Excellent news regarding both riders - it did look bad. I am sure they will feel very second-hand for a few days I have supported speedway for a long time but as every year goes by I am more and more appreciative of the potential dangers the riders put themselves through for our entertainment.

Starry keeps popping out every now and again like there is something he needs to defend. But of course there isn't as he keeps telling us. Poole have done no wrong, no rules have been broken, nothing has been changed purely to suit Poole and their team building. Absolutely. Then you can really see how good your team manager is to get the best out of these young riders rather than your promoter constantly trying eek out another point for the team by swapping riders.

I have noticed it has gone very quiet on here from a lot of the Poole supporters. My sister lives in Verwood and was a regular at Poole for 25 years or so up to a few years back. She has friends that still go every week and they are appalled over the situation with the FTR in the last 48 hours or so. I really don't think the Poole management and the BSPA/rule-makers have any idea what damage this is doing to the sport.

You could say that about all the promoters. By the way, what's happened to Skidder1's original post - I was just about to quote it! A teams current position in the EL could determine which way a BSPA member may vote. That's why mid season rule changes should never be allowed. PS Apologies, it is still there - didn't look properly!

Some might! I know a lot of supporters at Peterborough that gave up going to speedway that next season who thought it just wasn't worth going any more if certain promotions can get their way when things don't go their way. And lets be honest, we have seen it happen since. So I believe there is a lot of apathy at EOES and possibly Brandon since that bitter dispute.

I think people underestimate the effect of the 'winter of discontent' 2010 and the how much it turned away supporters who had enough of the antics of some promoters and a BSPA who are just too weak to stand up to bully-boy tactics.
