  1. KK ave 8.57 and won all 3 heat 15s at home this sseason when we desperately needed him to Nicholls ave 8.44 expectations were not any higher surely Harris ave 6.07 granted bad start to the season but he responded by being a hairs breath from an away maximum at Poole Kennett ave 4.38 last year a No 1 and only 48 hours ago he beat Ellis, Lawson and Morris twice on their own track "theres none so blind as those who wish not to see"
  2. Edward Kennett at Sheffield British Semi Final 3 2 3 1 1 = 10 at Poole for Rye House 0 0 0 1 = 1(didn't beat an opponent) at Lakeside for Edinburgh 2 1 1+1 3 2+1 = 9+2 at Swindon for Rye House 1 0 1 ret = 2 (didn't beat an opponent) Eddie has given great service in the past to Rye House but
  3. wow our inspirational choice of guest has scored less than Kennett and Clegg, now that's not easy.
  4. I see Kennett beat Nick Morris twice on Saturday and scored 9+2 with our reserves Zach will be in double figures, so the top 3 will be isolated unless Kennett starts to deliver. Don't expect more than 38 and that wont be enough
  5. Well said overall, although Clegg is so out of his depth it is embarrassing (I think he has beaten an opposing rider who finished the race once all season) I think Kennetts effort (not for the first time this season) deserved a separate section. the only points I will add is Summers had yet to let the side down this season and not sure if Doolans crash in heat 2 had an impact on his evening. I would not normally be this harsh but this season is really risky for the rockets, the budget on the heat leaders is very expensive (of which the management should receive credit for), feeble TV money, stupid fixed race nights and Lakeside with a very attractive team down the road, an underperforming team is exactly what the doctor would not prescribe.
  6. Simply not good enough tonight, to lose by 4 to the weakest Poole team we will ever meet. Well three riders don't beat an opponent, Kennett rode for this lot last season and still only beat Clegg, after 10 heats we were 6 down and even with an interval we fail to think of having a tac/sub with KK and Nicholls available and Clegg has gets an EXTRA ride tonight, Im not sure which fact is the most amazing On some positive notes, well done Bomber, hope you can hit a good run now goodness how we need you, thanks KK for not losing interest and Scotty for continuing to defy "old father time"
  7. Well its D-Day for this Rye House 7 Often a season can be determined by when you meet teams and with Nicholls, KK and Harris in form, KK and Kennett roding here last year, Doolan is no weaker than NBJ and finally missing Worrall/Kildermand weakens Poole. In short, no excuses its big win or big changes.
  8. Great to see Bomber getting 13 at Leicester last night after his 0 a few weeks ago at the same venue clearly his early season problems are now behind him and I look forward to a double figure score tonight at Poole (he scored a bunch at Poole only last week) to launch our season. GO ROCKETS 44-46
  9. Hard to disagree on anything you said. No doubling up, if riders want to be full time get out and promote the sport (do you see any rider going round the terraces during a meeting or attending schools and precincts during the week), are grasstrack riders fulltime? Close racing is far more important than a "named" rider half a lap ahead so we don't need big names just riders that are associated with our club. A 9 point No 1 will be king pin with fans regardless of his overall standard. I don't remember Nicki Pedersen putting 2,000 on the gate at Eastbourne, Hancock at Reading and did the ex world champion pack the stands at Kings Lynn last year? But the really sad part is I have so little faith in the BSPA that I even question why I waste my time bleating out the bleeding obvious.
  10. Spot on about the real reason for FRN, although I suspect one or two "superstars" will appear in England after 31 July (probably at Poole) when their own GP chances have gone and the opportunity to sum extra greenbacks will entice them to grace out sport and us mugs will welcome them instead of calling them parasites.
  11. Its OK playing fantasy speedway but all the options will be too expensive unless you unload either Harris, Nicholls or KK. without the TV money and reduced attendances from FRN I suspect the sport is in serious danger and coming to the tapes in April 2019 might be the biggest success any club can achieve this year. That said, as shown on Monday (wasn't Nicholls excellent) its the bottom end of the team that may need tweaking not the top.
  12. Just look at the crowd at Rye yesterday, Wednesday is madness that could close the club, still at least Woffy, Hancock, Pedersen etc are all back gracing British speedway after moaning for years about needing a fixed race night in England.
  13. The difference between Kennetts 1st and 4th rides today was massive and the team is structured for a lot more than that from Eddie Don't be fooled by a low score of 7 Harris put in a proper shift today, it looked like a bit of light questioning "rattled his cage" anyway give credit where credits due well done today Chris another week that would have bagged you double figures.
  14. Just look at the crowd size compared to the Wednesday meeting against Wolves and that's why bank holiday Monday at 3.00pm happens. Yes I get the dust but my club surviving overrules any inconvenience. Tough meeting again with Nicholls rolling back the years, KK and much more lively Harris carrying us. Kennett only confirmed my fear with his inclusion this season with a dire heat 14 and Max Clegg whom I am sure is a nice chap and I wish him well be is soo far out of depth please change it before it destroys him as a rider.
  15. Thank you for the update and very sorry to hear of the personal and professional issues, its hard though as a passionate fan when we hear absolutely nothing from the club whats going on so we naturally jump to our own conclusions. Lessons to be learned for everyone. Lets hope you can return to the form we all know you are capable of asap.
  16. Not one to panic about riders but the season is only 28 matches and if you include the home match against Leicester then we have had a sample of 5 matches: Harris - nor impressed in any match so far, if he has bike problems then sort it, if he is a happy father and doesn't want a big "get-off" I understand but move over please. Summers - seems to give his best, reasonable replacement for Barker, so OK Kennett - perhaps an appearance would allow me to decide if it was a good move to replace Wells with him, still fear not KK - given the lack of effort around him he is still doing fine, always a worry that he can become disinterested if others are not putting it in Nichols- despite his bike slow from the gate he still seems fast and competitive, more than fine NJK/Robbo - happy with both although Robbo didn't start too hot Clegg - was never going to work, would rather blood another youngster like Perks last year and benefit later like Belle Vue and Bewley I know its been really very cold and wet but I still think that fixed race nights was madness, put on the plus side Woffinden, Pedersen and Hancock etc who all promoted it for years at least they are all back gracing British Speedway
  17. Great comeback from the Rockets with NBJ (an interesting conundrum who gets left out? as surely Rye cannot release him especially on his average) clearly keeping Rye House is the meeting on his own early on, and KK finishing it off. Big mention though to Howarth, I rider who seems to be very underrated and also to Schlein for some hard but fair racing. Wolves deserved their point.
  18. Paid 14 from 5, granted 1 swallow doesn't make a summer and it was against a poor Newcastle side but a base to build on hopefully. I also brace myself as Lakeside is so not Matejs type of track
  19. I do know the history when Kus was with Redcar last time and I will not divulge the details here but blame Brian Havelock for that not Kus. But despite the above I do agree the treatment of Ellis Perks by Redcar and quite frankly all of speedway has been appalling, he was a breath of fresh air for Rye House and looking at his results at Redcar proved it was no flash in the pan.
  20. Rider of the year at Redcar I recall and you get a 7 1/2 average because what you did last year. Nicholls only got 4 on his debut for Peterboro this year lucky he doesn't ride for Redcar !!
  21. Well give the guy a break, 2 AWAY meetings and the jury has made its mind up. Yes its a slow start but give him 3 or 4 HOME matches to get dialled in then judge for peats sake.
  22. Slow down White City Rebel, under Len there was NO refund after 6 heats and I if you did get a re-admission ticket it had to be for one of the next 3 meetings not anytime this season.
  23. Amazed the match was on as it was raining most of the day here. What was the crowd size like? Overall pleased with the Summers, Kennett and Robson scores but one small point, when is the manager going to get cute with heat 8? there was always a chance this meeting was going to abandoned after heat 10 yet Robbo has 2 rides (paid 5) and Clegg 3 rides (paid nil) Robbo should have been in heat 8 end of.
  24. They say the biggest complement is when they copy you, just look at the nomadic names that appear not least 7 "bonus" years foe Cradley fans.
  25. I hope the moto cross project works and that it doesn't impact on the speedway, but what if it does? We've lost Rye House to other motor sport before and we both know how tough it was to reverse that! Oh Rob I hope not, I don't have the energy to go through that again.
