  1. Sounds like a glimmer of hope and it implies that the last few days have been at the behest of the BSPA. Good luck with saving the situation Steve.
  2. People say "give me good racing" People say "give me a great racer" Well Belle Vue have the best race track (perhaps bar Hackney and Peterborough) for years and Dan Bewley "the most exciting rider perhaps since Mark Loram or Kenny Carter" and apparently the crowds are well down. What part of the above is hard to understand SCRAP FIXED RACE NIGHTS
  3. What a day for Rye House Speedway with the funeral of the greatest bar none. Great Eulogy from Steve Ribbons, a fan through and through.
  4. I wonder if there are some backdoor negotiations going on as the BSPA or Rye House have made no formal acknowledgement. I have no inside information but even for the BSPA I am surprised we have not had the normal statement "it is with regret that Rye House have withdrawn/suspended from the Premiership"
  5. I have re read your message and I completely took it the wrong way, by reading it with "tounge in cheek" I now totally agree with it. Sorry.
  6. I remember following Bob Garrad up the M11 and he had his bike tethered to the boot of his of car with the front wheel inside and he worked full time in Maldon. Oh, for those who do not know who Bob Garrad is, well he has ridden the most matches and scored the most points for Rye House EVER.
  7. Sorry Waytogo28 I appreciate your reply. its just emotional the thought of possibly losing the club again (1973 and 1993) I hope, as there is no announcement that the club has withdrawn from the league, that Rye have decided it is simply not financially viable to ride on Wednesdays anymore which means the ball is now in the BSPA court.
  8. This is my club that I have supported since 1970 and it could fold due to a ill thought out whim of an idea (just look at all the postings for months warning of this) and you regard it as unfortunate, a justification last used by Dr Harold Shipman
  9. If Rye House have pulled out and I stress IF at this point, then this is 100% on the BSPA, this was totally unavoidable unlike most track closures. Whilst BMR have probably made a number of mistakes I am sure those mistakes were made in good faith, they have made hugh committments into the club, paying top dollar (in English Speedway) for Harris, NIcholls and KK to put out a competitive team and were rewarded with great crowds last year. But the BSPA true to form weren't going to leave a good news story alone so they imposed the ffffing ridiculous fixed race nights on Rye House, top that with the collapse in TV money (negotiated by ????), it didn't need Hercule Poirot to for see this one coming. Lets hope if and I stress IF Rye House cannot continue in the Premiership speedway is not lost and Championship or even National League would be a return to sanity. I sincerely hope to apologise in the next few days for this posting and that I (like everybody else) has misread the smoke signals.
  10. Oh yes the old "Vultures" race Red: Barry King Blue: Garry Monk White: Dave King Yellow/Black: Dale Rook (the perfect name for a vultures race)
  11. Cant comment on Monday but I guess it was a bad day at the office but overall I think KK in the 20 odd matches for the Rockets has been more than fine (four home matches he has won heats 13 and 15 when we needed it) and after flying in from Poland and crowds of 12 -15,000 and seeing Max Clegg unloading his bikes one wonders what goes on his mind. Like everyone I suspect he will go through a spell that has blighted his career in England but that hasn't happened yet, so please give credit where credits due. My bigger concern is Chris Harris, another home meeting laced with 3 very ordinary rides mixed with 1 belter (last night he got overtaken by BOTH opponents on one lap) not the trademark of "even if I lose I will be buzzing around the riders in front of me" that has graced his career has made him such a crowd favourite. A normal Bomber score would have allowed us to accommodate Nicholls (still he busted a gut in every race) who really did have "one of those nights Absolutely, if the business plan needs to be watered down, please say so, I will continue to support the Rockets through and through.
  12. Local derbies, less travel money for the riders, bigger crowds, clearly you don't understand how speedway works at all.
  13. Great to hear from you Rob, Can I add to your list above with the name Mouldyhall Fen Tigers
  14. Credit to BV for the win, it was deserved. Drozdz looked impressive tonight as did Garrity and Tungate sometimes. Hats off to Kasprzak who rode his socks off as did Nicholls (tonight didn't go his away but he gave his all and credit to him for that). In truth we have been walking a tightrope at home all season and this time our luck run out. Time to look hard at the team "and the budget" whilst anyone will want fantasy signings my first consideration is to have speedway at Rye House next year.
  15. First bad meeting in about 20 matches but I can understand your smirking. Well done KL for an impressive result, hoped for a far better score although Lambert and Toffs current form did trouble me beforehand, but we should have competed with Kerr and Jorgensen Cant afford any slip ups at home on Wednesday otherwise the season will quickly become a long one.
  16. The only chance of getting 60 on monday if with a visit to the dart board (you will find the darts in the back of Batchelor and Holder from last year) Kings Lynn 43 Rye House 47
  17. Good point, I don't know but there are not many meetings in Prague and we have signed NBJ (I am pleased with this signing) who rides in the Danish League on Wednesdays. So it seems that teams do accommodate a certain amount of clashes.
  18. Sorry to bang on about Matej Kus but at 3.80 he is a bargain last night he beat Ricky Wells twice at Wells home track. His low average wont be for long
  19. Got to say whilst anyone would have liked 3 points last night would I have taken a point before the meeting? YES Seems both teams could make a case for a better result but there still seems to be life in this team as I did not expect to trouble 40 points before the meeting.
