First of all - if they want to go to another meeting then brilliant, you have done a great job. If they actually ask about Nicholls which I doubt as it is only their second meeting you explain that this is a totally unique sport and for over 50 years, riders have been able to take guest rides for other teams to try to keep the racing close and create good meetings. If they ask any further questions they are probably winding you up and been going longer than you!!!

But do newbies need to have it all explained to them? Surely to someone who has never been to speedway before it all about 4 guys skilfully blasting round a shale track at 70 mph with no brakes. For me, they only need to know the ins and outs if they really get in to it!! Just my opinion!

Yes that is exactly right. You can't look back when you have a business - you can only look forward and change the business to suit the current situation. You have to look after your customers (supporters) and give them value for money but at the same time your customers need to understand that any business needs to make money. It's all about engaging as much as possible with your customers, getting them on your side and making them feel valued. That is where a lot of speedway clubs/promotions have gone wrong in the past.
