  1. And you called me a baffoon Never read such rubbish, but as Neil says its your opinion and you are erntitled to it without any hurling abuse at you Its called debate, have a look in the dictionary The qualifying process is there for a reason and for me the only thing that keeps the GP's from being a complete circus. You have to keeop a qualifying process open and if someone enters and gets through a whole series of rounds then they deserve to be in the GP. The day the GP is just a series of picks with no qualifying will be a sad day And for what its worth I do believe that riders should try to qualify and laregly I would say that if they do not even attempt to qualify then they should NOT be eliglble for a wildcard. Surely if you want to be in the GP's you should try to qualify ? Just my view
  2. So did he turn it down or not ? Just interested to know and why, if it wasn't' money Accept that totally, my point was that it was no-one else's fault but his that he could not ride in Oz. he was acquitted yes, but allow himself to be in a position that a case was brought. Surely no-one is to blame for that, he was clearly a little naive On the other point, if he was offered it and didn't turn it down, why was he not in the series ? Surely he did turn it down, mr Rising said he turned it down not only for money so I was not told anything of the sort
  3. Somebody who doesn't want to ride is definitely no loss. If riding for your country means so little then good riddance
  4. Fair enough on the Aussie qualifiers but possibly only has himself to blame for that one So why he turn it down then ? Surely it was because he would have missed on Poland and was that not down to money ??? Or does he just love travelling round Poland
  5. I wouldn't offer Ward a chance to be honest, on talent yes but after tuning it down for money last year they should tell him to qualify if he wants in Just my view
  6. Looking like a 4 man run off for the last place !! 4 on 10 Dryml, Batchelor, Zagar and Leon Madsen, be interesting is NKI only gets a point in this one
  7. At the end of the day he has gone through the qualifiers from the very start whereas other prima donnas skip the qualifiers thinking they have a devine right to be iven a wildcard If its Ales, in fact its true for any of the guys who qualify from tonight then they will have MORE right to be in the GP series than ANY wildcard. God only why he wants to do it given the cost but there are other riders who are so arrogant that they just sit at home waiting to be asked, in some cases even when asked they cant be arsed to do it until it suits them better Go on Ales, stick it up 'em mate and spoil their plans
  8. No Bryn not over the PA. you said I was looking more like your chauffeur when we were chatting before the meeting. As for the shorts, well it was sunny all day
  9. Waco, I have known Bryn for years and that was in jest (hence the smiley!) Mind you he took the mickey out of me last night for wearing shorts and called me fat ...............................he deserved some bleedin stick for that
  10. Not long back from this one and have to say what a fine effort it was by all concerned to get the meeting on. The weather on the Island was fine all day and at 6.45pm the heavens opened and it rained very hard for 25 minutes. Given the track was alredy wet the efforts of the track staff to get it on anbd then the riders to give it a real go was very impressive OK so the racing in these circumstances was never going to be the best but all 12 riders gave it their best and both clubs should be proud of their efforts My 2nd visit to the Island in a month and have to say I thoroughly enjoy it................................even if I have to listen to old Bryn
  11. Ok I guess I can't argue with the two examples there. I get annoyed that riders who move around clubs get testimonials. I guess I would support a testimonial for a rider who rides with the same team for 10 years, not is owned by the same promotion for 10 years or has just ridden here for 10 years (when it suits him in the e of Kasprzak Some of the mercenaries who get testimonials make me angry Don't forget when using your Polish example that in the UK you seem to qualify for a testimonial for the hardship which is bleeding money out of British Speedway for 10 years, not for riding for the same club
  12. Bleedin farce if you ask me. 10 years of messing people about if you ask me No overseas rider should get a Testimonial over here FULL STOP in my opinion The last British rider to get a testimonial for services to Polish/Swedish/Danish/Australia/US Speedway was ???????? No-one I suspect
  13. I was assured today that the last batch of tickets were printed over the weekend and were being despatched today for delivery by 1pm on Tuesday
  14. You are so right in hoping they get some backing but the reality is that they won't. The sponsorship and the money will go to Danes, Swedes, Poles etc etc etc who will be over here tiding in 2 leagues and gaining masses of experience and money from doing it While British Speedway supports its riders in this way. OK its one example of a rider who will not be World Champion, but Kyle Hughes as a National League rider who started the season in the Premier League has been told he can only ride in the NL and cannot take guest bookings in the Premier League. Can anyone explain why the clowns who run the sport would come up with a rule like that while loads of young and old foreigners are riding in both the PL and EL Its time these clowns were held to account for the state of the talent in British Speedway. Great achievement by Scott Nicholls to win 7 titles but it really shows the lack of talent coming through when riders who in fairness were probably at a higher weld level than Scott maybe won it once or twice. As much as I dislike his commentary Tatum was at a different level in world speedway to Scott and her only won it twice and it was always held on his home track. Thats shows the quality that was around at that time. The future looks pretty grim really because you just know that those riders with what looks like a good future will be given no help and suport by British Speedway and will be left behind by overseas riders Very sad IMO
  15. Semi Final produces synchronised shouting from the commentators Shouts of whhhhooooooarrrr are just so informative And just for a change they interview Nicholls and Harris again and again and agin and again SKY are frustrating, the camera work is awesome but the commentators are getting worse and they focus entirely on the same riders over and over again for interviews
  16. Which means he could make decent starts as a speedway rider, not sure what inning 2 titles has to do with his ability as a commentator He's appalling and has views that he would never have had as a rider. Just my view Shame Steve Johnstone went home which left us with him
  17. SO Tatum after comically seeing Nicholls pass as a clean pass now says that Danny King fell being he ran into the back of Stuart Robson Please somebody get that idiot off the TV. The Nicholls, Harris , Woffinden love in is really painful to listen to
  18. What on earth is Nicholls playing at, very very wreckless but not unusual to see him taking people out in Brtish Finals up the inside Yes its a final but a bit of sense would prevail
  19. Just back in Oxford after my trip to the Island. Dudley miles too good out the gate and that was pretty much where every race was decided bar two I think One question though, what is Adam Roynon gaining from riding in the National League. I am all for developing youngsters (and boy he deserves some luck in the sport) but not sure he is learning anything from winning races by the length of the straght. Been out of touch with the youngsters around at the moment, Tom Perry looks a great prospect, not sure about Ashley Morris, seemed to be more concerned about looking round at those chasing him and got the hump after Kyle Hughes picked him off twice. Dudley are clearly a very good side and don't really need to be using Roynon which is frankly silly 1st trip to Smallbrook, a very nice stadium and well drilled organisation for those going back on the ferry
  20. All reminded me why I haven't been to a speedway meeting in the UK for 5 years, the dumb rules turned it into a farce and the sport has totally lost the plot with stupid rules. You can criticise the Danes but the rules should be done to avoid it happening. To some degree I understand why they done it Come on Steve, the cameraman may have asked him to ?? Never read such tosh !! In fairness spitting is a digusting thing anyway but to do it when you know a camera is pointing at you whether you are asked or not is wring and should not be defended. Its time that people who know they are on camera behave themselves and didn't act like animals
  21. 8000 according to spin merchants on SKY Even Alistair Campbell couldn't have made anyone believe that
  22. Well said. he gets more knocks and mickey taking on here but as far as I am concened he is very professional, doesn't let his club down and has been through more than most in terms of the bad times of speedway and still has come back with a sniff of the GP's Good on yer mate
