Lakeside Vs Poole 1st Sept (sky Meeting)
Tom Turner replied to SCB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm hoping we see some of our old Bjarne tonight! If Bjarne can perform anywhere near how he did for us in his years as captain then I will be more than happy with him replacing Darcy for the rest of the season. Somehow, I don't see that happening, but fingers crossed. When Bjarne is at his best around Poole he is very fast and very smooth. Mr Consistent, as they called him, was also more than capable at packing in 8 or 9 points away. I remember in 2008/2009 (I think) Bjarne scoring a 21 point maximum for us, away too I believe. Not the best over taker but can be very hard to pass. Lakeside: Lewis Bridger, Danny King, Richard Lawson, Kim Nilsson, Davey Watt, Adam Ellis, Ben Morley Team Manager: Neil Vatcher Poole: Josh Grajczonek, Maciej Janowski, Vaclav Milik, Dakota North (guest), Bjarne Pedersen (guest), Benji Compton, Kyle Newman Team manager: Neil Middleditch -
This is a piss take.

With the amount of money Matt can make with a grand final at Poole I wouldn't be surprised if Matt was offering a bigger payment than they would normally receive?
-
We had him before you!

The enjoyment I've experienced from watching Darcy race for us still heavily outweighs the disappointment he's caused. Darcy has been responsible for the best races I've ever seen. I can honestly say Darcy has provided me with more entertainment than any other rider during my time as speedway fan. I know drinking the night before was a <removed> move on his part, but I say give him a break. He's had it in the ear from everyone, he's paid a fine, and he's already serving a ban. I am sure he has very much learned his lesson. I just hope he is back next season. We'd be lucky to have him. Of course they will. I am sure Matt, like any decent promoter, would offer a very tasty incentive.
-
It may have helped start his career, but once it's started they aren't interested anymore. Kicking him out won't teach him anything.
-
Perhaps if the lesson was not to bother with British speedway... He's hardly desperate to ride here!
-
On Poole’s next step, Middleditch added: “I think we’re looking at guests. The riders we wanted were not available, didn’t want to do it or were focused on the Grand Prix as their main goal." It's a shame that it's so hard to find a rider with all the brilliant talent in the world. Most are simply uninterested in England. I've heard many riders talk about how other riders encourage them not to waste their time with England. Hope we can find a replacement. I would be happy if KK fit's his average. Fingers crossed the season isn't over for us just yet.

Leicester V Poole, Saturday 23rd August 2014
Tom Turner replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Another example of terrible management by Middlo. As far as Ward goes, he's been looking very average recently, almost as if he hasn't been trying. I hope Pawlicki makes a fast recovery and doesn't have to miss out on much action, it would be sad if he has broken his collarbone. I always hate it when a rider gets hurt in England as I feel it makes them unlikely to ride here next season. If a fast recovery is not on the cards I would get rid of Darcy too and find another 2 riders to fill their place. -
His results were 0.5, after half an hour 0.45 and 0.39. The limit is 0.00.

Does anybody know what substance is in question? I cannot see it mentioned anywhere -

You'd of thought the ref could of made an exception considering the circumstances? It seems like it's at his discretion. -

Not hard though really is it? We didn't replace Hopwood with Compton, we replaced Johnson with Compton. -
It's the first time I've seen it. It's only just been posted on eSpeedway.

News Update Darcy Ward has received a 3000€ fine. A ban has not yet been decided.
-
A Polish friend of mine who is generally well informed has told me: "Darcy has been fined around 10,000zł and will not be allowed to compete in anymore Grand Prix's this season. Darcy will be allowed to resume league racing. It has not been decided whether or not Darcy will be awarded a 2015 Grand Prix spot yet. This will be determined after this years series has finished" But I cannot say whether this is true or not, this could very well just be rumor so please don't take my word for it.

Surely Poole would need to redeclare in order to do this? Could Poole operate R/R? I cannot think of any reason why Poole would be allowed to use the guest facility. -
