Bit touchy aren't we? The Aussie championships is the only speedway taking place at the moment, this is a speedway forum and Poole traditionally have a number of Aussie riders so hardly surprising Poole riders are being discussed on here!

I think you miss my point Clive. Banks want to lend money - but not if it is risky. So if that is the case no-one should be lending the money and Mick shouldn't be borrowing it! The problem is we supporters are looking at it from an emotional angle and want the club to continue but the promoters should only be approaching it from a purely commercial standpoint.

But it doesn't require a business loan from the Council though. Mick Horton could get a business loan through his commercial bank - he already has a business. This assumes the business plan meets the requirements of the business loan application. If it doesn't then he shouldn't be lending the money off anyone. Is the whole thing viable without the Stock cars? Lots of questions which is why we are not hearing much I guess!

Hate to say this but can't see Coventry Bees coming to the tapes in March 2017. It is going to cost someone a considerable amount of money to put right and don't see who will be able/prepared to invest in the sport. It is really sad and hard to look at that video.

Promotion and relegation between the top leagues will never work unless it is very, very lucrative to be in the top division and that is never going to happen in speedway unfortunately.

Agree with you Woz regarding the competition for sports in Coventry. I know the promotion and Trev Randle in particular do a great job locally with the Motorcyle Show stand and generally publicising the sport. I did like the way Matt spoke though.
