I will be first in the queue to get my ticket, I cannot wait, it shall be good.
  16. What a surprise two biased opinions, I didn't see either of you sorting Thomas' bike out on track so it could be taken off the track, and I'm guessing your super sub warned all four as to not raise any suspicion to the nights events. Happy, me far from it, I do not have an issue with hard and far racing/proceedings, I have an issue with blatent cheating and bleating riders.
  17. Take it you know exactly what happened then? What's this all about "The bike parking wasn't the only bit of dangerous riding by Jorgenson, don't know what he'd had for tea, raw meat?" Another keyboard warrior knowing nothing? Get in the real world, the boys on track are racing for pride & money. And before you get all high and mighty, Thomas is a fair rider, but Newcastle riders ride just as hard, but when you're racing 7 riders and super sub "the ref" you're stuffed as you're never going to beat a team of 8! Nice little touch by Robson getting extra time to warm his spare bike up by causing a classic tape jump but of course the updater blamed Josh Auty. Rose coloured spectacles springs to mind!
  18. Stew Dickson (@glesgagaffer) tweeted at 0:03 AM on Tue, Dec 31, 2013: Ma advisers have offered Henning a deal for 2014, baw is in his court but a expect him tae sign it, looking a assessed rider fur last spot
  19. Yep happy with that, got to be David Howe instead of Linus Eklof though. Local lad and his commitment to racing whilst injured, has to be commended, even though a little silly. But hey it's the end of November, we have a long way to go until the season starts, a lot of riders sitting around waiting for the phone call. Going to be a long winter for both riders and fans alike.
  20. Just a thought, and forgive me if this has been mentioned elsewhere in this thread. What about pay per view speedway? Would the lack of speedway being broadcast openly (media subscription excluded) increase the crowds?
  21. As much as I like Kenni and feel he would be a good choice for Coventry, he isn't a number 1, and also I'm sure he wanted away from Coventry.
  22. I am constantly amazed by what I read on here, some posts do make me chuckle. The main problem at Coventry is the club has experienced success throughout the years, they have had former promoters who lived and breathed Coventry Bees which is evident when you lòók at past success, the current promoter is trying all he can, but he doesn't live and breath Coventry Bees yet, but he has come a long way and I believe he wants success.
  23. They management team and the owners are good people, sincere and fans of Glasgow Tigers. They are not alone on the losing money stakes, in this week's SS, Bob Dugard says he has lost around £70K, Redcar has lost money and don't have an air fence, Coventry have lost money and may lose the stadium, Birmingham have lost money and where/are not certain of their future, so for Glasgow to have lost money is unsurprising really, as the aforementioned clubs are stalwarts of the speedway game and they cant make it pay. The reality is unless you have surplus cash to get rid of speedway will not make you money.
