  1. What's happening with the track have I missed that bit?
  2. Well said baldy, the atmosphere has been brilliant since July and I thought the heat 3 challenge between covatti and Wright was the best I've seen all season.
  3. No complaints about the result and the best team by far won. Whatever the league set up is we must keep the momentum rolling. There has been a buzz about the place since July and we must not forget how far we have come this season.
  4. That's what I have often said. If you blood young British riders for 2 or 3 years then eventually some of them will improve.
  5. Let's all not panic. For a start we all knew tonight would be tough, secondly everyone seems to be forgetting that because of the no tactical rule it probably added 4 to 6 points to Somersets total, and thirdly it'll be the same for us next week. As I have stated before, its not necessarily what we do this year, its how we build on it next season.
  6. That's my concern, something has to change but I don't think the promoters have the guile to carry it out. Unfortunately as I see it, apart from some tinkering I wouldn't mind betting that British speedway will be exactly the same set up next year as this year, and we will still have the same problems. Oh and the obligatory claim from one team that they will fold without backing, last year it was scunny this year it looks like it will be workington.
  7. If the league structure is the same next year, as most of us probably believe the bspa don't have the savvy to change it, then we must attempt to keep as much of this team together as is possible. As you said baldy with previous riders we don't want any mad or bad eggs in the basket. I'm not sure what has clicked but all the riders seem up for it. One final point, dependent on averages I'm sure someone suggested we could bring in Danny Ayres by sacrificing just one rider. Any thoughts?
  8. I heard one or two groans about him falling off, I think some people forget he's a young lad who's been thrown in the cauldron of a do or die play off tussle, the pressure on him must have been immense and I think sometimes we all forget that.
  9. A great performance by a team seemingly on fire. We would have to completely blob it now to lose over 2 legs. Either way a poor season has turned into a great one now whatever the outcome. In addition I think the adrenaline and excitement has returned on a Thursday night and most importantly we must carry that over into next season. Well done to the massif, a great touch with the loo rolls, reminds us all of years gone by.
  10. I just wonder, not just the gaps between meetings but the general lack of them puts people off. Yes since July our frequency of meetings has been pretty good but before then it was stop/start. Obviously this is down to running costs but once again these issues are never adressed at the bspa agm.
  11. Quick question, if we don't make the play off semi final, will we end with the 16 lapper? Not trying to put a downer on just asking the question. If not isn't this the first time in Years that we have had a record low number of home meetings?
  12. Those mainly young riders you mentioned in the development leagues, I would like to see them thrown in at the deep end. It's the only sensible way of developing a young rider and moving their progress along. I do except that if British speedway took that course of action then for a couple of years the racing may be pants, but at least the young lads will gain experience. Of course some will fall by the wayside but some will improve, but more importantly they will all get the experience in the top leagues, primarily the premier league, but given the right support and guidance they can improve.
  13. I'm not sure suitable replacements can be sourced. The sport is in a mess and needs a top to bottom clean.I remember when doubling up started around 2003. I seemed to recall it was meant to be British riders under 21 allowed to ride in the elite league to gain experience. I thought at the time this is a bad idea and many of us were right. The question is how on earth did they allow it to get so out of hand.
  14. Hopefully sarjeant won't be injured for long. Otherwise the tapes manufacturer will be filing for bankruptcy!
  15. A shaky and nervous start but a great performance in the end and a well deserved play off place. Two important questions if anyone can answer, firstly who do we think will replace danyon Hume, presumably broken collarbones don't repair in a week, unless you use bostik or have healing hands, and secondly do Peterborough have an argument if they don't make the play offs, what I mean is we have made it on merit and points but Sheffield could be there by default. Potentially another speedway own goal?
  16. Our destiny is in our own hands. We must NOT fail.
  17. Panters macca? That's what my cat does when he is knackered. Probably explains why Peterborough can't buy a win😀
  18. Should they or do the scb encourage ex riders into refereeing. Surely they are best qualified to see it from a riders point of view?
  19. That Damn repeat button again. Anyway more importantly Mr Hume is a witches asset so at least we won't have to barter for his services. Slightly off topic but I find it amusing that Peterborough change half the team and still they can't buy a win!
  20. A good win as expected and roll on tomorrow night. Talking of roll on, referees really need to get a grip on this jump starting malarkey otherwise the tapes manufacturer will be nominated for a knighthood! Seriously though, Sergeant got a flyer in heat 1 even after being warned. Even so as speed ace said, numerous issues seem to be bypassed by the referee. Anyway 4 points tomorrow will really crank up the pressure on Sheffield at Rye House on Tuesday.
  21. With Sheffield beating Rye House tonight the pressure is really on us now. However a maximum 7 points from Sheffield and red car should hopefully keep us in the running.
  22. Hang back! We need to make sure we get our results before we make fun of others.
  23. I see Peterborough dropped another couple of points at home, we still have a chance of the play offs.
  24. Allow me to refrase, is it curtains for anyone who doesn't meet the cut?
  25. Are we to presume that if Newcastle don't complete their fixtures by 15th September then it's asta last Vista for them?
