I quite like it! That's a decent top 4. I'd prefer Ace at No6 if possible, I don't think that bottom three would score much away from home. My thinking, rightly or wrongly, is Ace at No6 and almost having a sacrificial No7 who can chip in 4ish points at home and 2ish points away.

Ace is a Glasgow asset, and I wonder if we might be thinking double Pijper at reserve, with wee brother Steyn, that might swing the deal.

I'd have Perry instead of Hodder BUT only to allow us to potentially have a higher averaged No6, for example Ace Pijper. I do think Perry has improved. It is a numbers game but coming last by twenty yards when having lead for a couple of laps, for example, is definitely an improvement on coming dead last by fifty yards having been last all race.

Come back Ace Pijper for '26, all is forgiven.

I don't think of Nagel as a particularly good gater, but he's aggressive, perhaps a tad too much sometimes.

I only started following speedway in the mid 90s. My first meetings were at Armadale and for a couple of years, once I was hooked, I would go to Edinburgh, Berwick and Glasgow, over a weekend. Peter Carr was probably the first rider who I thought was in a different class, which I later found out was literally true but IIRC he hardly ever came round to take the applause. Not never, but IIRC not regularly. I was never sure why, was he just being super professional and wanting the bike back with the mechanics asap......?

This is all very odd. Is Ashton still a Glasgow rider, or not? The TM and/or promotion cannot be unaware of the social media speculation, like it or not. It would be good to get an official statement.

I've no skin in this game, just a passing interest, but respectfully I don't agree that it's the same thing. I do see your argument but IMO there's a difference because the season hasn't started. If, hypothetically, Cook has quit speedway, I know I know again again, then he's not really withholding his services, he's not available at all to withdraw his services. It's an interesting conundrum.

I don't claim to be a font of knowledge but didn't Plymouth get a guest facility for Niko Cavati (sorry if that spelling is wrong) and he didn't start the season but was in their declared 1-7? He was "genuinely" injured and underestimated how long it would take him to recover IIRC.

As I mentioned a couple of posts back.... what's to stop Cook from telling the BSPA that he's not withholding his services, he's told Berwick to remove him from the team.... if that's what's going to happen of course.
