Very early days but one week later and I totally stand by my pre season words about Lynn and Poole. As I said with a totally inconsistant number 1, a youngster only there (at the moment) because of his surname & out of his depth right now ( to be fair he should get better with more experience) and another Aussie youngster who, at home, can be quite good but away mostly goes "missing"....then Poole will only be fighting for a play off place this season. And do any of you Lynn doubters want to reconsider too?!!

He's more concerned about keeping people hanging about when nothing is happening in the hope that they will then spend more in the bars/snack kiosks!

Rye House V Wolverhampton Sat 1st April
ytsejam replied to Dave Stummings's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Agree with you re: Clegg but Greaves is and always WILL be nothing more than a Championship quality reserve and the sooner he is replaced, the better for Wolves for sure. I was astounded when he resurfaced this year at Wolverhampton after witnessing his "efforts" a couple of seasons ago when he was last in the Elite league. It may be harsh to say but the lad is never going to make it. -
Fair play for commenting and putting forward your thoughts on your predictions, I have to say I totally disagree with both of them, but only time will tell who is right! Also disagree with your predicted winners, as their middle order looks weak on paper (Holder, whom I suspect is there mostly because of his name and Kurtz who really HAS to improve this season) and with arguably the most inconsistant (and dare I say, unreliable!) number one in the league, then I think Poole will be fighting for 3rd, 4th or 5th place I reckon.

...and Kings Lynn 6th?!!!.....I suspect (and hope, for the posters sanity's sake) that he is on a bit of a "wind up"!!
-
1.King's Lynn - strong on paper all round and if both Huckenbeck and Batchelor "click" they should win the league by quite a few points 2.Wolves - a settled and successful team, who will be the only serious challengers to Lynn 3.Belle Vue - not as strong on paper as last years side, should still comfortably qualify for the play offs 4.Poole - could be a disaster this year! Inconsistant no.1, unproven middle order (Kurtz, who needs to show far more this season and Holder, is he there because of his name?) and with the unfortunate injury of their "trump card", I feel they could even struggle to make the PO's 5.Rye House - will do very well at home, could struggle away, but will be challenging for a PO place. 6.Swindon - too reliant on one man to be anything other than just low, mid table fodder this year. 7.Somerset - will be quite hard to beat at home but will struggle to pick up more than a very few points away 8.Leicester- bottom again, sad for their fans especially when they also have to endure the "quality" of the racing at home each week too.

Not sure the many people reportedly owed lots of money by the "old" Belle Vue owners can quite so easily "forget that past and move on" but I get your point!

British Speedway - Dead Or Alive?
ytsejam replied to SarahLapworth's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Spot on really. Sadly I have no answer to the question but paying over £1 for every MINUTE of racing you see cannot be under any circumstances classed as good value for money, especially when at least 75% of each minutes racing is about as exciting as watching paint dry more times than not!! -
Well done the BSPA, correct decision, perhaps he should try having one in the country he really loves!!

Wildcards 2017.....
ytsejam replied to Panthers89's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I agree totally with that. Next season there is potentially the chance of having the strongest ever line up for the GP's with NO makeweights at all, for once, if the 4 wildcards are chosen sensibly. Surely Hampel needs to prove his fitness both physically and mentally first before being put straight back into the GP's? Look how long its taken Holder to get back to something near his best again after his horrendous accident. I would like to see Emil, Nicki, G.Laguta and probably Zagar given the 4 wildcards. -
Just need to hope that from now on the FIM act just as swiftly and decisively on future "occurences" like this, otherwise they will be just as bad as Hancock (and others over the years) have been.
-
I wish someone would shove Woffendons Monster drink bottle somewhere where the sun doesnt shine !
-
Just what is up with the two shouty cretins, still kept saying before the first semi that Woffendon and Zmarszlik were level on 123 points each when it was clearly wrong?!! Its clear thay are not capable of commentating without resorting to shouting and monkey noises but surely they should be capable of reading?!!
-
Agree, but was that another "tactical choice" so that he gifted his team mate Woffendon 3 points in that last heat?
-
Always admired Hancock for all he has done over the years but what a spoilt brat reaction from him, disgraceful behaviour from the newly crowned champion.
-
Hehe Next they will be bringing you the "breaking news" that "starts are important in speedway"!!!!!
-
What a dampner on Handcocks celebrations, being classed as a "cheat"!! What a stupid thing for him to do and well done to the officials for spotting it and acting upon it so quickly too.
-
Got to admit, that DID look bad!!....clearly trying to get a "Monster" 1,2,3 on the podium!
-
Good question from the OP. I personally think he's probably the least likely of the three to actually make it to the very top and think he could be the next "Magic" but to be fair he could also kick on and be much better than him. Think next season will be a HUGE one for him and will go a long way to answering the question as IF he is to get to the very top, he needs to be winning one or two GP's and getting a few more podium places. Time will tell!!

Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Grand Final 2nd Leg, 5/10/16...

Well, "Bonzo" seems to be sure that he did!!! -

To be fair to him. IF comments were made about his deceased father then he would have every right to be angry and any comments made in the heat of the moment could have been excusable. BUT he still SHOULD be acting as the World Champion ambassador for the sport and should not be making comments afterwards on social media about it, he should have shown he was a "bigger person" then those (allegedly) making the comments, but he didn't and has shown himself to be just as bad as them. -

When you're the "World Champion" in any sport, part of that means you then need to be a good ambassador for the sport during your reign as champ. The only thing Woffindon is good as an ambassador for is a kindergarten!. Comments in the heat of the moment are ALMOST understandable but comments on social media afterwards just shows who the "real" person is and his general level of intelligence!! -

Wildcards 2017.....
ytsejam replied to Panthers89's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Of course Emil should be given a wild card if he wants one. The GP series is supposed to be about the best riders in the World competing to be World Champion, so riders like him NEED to be in it rather than utter jokes like Harris and Bjerre! -
What a shock and speedy recovery he has made, eh?!!
