Out of all the different and sometimes relevant (in the case of the ref as usual!) ) reasons being discussed as to why Poole lost last night that I've seen in here, I havent seen any blaming Holder who was, quite frankly, useless! Just 8 points from 6 rides, including a tactical double, from a number 1 in a huge meeting where the team was weak, is not acceptable and although others (Kurtz, Tungate and Buck) were even worse, none of them were expected to score the big points that Holder needed to, to get Poole through. Well done to Wolves though, should be a good final but, baring injuries, think Belle Vue will win quite comfortably.

Kings Lynn V Poole Elb 13/09/16
ytsejam replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Think this will be a LOT closer than most people are expecting. Lynn with all their guests, look a stronger team than if they had their own team out and unless several of the Poole team seriously buck their ideas up from last night, then I think Lynn could even pinch this one! The reserves, as nearly always now (and as an aside, I think the number of rides a reserve is allowed should be reduced as most matches these days are decided by the performances of 2 reserves rather than that of the 1 - 5 in a team, which I don't think Speedway should really be about!) will be the deciding factor and I'll go for 46 - 44 to Lynn. -
There's a difference between actually commentating LOUDER and making moronic monkey noises and just shouting out the riders name like Pearson does whenever two riders get within a few feet of each other! He totally ruins it for me.

Poole V Kings Lynn Elb. 7/09/16
ytsejam replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Don't normally stick up for loud mouth Mr Shouty, but he was referring to the fact that tonight the Speedway was on the new SkySports Mix channel that is FREE so there would have been some people watching the speedway who don't normally see it as its normally on the "pay" channels. -
Exactly what I said in here immediately after heat 1 of the Lynn match. It was OBVIOUS to anyone with at least half a brain cell that if the useless ref let Iversen get away with a blatant roller in the first race then several others were going to try their luck the rest of the evening!. The worst thing is that on the occasions that he put out the red flags for a roller, the re-run was just as bad but he then let that go!! Arguably the most pathetic refereeing performance I've seen for a LONG time. Don't know who was the most pathetic though, the cretinous ref or the abysmal, embarrassing Lynn side!!
-
Cretinous referee looks like making a rod for his own back for the next 29 heats if he's going to let "rollers" like in that first heat, get away with it!!
-
Good commentators "commentate" through exciting things happening and amend their tone and volume accordingly. Pearson just resorts to making inane demented monkey noises whenever two riders get close to each other. He is NOT a good commentator.

Best meeting on TV this year by far...so much better than any of the GP's. Can you imagine the inane monkey noises shouty Pearson would have been emitting had we been unfortunate enough to have had him commentating on this meeting?!!

2016 Swc Semi's And Final 29/30/july 2016
ytsejam replied to hyderd's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
So who exactly is the sport for then?...the riders or the paying public?....stuff the public then as long as the riders love the surface eh?....The sport's really going to have a long term future with that sort of attitude, isn't it?!! The racing was pathetic and people paid a lot of money to see that rubbish,so no matter how many riders loved it, the paying public won't keep turning up for that for long and then what will the riders do? -

Well no, it doesn't 'make up' for the rubbish racing at all, but it does at least add a little interest to the borefest. -

What utter and complete rubbish this meeting has been!! Heat 12 before the first meaningful pass of the night!! Track is a useless, one line disgrace and as for that silly moo Perry with her 'what a night this is turning out to be' comments!!. Bring on Corrie I say!! -
So 5 from 3 is good then?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

King's Lynn V Swindon 20th July 7.30pm
ytsejam replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Agree totally. There is NO excuse whatsoever for not keeping the paying public informed about what is happening. Its disrespectful, unprofessional and ignorant and ultimately this responsibility comes down to the promoter of the event, not the referee. Now, Chapman certainly cannot be blamed for the weather or for the meeting ultimately being cancelled BUT he can be blamed 100% for the lack of information and thats a disgrace. -
Belle Vue V Wolverhampton 06-07-2016
ytsejam replied to GregoryM's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Agree totally about the 2 min rule. When did that change, I still thought that riders had to be up at the gate ready to go by the time the 2 mins were up. -
Was no future bringing him in at the start of the season in the first place!!...an utter farce of a signing!!

Swindon - Coventry 4.7.16 On Sky
ytsejam replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Oh, come on now, be honest...YES it really was!!. The promotion do a good job at getting in a half decent crowd only to then provide an utterly useless track which produced the most tedious meeting arguably seen on TV this year (in regards to passing)...and then they will whinge and whine when half the crowd don't come again next meeting!! -
Exactly!!....4+ hours for just TWENTY THREE!!! minutes of racing (well, OK, lets say 30 mins with all the re-runs!) is unacceptable and a disgrace to be honest. There is NO excuse for ever dragging out ANY normal 15 heat meeting (barring serious injury or rain interruptions) for more than 90 mins or a 23 heat individual meeting for more than 150 mins. Its normally done I reckon just so that people spend more in the bars etc as they are bored stupid with waiting about!
-
Brilliant performance and win for Belle Vue last night, Nicholls was inspired and the rest of the side all contributed. Track was a disgrace though, no excuses can be given for something as bad as that. Poole need a re-think about whats going on at the moment as too many of their riders aren't performing.

Belle Vue V Swindon 11 May, 2016.
ytsejam replied to Aces51's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Spot on. Reserves have always played a part in speedway but ever since the "draft" came in, more meetings than not, have been decided by their performances and the heat leaders importance has steadily declined. But this season with the new rules, it really has gone too far and nearly every meeting so far is being decided by whichever team has a so called "reserve" or even "reserves", scoring 15-20+ points on his own or between them, so that even when a World class number 1 like Doyle is missing (and replaced by an average rider like Harris) then the team can still easily win a meeting (away at that too!) because of their number 6 or 7 (or both!!). No wonder British speedway struggles to attract either a) many real quality riders or crowds!! -
