  1. He deserves a GP provided he qualifies for the GP series through the qualificatin rounds which of course he is trying to do Its questionable whether he has done enough on the world stage to gain a wildcard Although I would agree he has more right than any rider outside the top 10 who was arrogant enough not to even bother with the qualification process
  2. Shame for Ales who went into the final round as the only man with a realistic chance of beating Zagar and from a race for the title in Heat 19 he ends up 7th
  3. www.Speedway.si reports that it is raiing at the moment and they are waiting until the rain stops before anything happens
  4. Was certainly Peter Johns last year Steve but not 100% sure this
  5. Lets not forget that had we had two wildcards it would have been Bjarne Pedersen and NOT Lukas that would have missed out
  6. The final round took place tonight with Lukas Dryml being crowned Czech Champion with Ales Dryml 2nd and Lubos Tomicek 3rd
  7. Don't stay in the Labe, its dreadful. Brown water from the taps is just the start
  8. But parking, access et al is shocking. Went along to watch Quins RL as normal on Saturday to be faced with traffic and parking chaos as Iron Maiden were playing at Twickenham. Parking was £20 per car, traffic was utter chaos and the place cannot cope
  9. All about the clubs they ride for for that one. It will generally be a Prague rider that gets it
  10. Sponsorship is the thing though Sandman. With the GP's comes TV exposure and therefore greater sponsorship opportunity Does make you wonder where your exhorbatant ticket prices go though doesn't it. Cardiff, 40000 at an average of £40 with the expense of laying a track but at the speedway tracks there is possibily very relatively little expense in putting on a GP for the returns involved Its no wonder a commercial company loves its GP series so much
  11. The Polish scores for riders who excelled by qualifying for the GP Final is interesting today From Italy Monberg - 1 pt from 3 rides Zagar - 1 pt from 3 rides Pavlic - 2 pts from 4 rides From Sweden Iversen - 2 pts from 4 rides Bjerre - 2 pts from 4 rides Ferjan - 2 pts from 3 rides Good job they all got it together in the individual meetings. I suspect their Polish clubs will be non too chuffed
  12. Having been to Millennium Magic RL at Cardiff both times it is a great weekend but hotels are a big issue for that as well as its over two days. Edinburgjh and Dublin are both keen to muscle in on that concept and Cardiff are certainly not cast iron certainties
  13. Couple of options I stayed in Hotel Euro last year which was full of speedway people around 5 minute walk from the town and not too far from the track but I would not want to walk from the town to the track. It has a night club across the road http://www.hoteleuro.cz/hotel-euro-pardubice-en.htm Other option is Pension ZelenZaba (Green Frog), its above a sports bar. We ate there last year and it looked good http://www.zelenazaba.cz/
  14. Result of this meeting from www.speedway.si 1. Češka 59 Matej Kus 12 Aleš Dryml 13 Adrian Rymel 10 Lukaš Dryml 13 Luboš Tomiček 11 2. Finska 40 Tomi Reima 6 Juha Hautamaeki 8 Kauko Nieminen 12 Tero Aarnio 4 Kai Laukkanen 10 3. Slovenija 35 Denis Štojs 0 Izak Šantej 9 Matej Žagar 15 Maks Gregorič 10 Ales Kraljič 1 4. Italija 16 Mattia Carpanese 3 Alessandro Milanese 4 Daniele Tessari 0 Marco Gregnanin 4 Andrea Maida 5
  15. I suggest Knox Road or Dumfries Place car parks. They are the ones I use when going down for the Wales footy. Both are fairly pricey (around £10 for the day) but in the centre and not far away
  16. Gates had shut down in May when I was at the MS for the Rugby League
  17. Have to say that watching it back this morning I have to say that being as someone had to be excluded I thought the ref got it wrong and Lukas should have been excluded IMO. It was however a racing incident And for goodness sake let a meeting from years ago lie will you. I suspect Lukas isn't losing too much sleep about you having no respect for him Show me a rider who hasn't ben involved in an incident and I will show you a rider who isn't racing
  18. Two I have stayed at Pension Klara in Holsevice, not far from Sparta and a straight 10 minute tram ride from Marketa and 5 mins from cnetral Prague. The owner Karol speaks perfect English http://www.prague-accommodation.cz/ Also stayed at Hotel Andel on the other side of town by the Staropramen brewery but also a straight tram ride http://www.hotelandel.com/ Pension Klara is really good value though
  19. Personally I believe that those in the GP's that fail to make the Top 8 and do not enter the qualifiers should NOT qualify for consideration as a wild card. Nicholls always fails to enter and therefore IMO should not have the option of a wildcard. I would also advocate a limit of the number of times you can be awarded a wildcard for the series. I can see no reason why there should not be a limit of two in a riders career
  20. Which was won by Lukas Dryml Šampionát před závěrečným podnikem v Liberci: Praha Pardubice TOT 13.5. 14.5. 1. Lukáš Dryml, Pardubice 12 15 27 2. Luboš Tomíček, Praha 14 11 25 3. 21. Didn't bother him too much did it ? And there were those who said he was out of his depth
  22. Missed that one on the commentary, what was the background
