  1. The Oxford SOS group have sponsored a rider at this meeting and with this comes 2 VIP tickets which include admission to the meeting, admission to the VIP area and a Hot and Cold Buffet These will not be used so the best offer I have for these two tickets by 5pm on Monday will mean that somebody can buy these tickets and the proceeds can go back into the Ben Fund. Send me a Private Message and I will make contact with the person with the highest offer Cheers
  2. I would like to see a rule which says that unless you actually try to qualify yourself you should not even be in contention for a free pass into the series
  3. Some riders get into the GP in the first place by being chosen though, some then actually carry on and qualify. Chris Harris is of course an exception, he got a free pass in and with one exception has had a free pass every year
  4. And i bet the speedway press quite enjoy these jaunts around Europe in these hotels every couple of weeks as well No wonder they like it to SO its just the riders and the fans who are being ripped off then. OK, as long as we understand who the important are in all this
  5. I suspect Reading Speedway are one that didn't benefit from this professionalism. He left them high and dry. Fuelled my view at the time that he and his organisation had no care for the sport
  6. My team is dead and buried so it didn't help us very much
  7. Yes it was of course sarcastic. Its just interesting the the GP is put so much ahead of UK league racing by so many riders because its the most important thing yet when there is a threat to their income its not quite so important I absolutely understand Pepe, he should probably feel annoyed that he spend a fortune competing in the qualifiers only to find it all wasted In fairness Poland are only doing what the UK done a couple of years ago and nobody pulled out of the GP then
  8. Not like you to appear on a thread supporting the wonderful job BSI/IMG do for the sport Philip. Perish the thought people do not share your view. I am entitled to my view as you are without it being rubbished. No I am no GP fan, never have been and never will. The fact that its in such a mess now says it all for me, they seem to be struggling to persuade riders to take up a freebie gift to ride in it. I totally accept others views that the GP is wonderful, just wondering who its wonderful for. I do find it amazing how quick you are to defend the GP series on just about every thread that starts. As for the comparison of FIFA taking money out of the World Cup, yes of course they do, but BSI are not the governing body, they are a commercial organisation who take money out of the sport adn in my opinion couldn't give a t*ss about the sport or the fans, my opinion that's all IMO the FIM should be the ones making the money not some external organisation. Can you imagine FIFA allowing someone else to run the World Cup and keep a large slice of the proceeds. That is a far better comparison than the one you make
  9. And anyone who turns down a wildcard should NEVER be offered another route into the GP without qualifying by right Choosing money over the chance to be world champion....................bizarre Hopefully this is the GP circus crumbling around us and as has been said we can get back to a proper world championship rather than a money making scheme for a company who take all the money out of the sport
  10. Ales Dryml won the final round of the Czech Championship at Mseno on Saturday to win his 1st Czech Championship after dropping just 4 points in the 3 rounds 1st. Ales Dryml 41 (14,13,14) 2nd. Tomas Suchanek 36 (11,13,12) 3rd. Matej Kůs 32 +3 (12,14,6) 4th. Jan Jaroš 32+2 (12,7,13)
  11. He is in it because he done the qualifers and qualified. He therefore has more right than any of the 4 names today
  12. To be fair with 12 places available the question should be whether he is one of the top 12 in the world. In my opinion he has benefited hugely from being British, was he not then he would not be in the GP series Just an opinion
  13. Problem is that there are very few other options My issue with Harris is that he never qualified in the 1st place and has actually only qualified once himself which to be honest is hardly deserving of another wildcard. Yes he finished 2nd in Gorican but in the other 10 he was pretty ordinary. Its not good enough to have one good one at the end of the season. 48 points from the first 9 GP's is just a shade over 5 points a GP and not enough to justify his inclusion. Just 5 points more than Rune Holta after 9 GP's who was never in the hunt for a wildcard. He also didn't do the qualifiers which IMO should mean he wasn't in the hunt for a wildcard Of course because of the appalling state of British Speedway there are no other options so although he shouldn't get one other than not having a Brit (and wouldn't make the authorities sit up adn take notice) there are no other alternatives Sad state to be in really
  14. The question was about whether they were consulted on this subject. I have only attended 3 GP's at Cardiff because to be honest I felt it was overpriced for a crap track and a crap meeting, my opinion and don't expect it to be agreed with. So personally I don't think the fans are well catered for. As for the riders, no idea but I keep reading there is no money in the GP's. Well someone is making money out of it and I assume that is all going outside the sport ? Maybe I am just not a fan of the GP circus and therefore my view is not representative but that's all it is......a view. But a view of someone who used to attend 3 tracks every week and has only attended 3 meetings, 2 in Czecho since Oxford closed.
  15. Since when have the GP organisers given a t*ss about riders and fans ?
  16. Both brothers ran Peterborough, initially Mick and Colin bailed him out and then Colin ran Oxford as well and drove it into the ground. As for money owed, it certainly was to lots of people who got nothing. Allen Trump will tell you what was owed to the stadium, local companies etc

You need him like a hole in the head and I would be amazed if Sanhu let him anywhere near it

  17. The Semi Final groups and Final were live on Czech TV which also explained the fact that I have never known them crack through the racing at the speed they did before. The normal track grading after each of the groups was stopped and they clearly had to make a deadline Last year I found the highlights here http://www.ceskatelevize.cz/hledani and enter "Motocyklové závody" in the field about the Google sign Looks like the highlights are there, 95 minutes of it
  18. Round 2 of the Czech Championship took place tonight at Prague and was won by Matej Kus who cut Ales Dryml's lead to a single point with the final round to go on 15 October at Mseno Dryml leads with 27 Pts with Kus on 26 and Suchanek on 24 Results from www.SpeedwayFatka.cz 1. Matěj Kůs 14 (3,2,3,3,3) 2. Tomáš Suchánek 13+3 (1,3,3,3,3) 3. Aleš Dryml 13+2 (2,3,3,2,3) 4. Filip Šitera 13+R (3,2,2,3,3) 5. Václav Milík 12 (3,3,3,1,2) 6. Jan Holub 9 (0,3,2,2,2) 7. Jan Jaroš 7 (2,2,1,2,d) 8. Zdeněk Simota 6 (3,1,R,M,2) 9. Eduard Krčmář 6 (2,2,1,0,1) 10. Roman Čejka 5 (0,0,0,3,2) 11. Michal Dudek 5 (2,1,1,R,1) 12. Jaroslav Petrák 5 (1,1,2,d,1) 13. Zdeněk Holub 3 (R,2,1) 14. Ondřej Veverka 3 (1,0,1,1,0) 15. Martin Málek 2 (R,R,2,F/N,-) 16. Ondřej Smetana 2 (0,1,1) 17. Martin Gavenda 2 (1,1,R,R,0) 18. Pavol Pučko 0 (0,F/N,-,-,-)
  19. Good question, 3 programmed, none rode, why not ? If they are injured then OK but assume they were available as they took the booking Was a decent meeting, very impressed with the younger Pawlicki and Bjerre the younger too. Bolts was a worthy winner Hope Mada Korneliussen and Magnus Zetterstr are OK having both been taken away by ambulance
  20. It should be on www.zlataprilba.cz I know there are a few withdrawals. In Prague at the moment and it's scorching hot, should be a great day for it at least on Sunday
  21. Yes but they have to make the same choices other make. Something has to give and if they choose to given the GP Qualifiers a miss then its the GP that also has to miss if they don't qualify I would personally do away with the wildcard process anyway, whether 9-15 all deserve a 2nd chance I am not sure but can certainly see the logic of dropping out the last 4 and adding more from the qualification process. If the 9-12 riders are good enough then they would come through, if they don't then bad luck Riding is the GP series should be something you have to earn on the track and not in the organisers board room Just my view
  22. It bugs me that riders who do not attempt to qualify through the qualifying system get wildcards. Fair play to Darcy Ward, yes he failed to qualify but he tried, Pedersen and Lindgren didn't although I think Lindgren did the year before Chris Harris annoys me by not doing the qualifiers, he got in the series in the first place through a wildcard and only once in all the years he has been in the series has he qualified for the next year. That is a rider who SHOULD be doing the qualifiers rather than sitting back and expecting yet another reprieve. 8 crap GP's and one good one doesn't mean you deserve another chance IMO 5 Brits done the qualifers, Kennett, Stead, Barker King and Wright. At least they tried to qualify under their own steam Not sure what the answer is other than no Brits in the series, we don't have any who deserve it which probably is what we need to finally wake up and realise just what is happening to British Speedway
  23. Have to say I would have to agree with that. Great thing about Pardubice is that the weekend will be fun and the racing is generally always good so the standard of the field gernerally does not detract from the event. Problem is that is clashes with the Polish playoffs
  24. I see the line up (or most of it) has been announced on www.speedwayfakta.cz Looking forward to my first speedway meeting for 2 years.............in fact the last time I went to Pardubice 1 (neobsazeno) 2 WARD Darcy AUS 3 HAUZINGER Manuel AUT 4 KOVAČIČ Dino CRO 5 BJERRE Kenneth DEN 6 MONBERG Jesper B.
