  1. Ah cheers ER. Younger than I thought - seems to have been around for ages! PS You can call me TR!!!
  2. Poole might well be the team/promotion that can get the best out of him. I honestly don't think we have seen the best of Nicolai in the UK. I think he is only about 25 years old.
  3. This very good news - well done to Mick, Neil and Blayne for getting involved and taking it on. I will still mourn the loss of EL racing but the most important thing for Peterborough Speedway and speedway in general is continuity of racing at the EOES!
  4. I told you not to panic Steve Brum - great news!!!
  5. I think this is getting lost in translation now! I don't think Tsunami was referring to the PL in any of his responses, even if it sounded like that to you - that's the way I see it anyway! Move on!
  6. Now c'mon Crazy, you know that if you want to infiltrate the Poole topics you have to tow the Poole Party Line! Debate is not an option!!
  7. Nasty injuries by all accounts. He had a 5 hour operation at Coventry & Warwickshire Hospital. He suffered a broken jaw in several places, fractures of his leg and arm plus damage to the shoulder. He will be having further surgery this week to his patella and cheek bone. He faces a lengthy rehabilitation process and first indications is that he will be out of action for six months. I think we underestimate the dangers these guys face doing their job. Steve, we are all thinking of you and hope you have a full and speedy recovery.
  8. Don't know why but I have a gut feeling that Tai will agree terms and line up with Wolves and that will fantastic for British speedway..................and Wolves of course!
  9. Interesting, so admission prices are 3 times higher now than in the 70's. I bet rider wages for heat leaders and machines and equipment are much more than 3 times the costs of the 70's.
  10. Steve's alright - quite harmless! He's a bit like a trojan..........when he gets into your thread, he's a devil to get rid!!!!
  11. Fully agree with that - he will be sorely missed as Holder will if he doesn't ride in the UK. But at the same time, why shouldn't he get remunerated at the same level as Holder, Gollob, Sayfutdinov etc?
  12. I hope that the crowds don't dwindle at Wimborne Rd next year then as Matt Ford was warning of financial woes back in January of this year following a loss in 2012. Then we had the 'running the Lakeside meeting....financial disaster' in May. Admission prices and attendances will be critical in 2014.
  13. As Kenni Larsen has ridden in the El for the last 3 years, is his (alleged) absence more to do with a) the offer in the contract or Leicester's race night?
  14. KKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. So how many extra came through the turnstiles would you say following his signing?
  16. Yes. Easter is being moved to June for next season!!!
  17. I used to prefer a magazine but now I use my iPad for certain publications I do like it. Thank you. Are there any features in the on-line version that you don't get in the magazine?
  18. Sorry for taking it off-topic but I am going to try the on-line version of the SS in the New Year so I can read it anywhere on my iPad. Anyone tried it out yet?
  19. That was a bit uncalled for, wasn't it?
  20. Thanks for the replies - so the numbers are not actually related to speedway directly, then. Yes, I think it would be a good idea to use their own numbers for the GP series. Helps with branding I guess and makes them a bit more recognisable outside of the sport - maybe?!
  21. Does anyone know the origin of the rider race numbers eg Tai Woffinden #108 Chris Holder #23 Greg Hancock #45 Martin Smolinski #84 Are those numbers given to them by a federation or are they just a favourite/lucky number? Cheers
