  1. Sensible thoughts IMO At his age he surely doesn't need to be part of that circus Concentrate on improving himself in league racing and the time will come
  2. That's because speedway needs TV a damn site more than TV needs speedway, the complete opposite for football Struggle to understand why anyone would think that TV needs to dance to speedways tune. At the end of the day its a minority sport which SKY use as a bot of a filler between their flagship sports Time for everyone to realise that
  3. Not to worry Steve, I am sure when you realise that you will change your mind anyway Have to say that as someone who has pretty much lost interest in the sport I thought the bit of Mondays meeting I saw was very good. Personally I hold the view that PL tracks is they are capable of holding such events should do so. I would much prefer tracks to make a few quid who are likely to re-invest it in British youngsters rather than the EL tracks who p**s it away on 3rd rate foreigners and watch what little money we do have in the sport go overseas
  4. Is that the same pressure they have used to make a difference to hotel pricing ? If so don't hold your breath The Rugby Football League had the right idea with the hotel costs. In Year 1 of Millennium Magic weekend the complained the the local Commerce Chambers and said that prices had to be reduced. In Year 2 they were not so the whole weekend moved to Murrayfield and Cardiff lost out Lets be honest, IMG is a money making organisation who couldn't give a stuff about whether the fans enjoyed it or not because despite clearly reducing the standard and the cost ofrunning the whole even year on year supporters are still all prepared to pay for tickets for next year 12 months in advance As long as that is the case any improvements will be nothing to do with IMG and if the Millennium Stadium want to make improvements it will not be because little IMG asked them to, although I have no doubt they will claim the credit
  5. At least they only fell out on the night as opposed to the Team GB who have Nicholls and Harris hardly the best of mates for years
  6. Check it out on http://www.speedwaya-z.cz/ You need to look at Kalandar akci Looks like Mseno v Pardubice on Monday (Mseno is about 50 miles north of Prague and if you are still there on Wednesday the first round of the Czech Championship at Pardubice. Pardubice is about 90 mins by train
  7. But Steve the racing at a track like that bears no relation to Cardiff where 8 of the 9 have been sterile and tedious. Great atmosphere and event but awful racing at Cardiff
  8. The track at Pardubice was apparentyl extremely wet with almost no visibility at all for the riders
  9. Then so be it. Its the world championship, not some invitational tournament That would be the luck of the draw
  10. But in previous years Harris has been too arrogant to bother with the qualifiers and that has been ignored in giving him previous wildcards. Sorry but the qualifier debate is irrelevant in this case. Personally I would maek it a rule that anyone who doesn't do the qualifiers should not even be considered for a wildcard but I would never win that one. Facts on Harris are that he was awarded a wildcard to the 2007 series and didn't do the qualifiers during that season, this was the same in 2008. Let be honest he only done them in 2009 because even he would never have believed in a million years he would get a 4th freebie pass Its a ciompletely undefendable situation which even Harris must be embarrassed by
  11. But not according to todays press release And to think I thought it was bizarre that I once agreed with Orion. Thats's nothing on these two agreeing. Still they are both wrong according to BSI today Anyway enough of this Parsloes/Lucifer love in. Jamie Robertson had no impact on the CL title in 2005......discuss !!!! That'll stuff it up
  12. In fairness 2009 was the first time Harris bothered with the qualifiers, can't remember anyone saying he should not have been considered in previous years as he didn't get through the qualifiers l
  13. Would I be right in saying that Chris Harris has NEVER qualified for the GP series 2007 - Nominated as a Permanent wildcard 2008 - Nominated as a Permanent wildcard 2009 - Nominated as a Permanent wildcard 2010 - Nominated as a Permanent wildcard Now I am all for giving people a chance but for goodness sake this is his 4th nomination for something he has NEVER qualified for Taking the mickey if you ask me
  14. Jeepers, I agree with Orion ! Spot on mate, you should have to earn the right to compete for the World Championship, not be handed it for failure All 4 of these failed to qualify and should not be in it
  15. Thanks for your help Was at the meeting on Sunday but didn't go in 2008 so will be good to see that one as well Cheers
  16. Can you help on how to download and save Cheers
  17. Just got home from Czecho and very pleased to hear that. His crash was right in front of us and he hit the fence very very hard. The speed they got him on a stretcher and into the ambulance on the track was unusually quick. He looked in a pretty bad way so mighty relieved to hear it
  18. You at Pardubice this year Jeff ? I am going to Prague with the good lady this year on Friday but not coming over to Pardubice until Sunday, she hates speedway but wanted to see the country
  19. At the end of the day this is spot on Of course other riders had to go through additional qualifying rounds whereas he was seeded directly to the semi final
  20. Agree, you have to earn the right to a wildcard pick and there is not a Brit who justifies selection IMO. Tai Woffinden is well on the way but maybe its a year too early. Harris has failed to qualify for two years now and Nicholls and Richardson are spent forces IMO at a world level No doubt Harris will get yet another chance though. 4 GP series and only actually qualified once
  21. In fairness he was stone last when Pepe fell and in the first running of the race where Niemenen wiped him out he had missed the start when Niemenen gave Lukas a big shove and turned him round causing Zorro to hit him Having said that he fully deserved it and he Holder and Pepe were by far the quickest riders on the night
  22. But he was reserve for tonights meeting and was not there. Doesn't show any commitment to the GP so for me he should not get a pick Juist my opinion
  23. Just arrived back after my first meeting since the closure of Oxford and enjoyed it. Racing was pretty dire and whether people think Zetterstrom will be good for the GP's or not he deserves his place by coming through a whole series of qualifiers and has more right than any of the BSI 'picks' to his place. One thing having not been to Coventry for about 4/5 years is that the whole presentation there is just so tired. It hasn't moved on in that time and probably the 20 years before that. Please somebody retire Peter York, he is really a bit of an embarrassment Surprised at the crowd, much larger than I was expecting and by 11pm was bored and didn't stay for the run off As for the idea of Lindback getting a wild card pick, no chance. Where was he tonight, he was supposed to be meeting reserve, why pick him if he can't be arsed to be there
