Big Meeting At Poole
Chris Brown replied to Saint Rob's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Crikey, agreeing with Orion and KevH in the same thread. That was certainly a bite Steve and IMO a bit OTT. Because the odd person holds an opinion which attacks your beloved Poole they are a Saddo. Get a grip mate ! -
Big Meeting At Poole
Chris Brown replied to Saint Rob's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Blimey, time fora lie down. Agree with you 100% Orion Just maybe people are thinking that is there is such a vast amount of money available in British Speedway it could be better directed than to people who will give nothing back to British Speedway in 2008 12 British riders in the EL and Poole are almost sure to give £60k to a foreigner who will thanks very much and return only for Cardiff while ripping off British fans to pay for it The argument would be the same whoever the team were holding the meeting but for me there are far better uses for a sponsor willing to give £60k. Just think, Poole could run a team in the Conference League -
Who Would You Like To See An Article On?
Chris Brown replied to Grachan's topic in Backtrack Magazine
I can vouch for the fact that Tony went to Denmark this week. Sat next to him on the flight on the way and on the way back to Billund on Monday and Tuesday. On the way back I think we put the world of speedway right Guess we will have to wait and see why he went -
2008 Gp Riders
Chris Brown replied to barrow boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I guess time will tell. Not that you would expect me to agree with that statement though. Lukas will go to the GP's and have fun. I suspect from time to time he may just fuffle a few feathers and p**s on a few peoples parade He has certainly not been out of his depth all the way through the qualifiers and at a World level this season Should be an interesting one -
2008 Gp Riders
Chris Brown replied to barrow boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Agree entirely. I would caviat that by saying that only riders who compete in the qualifying process for the following season should be eligible for wildcards. While I am not arguing against Chris Harris and Andreas Jonsson's inclusion, I am pleased that the other 2 wildcards all chose to attempt the qualifiers as did a nunber of the existing GP riders who felt a place in the Top 8 was not certain At the start of the season I saw it as a bit of an arrogant approach from the two Brits who didn't bother with the qualifiers and assumed they would get picked should they not qualified. In the case of Scott Nicholls, I would have been pleased that had he not qualified he didn't get a wildcard. Harris I have more sympathy but he should be in the qualifiers this year IMO And to stick up for Jarek Hampel in all this, he may not have qualified but he did go through the qualifers only to fail at the final stage -
Oxford Under 15's Final Round ...
Chris Brown replied to spuds-r-us's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Really good meeting with soem find entertainment by all the riders. Daniel Greenwood was a wrothy winner on the night without doubt, defeating James Serjeant 3 times on the night but all the riders should be proud of their efforts -

Blimey, doesn't say much for the rest of the reading team because Lukas showed a few of them the way home at Reading recently Still, Holloway would of missed that as he was in the bar during the meeting -

Wasn't sure I did. Just saying what I saw last week which of course may have little bearing on Friday -
Oxford Under 15's Final Round ...
Chris Brown replied to spuds-r-us's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
The three leaders Daniel Greenwood, James Seargent and Richard Franklin were all at Oxford last Friday getting a better feel for the track and Oxford regular Daniel Geenwood was very much the pick of the bunch. Looking forward to seeing the riders of the future in action -
What ? Pie man giving away free Ginsters. Fat chance !!!

Denny Pyeatt Memorial Trophy
Chris Brown replied to Racer X's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Blimey Minder, praise from old Parsloes, no wonder people wanted your autograph In all seriousness, its good to see that things down Reading way are on the up after the mess left by the so called masters in speedway promotion. Good to see real Reading fans putting some spirit back in the club -
Denny Pyeatt Memorial Trophy

Blimey, its become that difficult for the kids to find a hero at Reading now ?? Is that a general statement Parsloes or just relating to Filip Sitera Knew you'd come round -
Denny Pyeatt Memorial Trophy
Chris Brown replied to Racer X's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Minder I hope you would have announced it differently to they did at Pardubice because for some reason they replaced the A with the U and got roars of laughter each time. He was pretty useful though -
Filip Sitera In Aussie Title
Chris Brown replied to spiderweb's topic in International World of Speedway
I suspect he was just as entertaining as in the Czech Golden Sash and Tomicek meeting. A vastly improved rider over the past couple of years and one to watch I suspect -
She always knows what I am up to Bryn, doesn´t always like it though
-
Decent meeting too, the best Tomicek Memorial I have seen with superb entertainment between ¨races too
-
Agreed the racing was top class with many very competitive races. Best wishes to Mario Jirout who it is reported broke two verterbrae and will haev an operation this morning after a frightening crash involving Rune Holta and Hynek Stuchauer
-
I am sure it will still be a great meeting. Been in Pardubice since Wednesday and the weather has been OK. Bit wet this morning and forecast to be colder over the weekend but I am sure it will not spoil the fun
-
Don't think so Parsloes. The final round of the Czech Extraliga is tommorrow (Wednesday) at Slany. Sadly we do not land until 7pm so too late to make it. So fro anyone who is going maybe I will bump into you. A combination of Teamn Dryml shirts and an Oxford Cheetahs coat will mean you have probably found me Don't worry about the top boys pulling out, the racing will be top quality whoever goes out on the track at Pardubice

World Final V Grand Prix
Chris Brown replied to longlivefrankie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Spot on Steve. Lots of people make lots of money out of the GP circus and it won't change but for me a one off was infinitely better. The GP's are also struggling with keeping it going IMO. The changes to the points system have made little difference and to be honest we've known for the past couple of years who will be World Champion half way through the season. -
Pete Redfern Memorial Meeting
Chris Brown replied to Crouch's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Sam is not too bad Crouch We had a get together to make sure his old man is clearing off back to Aussie tomorrow and although Sam was on crutches tonight, he said it was not too bad and I reckone he will ride at Oxford Friday Hope Marty's flight home is sound and the bars in Talem Bend can breathe a sigh of relief knowing he's back -
Look forward to seeing you there Jeff. Probably find us in the bar
-
I hope Keeno stayed awake for the meeting. The only person I know who can sleep in his seat at Cardiff and miss 8 races
-
And an advantage they deserve Now whether the GP series is right for Lubos at this time of his career is for debate but he done the qualifiers and many riders didn't expecting to yet again be given a free pass. Maybe free passes should be earned rather than being expected
