I'm sure Ged is frustrated and disappointed, but it was his call to bring in Konopka. Genius decision - not! I share your pessimistic view about the way things are/have been going. -

Memo to Ged Rathbone: Send Konopka back to smogmonster-land PDQ and bring in another young Brit. We'd prefer to have Greenwood back than what we saw from Konopka today. Utterly useless! -
I think 99% of forumites understood the point you were making. Ashlee123 is trying very hard to wheedle out of the bollox about Simon Lambert & his father - publicly refuted by the latter on here - but still she refuses to apologise to you. She just keeps digging herself in deeper. Bit like Steve Sh!tshoveller on the EL forum: best ignored

I think we all feel sorry for Greenwood, but Hans Fan is right; he never seems to get into the race. Even if he gates well the opposition riders seem to pass him quite easily - and then it's another zero to his name. They gave him plenty of time but he wasn't getting any better. Bottom line: this change had to happen. -

yep, I thought that too. I haven't checked the fixtures and so on, but surely there must be somebody decent who could have filled in at No.1 instead of R/R. Ulrich can't be 100% yet, and there must be a question mark about Blackbird (glad he's back in the side though). So I reckon you're right about a cup exit being on the cards. Maybe they're not all that bothered though...... [*Edit: Just had a look at the fixtures and rider lists of those PLclubs not involved tonight - and it seems there aren't many options. VIssing's nameleapt off the page, but I think he's injured(?). Hmmm..... Kennett? Bach? K.Hansen maybe? I guess they were all sounded out :-/ Glad it's not a PL fixture!] -
So how did he get over there in the first place? Anyway, there were plenty of flghts available even if he doesn't have a driving licence. And there we have it; an excuse, and a very lame one! You're joking, surely? I rather suspect we do. If there was any valid reason it would've been given at the outset instead of the bullsh!t we got fed. In the absence of any acceptable explanation it's reasonable to conclude that he just couldn't be ar5ed to make the effort for what was, to him, just a low priority PL meeting. WHAAT?!!!!! Of course it is. He agreed to ride for Panthers this season and he should have made more effort to honour that commitment, just like Danny King & Gino Manzares did. We stick our hands in our pockets and that alone makes it our business ffs! The fact that fans have always been fobbed off, kept in the dark, and treated like irrelevant nuisances doesn't make it right.

You studiously avoid the points that I and a few others are making. We all understand that there's a rule - a sh!tty rule - that gave RL a loophole by which he could swerve the Ipswich meeting. So please, there's no need to keep repeating it. What we're complaining about is two main points: 1. if Danny King & Gino Manzares could make it back, WITH vans, bikes, mechanics, WHY couldn't Lambert? 2. since it has now been proved that it was possible, it follows that Lambert simply opted not to. To me, the most galling thing is the bullsh!t excuses that were trotted out. Which kinda proves that there was no valid reason otherwise we'd have heard about it right from the off. And now that the excuses have been exposed as bullsh!t, the silence from the Panthers camp is deafening. No doubt they're relying on the tactic of last resort: "keep schtum and it'll be next week's chip paper". The only break in that silence is the odd forumite banging on about how Lambert was "allowed" to miss it. Jeezus H..... but that doesn't make it right! Until & unless we get a vaild and acceptable explanation (*) for his non-appearance we can only assume that he simply couldn't be ar5ed. So we'll remain very pi55ed off about it, especially as it cost us the points. (* I'm not holding my breath on that one!)

so what are the "full facts"? Just askin' like.... But being "entitled" to do something doesn't always make it right. Or acceptable. Using a convenient FIM rule, especially one which stinks, is a lame defence to the criticism he's getting from many Panthers fans. If, for example, a credible reason had been given it would've been different. Something like: "there are a lot of factors to take into consideration and although it might just be possible to make it back I won't be there. Hope Panthers fans will understand and accept this. Good luck to my Panthers team mates. I'll definitely be riding at Newcastle....". We would've been disappointed but at least we wouldn't have had our intelligence insulted by the bollox he and Ged Rathbone were spouting. We've had a belly-full of that in recent years!

so speaks his uncle Ash....... he won't be missed if he does eff off - you can't miss what you never had in the first place. -
"Rathbone said....." I think I prefer to believe Danny King than another bit of blatant spin-doctoring by Panthers' management. They made an initial clumsy excuse: that he couldn't get back. When that got shot down they twisted it to: well maybe HE can but his bikes can't. That got shot down too when we heard that King got his bikes back no problem. Now they're having another go, trying to tell us that King was in a different position and didn't need to get his GB bikes back. Turns out that's bullsh!t too! And I don't buy the comment made elsewhere that Lambert's only 17 with limited resources. Maybe so, but what has cost got to do with it? Perhaps he does only have one set of bikes & equipment - but it costs the same whether he came back in time for Friday's meeting or a day later. What next from Rathbone & Co? My money's on "Ah but on Fridays he has to go via Timbuktoo!" I'd keep Toft, Ostergaard, Blackbird & Simon Lambert, and look for 3 new riders: Allen - obviously has to be replaced Greenwood - time's up! Robert Lambert - close the gate on your way out. Is that do-able? How many points would we have to play with? And who's available? spot on! I'm getting a bit pi55ed off seeing all these ridiculous and increasingly desperate bullsh!t comments - here and elsewhere - trying to excuse R.Lambert's non-appearance.

Robert Lambert can **** off. -
for sure. Ostergaard wasn't at his best - probably due to the injury (?), Kus blew hot & cold, Toft struggled with his bikes in his first 2 rides, simon Lambert was also unlucky with his machinery. Greenwood continues to be rubbish and has to be replaced, surely? But excuses aside, Ippo deserved the narrow win on the night - and Robert Lambert's disgraceful no-show cost us the points.
-
We can only hope that Ulrich rides ok and that the injury doesn't affect his riding too much. yeah Brady Kurtz will do for me. Not bothered about L.Bjerre - agree about heat 1 Not so sure about Kus though. If my memory serves me well he was distinctly average last time we saw him at the Showground - but I'm happy to stand corrected on that.
-
I heard a whisper that he's a bit, erm, disenchanted with Panthers because they stuck with Toft (sound decision imho) and he doesn't think he'll get back in the Panthers team. I guess it's his preogative to take a guest ride against us, but from the fans' point of view it does stick in the craw. It'd be interesting to know if Panthers asked Roynan to ride FOR us in this meeting. If they did, maybe Ipswich had beaten them to it - in which case fair enough. But if he blanked Panthers then eff him. And if Panthers didn't even consider using Roynan then it makes us wonder why. .

Panthers V Berwick 29/5/2015 Premier League 7.30pm

I agree. At first I had negative feelings about the PL and clung on to the idea that we'd return to the EL asap. But I'm converted now and although the EL does have the attraction of seeing the top riders, there are very few star names in the EL any more. No Crump, Adams, N.Pedersen, Lindgren et al (I don't include KBjerre in that list!). Hans & PK are the only riders I miss seeing. So all things considered I'm not that bothered about not being in the EL. In fact I reckon this season - so far - has been the best since 2006. It's early days, of course, and the big test now will be whether/who/when/how they will bring in a new No.1, and what they will do about Greenwood. But I'm fairly confident that they're capable of boxing clever - unlike what happened under Rick Frost! For all his big bucks and promises his tenure was a failure from start to finish. Oh wait, I'm forgetting the snazzy vans and showers in the changing rooms.....!
